I love how each of the evolutions of Bulbasaur represent the three different types of rods. Bulbasaur is the Old Rod. Ivysaur is the Good Rod. And finally, Venasaur is the Super Rod. Very clever.

As a kid I was confused that I couldn't simply fly up the waterfalls. I mean if a pidgey can carry you across an entire region, it doesn't take much to imagine a Salamence could fly you up a few 100 feet.
Maybe they crash land and only towns and certain places like that can absorb the impact safely.

You know, now I actually want to see such mechanics in games or at least in romhacks. Don't know how much difficult they would be to implement though.
They would offer a whole other dimension to pokémon games...
So, basically making the games more like the anime? In that case, might as well add the Orange Islands, the Indigo Plateau Conference from the anime, the Silver Conference, the Ever Grande Conference, and let Pokemon have more than 4 moves

Also Kratos: Cant jump or climb ledges more than 4ft tall and dies from a 10ft fall. Gravity is the God-Killer's killer apparently

I like the mountain climbing mechanic, maybe it needs a form of stamina limiting like breth of the wild to not be totally broken.
the stamina amount could be based on the hp gadge. (it wouldn't lower it but its current value would be the stamina you start with for the climb) this way a tired Pokémon can't climb far. level would also be important.
the level affects hp was what I meant to say.
also should this still be linked to a move like rock climb?
@@ajakethompsonor perhaps just the *potential* to learn the move so it doesn't have to actually take up a move slot

Also this is probably why they went away from hm. Honestly enough I thought it was kinda annoying at times. Cause you had to either have a HM slave or give a move a lot away to those hm. Given some of the hm aren’t bad like surf, strength and fly being at the time some of the strongest move the type had to offer. But then you get like cut, flash, rock smash… 😒

To be fair mountain climbing is more dangerous than caves, the air thins at a dangerous rate so underground youre at least able to breathe
How about Gardevoir using hypnosis or confusion to make every gym leader give up the badge and forget?
This is one of my goals in my fangame. That most species and most moves have an actual overworld use, that allow a different way to explore.

Some would, but don't a lot of them like to battle or aren't used in that context?
Imagine a Pokemon game that functioned more like an RPG, or an immersive sim, allowing you to do all these things in-game, along with customization for your character and the ability to collect Pokemon from ALL regions without that version-exclusive B.S.

That area once I was playing in hoenn and one of the electrode pokemon near the masterball were selected before obtaining the masterball and the battle happened but not normal the electrode was blue for some reason only to realize it was shiny. We tried to catch it with normal pokeballs but it popped out of them and used explosion to end the battle and fail on catching a shiny pokemon.

It’s funny how even the developers realized this so they removed the HMs and gave us rideable pokemon
I wish they would bring HMs back… HEAR ME OUT. As a side part of the Pokémon. If you have a Pokémon big enough to surf, you can. If you have fighting/ rock type Pokémon you can break rocks and so on.
Just for exploring since the map is now open world anyways.

Ghastly in Season 1 fused a Venusaur and Blastoise together to create Venustoise, a pokemon so powerful Ash and Pikachu gave up without even trying.
Ghastly is a reality warping demi god.

gyarados can't appear in such lake and even in east ocean, not like you can just surf and find one probably only in the depth of the ocean. Liked you did it on gen 3 tho!
