Thanks so much for concentrating on how Etsy selling has changed its seller rules and impacted sellers who are true artisans and craftspeople. It's no secret that Etsy has allowed third party sellers who have saturated the site with cheap, copied items coming from well...we all know where.
Thank you SOOO much for being one of the first Etsy RUclipsrs to actually mention Christmas trends. I've already been selling a bunch of Christmas items, which tells me this year is going to be nuts!

We don’t want to put unnecessary pressure on small businesses that we know sometimes are filling are orders completely alone, just to complain later that the order wasn’t received on time. Was at a wedding last month and literally 50% of the women were in jewel tone dresses, Blues, Oranges & Greens. Jewel tones and Barbie could be huge

definitely agree with this - think people are shopping earlier this year. I've already sold an ornament and cake topper for xmas - earliest ive ever sold xmas items so far since joining etsy in 2020

I am feeling a little stressed because I haven’t sold anything other than a shirt my sister bought lol… I am not sure if my SEO it’s not the best or people are just not searching for halloween shirts (most of what I have in my listings as of today) I started to add more listings in other niche areas but I feel like it’s so complicated. Unfortunately there are no official lists, so you'd need to google them individually. Typically the copyright will last for 70 years after the death of the artist, but sometimes their families and estates will hold rights for longer.

I make financial stationary & have been designing some Christmas themed ones on canva! I usually stay away from any sort of brand or film BUT I found a grinch graphic on canva, if I was to list it as something bland (not THE GRINCH)😂 is it something Etsy would allow or is it a big no no? It’s not the original grinch it’s a canva lookalike. My design has added bits on it and text too, I’m in two minds, or is it just the wording I need to be careful with? I hope you don’t mind me asking but google is only getting me so far. 😄
If it "looks like" the Grinch, it's not safe. Even if you found it on Canva, where many of the designs related to themes are for personal use, like those based on movies.

You are idealing "making" these products. Not "finding" them. Etsy is a handmade marketplace.

Have Etsy stopped Google ads?
No. This is something I've seen several times in the Etsy seller community but it is not true. I just did a quick search for "handmade artisan cold press soap" and had multiple Etsy ads pop up.
Reminder: Today (8/23/23) is the last day to Opt Out of the Etsy Arbitration Clause
Etsy is a large corporation now. I started selling with them when they were still small. I've had no sales in a year. But I am just a hobby crafter. Anyway. Money talks. Why not encourage sellers to place their shops on vacation mode for a day? Might hurt sellers some but would definitely get Etsy's attention. Just a thought.
This has already been attempted. Not enough sellers are willing or able to put their shop on vacation mode to make an impact. What we are doing is designed to gather news and media attention - not just Etsy's. Because when the news gets involved, Etsy acts.
