I was at the recording of this show. I loved Andy Gibb and had such a huge crush. I got Jay Osmond's autograph in between takes. :) I was only 12.
Lucky you! My friends and I got see him on top to the Orem Recording Studio and the crowd of fans in the parking lot were all freaky out. We loved Andy Gibb!

Y'know, I grew up in the 70s when the Osmond's were on Friday nights, Christmas specials, stuff like this--they felt like family then, you knew and loved em all. Sure is great seeing this again 😊

I watched the Donny and Marie show every week it was so great Andy's skits were amazing he had an amazing entertainer
He could NOT do choreogrpahy however....watch him in the group number with Marie. He can't waltz and he keeps looking at his feet. Still gotta love him, though!

Maybe a little corny now in 2020, but those were days that you could sit and watch a TV special with whole family. Simpler times.

It was pretty corny then too. There were definitely more sophisticated and better shows, namely the Muppet Show that didn't have all this frilly, gaudy nonsense. And at this point the show and their popularity were largely on the wane; the show would be cancelled due to low ratings several weeks later and then the family would find out their earnings had been depleted to due to mismanagement and larceny (a rite of passage in Mormon culture). Both Donny and Jimmy had said they wanted to change the format so it would better showcase the family's rock star abilities and would appeal to teenagers and make it hip and relevant, but the producers simply didn't want to take the time to invest in making any changes.
Just adorable, good clean family entertainment something missing from this weary world today.
MAN!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!! This literally brings tears to my eyes, so much talent and CLASSY presentations, WOW!!!!! Television sure IS NOTHING like this anymore!

This brings me to my knees, remembering the 80s as a little Boy, my elder Sister and I would sit and watch D&M and The Osmonds.
They don't come this beautiful on TVs anymore, and our Children in this present Generation are missing a lot.
I have started playing these wonderful classics for them to enjoy what real entertainment is, thanks for sharing.

my all time favourite entertainment show period. no one can top them. brings back so much joy and happiness and tears.
They created such a fantastic illusion which was so fabulous it made you feel so good watching a family that seemed so together.but reality check that's all it was illusion it was never real they made every one else feel happy watching them while they were dying inside.yet because of the bright smiles you would of never ever of known that! The moral? Things are never what they may seem.so people the point I'm really making is find your own happiness and contentment then you can genuinely smile for real! Peace and love 💛👏

It was so simple and happy days being excited waiting for specific programs every week at same time. Osmonds, Charlie’s Angels, Captain & Tennille shows…..not like endless stash of sns nothings nowadays.

I still have my Donny and Marie dolls as well as Andy Gibb. Wonderful childhood memories.
I'm so jealous, I always wanted Donny and Marie dolls. We were poor though, I got my Aunts handme down Barbies from the 60's which were kind of awesome. I turn handed those to my cousins in the 80's.
Loved watching them. They all aged well to. Self care singing and dancing good for the soul. And everything else 😊

Dave thank you for your video. I remember when this originally aired. This really makes my day. Please continue with these videos and wonderful memories that come along with them.
I was fortunate enough to see Andy at the Missouri State Fair. He was so talented and gorgeous. Its so sad he didnt believe in himself and got so involved in drugs, especially cocaine. Even sadder that his daughter didnt have the chance to know him. He will never be forgotten. He was the youngest, but, unfortunately, the first to pass away, leaving his family so sad. Barry being the oldest, and the last BeeGee left, has many sad memories (but many more happy ones).
