- Nomad Sculpting App - Using the measure tool. Scaling a model correctly is essential for 3D printing and it's no different in Nomad Sculpting app on the Ipad. Nomad version 1.33 brought us a new measure tool and this video will show you how I use it in my work.
Dimensioning as it is known, is very common in almost all CAD based programs. In mesh based programs like Maya, Blender, ZBrush etc there is always a way to set a scale but there are often incompatibilities and scaling issues between programs It's essential to know what scale you are working at, especially if you are going to be working with other peoples files and if those files are destined for things like 3DPrint, simulation or to go into another programs pipeline.

thanks Glen! I got a 3d printer but I got a resin one, and am trying to get my small home office/studio to ventilate so I don't die. haha. excited to get it all going. your videos and instruction are going to be what helps me succeed!

Hi. I joined up some time ago to your courses on Kajabi and can find the Mars build plate scaled model stl but was hoping you released a Saturn 2 version somewhere. I haven’t got around to doing the courses yet. Is the Saturn 2 amongst the course files somewhere ?

Thank. I always have to scale thinks by about 100x when i import to CHitubox. Now i know why.
So far luckily have'nt had to be too precise with any of my models so far. But want to do figures with joints so I imagine scale might be good idea to know from the start.

Thanks, i'm wondering if there is a balance tool? I mean if you print the super-héros and add wings to him, the risk is that he fall during the print and also when it's finish. Hope you understand my frenglish
Hi I use Nomad for modelling before 3D print it, but the default size is too small. If I have to print it out later, do I need to scale before modelling or finish modelling then scale it later for 3D printing? Thank you
How do you added the text into Nomad?
Are there maybe slicing app for FDM or SLA printing on mobile? Android / Ipad?
How did you do the text on your scaling tool?
The measure which show us is in cm or inches ? For example if I’m measuring something it’s showing 1.20 so it’s cm or in inches ?
At around 4:00 he says 1 is 1 mm! so very small :)
