I'm so grateful for more dupes coming out, especially since many of the original products are getting ridiculous with their prices. Also, I love it when you talk about makeup, Dr Dray! Your recommendations are less likely to aggravate my skin.

Be very careful with dupes. Compare ingredients not just the color of the packaging. BPure’s Cetaphil dupe has 2 ingredients in common with Cetaphil. 2. And one is water. And BPure’s contain mineral oil 🤮 and methylchloroisothiazolinone 🤬 and Methylisothiazolinone 🙄 Which real Cetaphil contains none of that. So how is that the same! Their Olay and Nuetrogena dupes are even worse! The Olay fake has Niacinamide but…. It’s ingredient #18 of 20! In Olay it’s #3 I believe. BPure has the absolute minimum to legally be allowed to say it’s in there. 🤷🏼♀️ you get NO benefit from it. It’s like buying a chocolate chip cookie that has 1 chocolate chip, 1. In a 6 inch diameter cookie. One.
So watch out and compare those ingredients. The order listed absolutely matters

I love vanicream and it’s nice to see stores are coming out with dupes of them but I like supporting vanicream since they seem like a smaller brand.
I couldn't use it because it dried out my skin. I ended up throwing it out.

I use a few different Vanicream products and like them.
I agree about supporting Vanicream! I hope they stick around but they do seem to have super extended supplier issues on a few loved products. Started using their shampoo and conditioner and love it. The conditioner is very moisturizing and has great slip. I was pleasantly surprised.

I am still searching and praying for a Vanicream Lip dupe. I LOVED using this for an under eye cream SPF because it did not burn or sting under my eyes.

I have been using the Schick Intuition razor for many years and it is my go to! I love that its all in one and I do not feel the need to lather up another product beforehand. Love it and highly recommend

I agree. The more I stay away from those fancy products with weird fruit essences and what not, the calmer and smoother my skin tends to be. All those exotic or fancy ingredients tend to leave my skin red or irritated
Me too, I was using high end brands and my skins couldn't be worse! I switched to drugstore brands and my skin has improved greatly.

I have started using Vanicream facial moisturizer for 2 yrs and love it ever since especially the night i have to use retinol. This is my staple for sure. Thank you Dr Dray for letting me know this brand

Dr Dray i totally agree that sprays with SPF are meant to be sprayed into the palms and pressed into the face versus spraying the face directly ... thats always been a big no- no but anyway, I AM HEADED TO WALGREENS RIGHT NOW !!! OMG THOSE SETS ARE AMAZING !!!
I have tried the ELF non-tinted sunscreen and I love it! It's a great primer as well.
Great video. Informtive as usual. I have to say when Twilight was big, they had Twilight razors and the handles were scented. It only lasted for a shave or two. Love Vanicream items. I started using Vanicream sunscreen because I developed an allergy to sunscreen - even the baby variety.
Looooove the ELF sunscreen. I prefer the no glow..less greasy feeling..Glad to see dermatologists liking it

I am currently trying the Walgreen’s version of Vanicream’s moisturizing hand/body cream. Although it does not have fragrance in it, it does have a distinct “smell” to it. I’m not 💯 on whether or not I like it or not…
I have not seen the other Vanicream dupes, though… I will definitely try them!

I love the intuition razor. I turn the razor over and use the top part to rub on the skin first than shave. It’s the easiest way I have found to shave it has a really thick handle. I have problems holding things in a strong grasp. It’s great.
Omg, i literally did a spit take over the WG niacinamide serum!!! Yes, 2 oz for ~$9 is a great deal! Woooo! Too bad i just spent $16 on two 1 oz bottles. No matter how many products with Niacinamide i use, i can see a difference in texture (my pores really do shrink with this) when i start my AM skincare routine with a humectant rinse and a faceful of squalane & 10% niacinamide. And the razor huffing joke was spot on! Dr Dray is just so naturally entertaining lol!
Using dove bar soap as a facial cleanser, seems to be the only cleanser that keeps my face clear. Not sure why it works so well. Many years ago a dermatologist recommended it, and it ended up working really well.
Shave with the grain(on your legs), you might not get as close of a shave but it will greatly if not completely eliminate ingrown hairs from shaving.
Started doing this years ago after years and years of ingrown hairs on my legs after shaving. Which left my legs scared(from scratching and exfoliating).
It has been a blessing to my legs. 👍

Garnier micellar vitamin C water is as good as bioderma one and also fragrance free, I love it!
The eucerin gel wash is fabulous, been using it as a double cleanse for about 4 months, and feels so good on the skin.

I can totally recommend the Dove Sensitive Skin (fragrance free) beauty bar and body wash. I've been using them for years. I did try a CVS dupe once but it wasn't the same.
I'm in my 70s and I use either Andalou body cream on my face ($10 for 8 ozs) Or some sliced green apple and organic aloe on my face at night (green apple has malic acid in it and Andalou does as well ) During the day I either put more Andalou on or use cocoanut cream on which locks in moisture too and super cheap I don't like all the chemicals on my face that much and the cream is great
Yup! Been using that dove sensitive soap bar in the shower since a derm told me it’s the only thing for me about 30 years ago. Still love it. So cheap from Costco

Love the elf halo glow blushes. I use candlelight. It's a blush and highlighter in one. Wish they would change the applicator as its messy.
I love Walgreens Cerve PM dupe.. seems to work better for me. Doesn’t sting.. it’s the best for day/night
I love the untinted ELF sunscreen, it is a "mushy" gel texture, has a lot of slip, is very moisturizing. I let it dry down a bit before I apply foundation. I also like the tinted one. I have normal skin, to dry in the dead of winter when I think this sunscreen will be especially nice.

Yes yes yes to spf lip balm! Even when i use my new obsession, lanolips, i use a layer of spf balm first... I rarely get any chapping anymore.
You should do the opposite. You're wiping off the SPF when using it second
I liked the non tinted Elf sunscreen better. I bought both at Ulta and I think the non tinted one it more matte and the tinted leaves me glowy

The elf and Supergoop are good if you aren’t allergic to chemical sunscreens, but they peel under makeup application.

Ah thank you so much for this, I've always wondered if it was okay to get the off/store brand products and if they worked just as well, and it seems they absolutely do! It's comforting to know because when you're working with a budget some of the important skincare products I need are just too much money.🥺 Are there ever times that store brands aren't a better choice? Or are they all solid picks every time?
One case where I think the store brand is better than the original is the CVS dupe for CeraVe AM. The CeraVe one pills on me but the CVS dupe applies smoothly and feels nice, SPF 30. I’ve tried other store dupes for this product and for me the CVS is the best.
I have been using Andalou products for quite sometime and I'm in my 70s now
They have malic acid peptides in them and my skin is so much better now
You can get their body cream ($10 for 8 ozs) and use on your face I do and my skin tends to be sensitive really it works to clear dark spots and smooth wrinkles Or you can actually take a green apple cut it up and use it on your face at night along with a bit of organic aloe vera gel It clears up pigmentation very well and plumps your skin up too Ceravae ( or literally coconut cream which is cheaper and it makes you smell well yummy during the day you can get a can of it for under $3) however is a good go too using it in the day time
Some of them are fine, some aren't. Really trial and error . I personally try the dupes

Oh, also the Schick Intuition razors are the only thing I’ve used since I started in college (20 years ago). They were perfect for the tiny college dorm showers where there is no way to keep your legs out of the water, to prevent cream or gel from just getting washed off.
I've used those razors for years and won't stop any time soon. So convenient as I do all my shaving in the shower.
Love the Intuition razors. I personally don't need to use any additional shaving cream when using these. Good for my sensitive skin.
Thanks for the dupes! Walgreens doesn't have these on their website yet. We get things last in my Walgreens though we have d/c items for a long time.

I had to stop using the Walgreens Panoxyl face/body wash dupe. The last one I bought seemed to be a completely different formula and burned my skin. It was awful.

Thank you for the tour. Some of the Canadian drugstores do dupes as well. Dupes are not always equivalent in texture or efficacy.

Eucerin is a German brand, but the creams are made in Mexico. Now it seems some of their products are made in Poland and Germany, how great.

Warning: Kinda icky (hair growing in wrong places) warning about lash serum!!! Do not use lash serum if you have double or triple lashes! I got one free & tried it, thinking it was just an oil and wondered if it would do anything on my heavy lashes (they do not curl & do grow to poke my eye sometimes & are not cute like youre thinking). I used it semi regularly for less than a month and i ended up with a single lash growing noticeably above the rest (almost in the middle of my lid!) AND a lash grew UNDER my top layer of skin. Both follicles died naturally, one lash fell off & one was apparently disolved into my body 🤢. This stuff is REAL. If you have a lot of lashes already, do not experiment!

I've always wondered, if I put an active on my face, then put a moisturizer and rub it all over my face and eyelids rogether, does the moisturizer pass the active onto the eyelids?
And now that the sunsticks are popular, i've seen people reapply using a sunstick that is from a different company than the regular sunscreen they put on earlier, does it risk mixing ingriedients and making the sunstick less effective?
Probably it can yes go on your eyelids.
You can definitely layer sunscreens after the first one is dry. It's not recommended to mix

I recently came across information about Serenoa Repens supplement (also known as saw palmetto). A dermatologist I follow mentioned that it might be beneficial for acne caused by androgen levels.
According to him, Serenoa Repens could affect the metabolism of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and testosterone, reducing androgen uptake into tissues, potentially helping with acne.
However, I've come across concerns about possible side effects like erectile dysfunction and low libido due to its influence on androgens and testosterone. I've struggled with acne, having tried antibiotics and isotretinoin, which worked for a while but the acne has returned.
I'm keen to control my acne but worried about potential sexual health issues. Could you please share your thoughts on Serenoa Repens and its implications?

there are no clinical trials on saw palmetto for acne, and supplements aren't regulated like drugs, so there is a lot of variability in quality. Optimal dosage hasnt been worked out either

Yes absolutely. You can even still potentially get sun burns if the uv index is 0, just not as quickly. Not to mention oxidative stress. Anyways You don’t need to reapply as often though.
Uv Index doesn't measure uva. So yes you need sunscreen

I still can't find a daily spf lotion but I've tried Cerave, Cetaphil and Target dupes. All give me a white film. I've also been using the Neutrogena Stubborn Blackhead Serum like you recommended but there's been no change. I'm going to search your vids to try a cleansing oil since I heard those work against black heads. Love your vids!
I recently heard sunscreen is bad for the skin and didn't know this myself? I use a hat now amazon

If you have Trader Joe's near you, their Daily Non tinted SPF40 is so easy to apply, great for sensitive skin. And its 8.99 for a large tube. Dr. Dray reviewed it when it came out.
