I know, is a remix of both Unused and Used song of Wily Robo Iron Golem, one used in the original game and another unused and used in the Saxton Hale Rebirth++ boss Ra Thor Duo
Can we just appreciate how Wily not only created this massive mech, but he also built it IN SPACE, AND UPSIDE DOWN. Dude must’ve had vertigo for weeks afterwards!
Don't get me wrong. The way the fight against Gamma is introduced back in Chapter 6 is cool and all. But the way the Wily Iron Golem is introduced in this game is just fearsome. And that opening jingle is a big part of it.
0:09...I had no idea what the Wily Iron Golem even was...but when I heard the tempo pick up there? I've never been so intimidated by an 8-bit boss in my life.
Okay so usually my comments are pretty jokey, but I'm just going to mention how good the 3D effect was for this guy. I didn't even realize the arms were sprites for a bit.
This really fit the uneasy atmosphere of MM10's chapter and the place where the boss is in. The earth and space on the background just gives this a nice touch.
To be honest, Wily Machine/Wily Capsule 10 would have been disappointing. Glad it turned out this way. Edit: Well, it looks like I'm not the only one that thinks this.

@@alextheshyguy6513 Spoiler tag for such a puny thing? Bless your kind heart. I've been avoiding spoilers for V6 so hard and it's really difficult. I'm currently at the point before entering the Wily Star
So, are we gonna face off against wily machine 10 or are we gonna skip straight to the capsule or... *sees Wily Iron Golem rising from the depths* You got to be hecking me... It was not the boss we expected, not sure if it was the one we deserved, but it was definitely the one we needed.
I knew it wasnt gonna be Wily Machine 10/Wily Capsule 10. Both would have been disappointing and we already had a Wily Capsule representative anyways. (Wily Capsule 7)
Considering the whole Wily Machine 9 fakeout before Fake Man's stage, I thought that we could've gotten the Wily Machine 9 (as some sort of first phase, kinda like Ra Thor).
@@tadeogomez7303 I dunno, I found Wily Machine 9 to be too goofy looking. Out of all the wily machines you really think that one's the best? It's a freaking skull dinosaur that vomits rubber balls. And besides, I think Proto Man filled the "First Phase" role better than that thing could.

Rockman World IV Wily Battle Song + Saxton Hale Rebirth++ Ra Thor Duo Song/Unused Rockman World IV Wily Battle Song = MM8BDM V6 Wily Robo Iron Golem Battle Song
Also, am I the only one that felt this battle was a little jarring? I mean, most of the bosses up to this point have been relatively simple: 2d Yellow Devil/Doc Robot/Metall Daddy/Dark Men/Gamma/etc Guts Tank with a 3d base 3d mostly static Mech Shark Etc... Then, you're at the end of chapter 12, and you find this Giant Freak that has a 3d body with it's weak point, pseudo 3d moving arms and a terrifyingly dead look on it's face while this awesome song plays in the background. *Did I ask for this?* *Probably not, But thanks anyways.*
I found this boss pretty cool from a development standpoint, the 3d segments of Bosses are actually part of the map they're in, considering that the campaign is coded using only ACS (the language for scripting maps) and DECORATE (the language used for map assets and parts, suck as bushes and some non 3d things in Lights Lab) its quite impressive, the body is a part of the map with a hitbox on the front, which is actually just attached to it, not actually integrated into the "terrain" ,while the arms and head are (i believe) DECORATE Assets given actions and AI. To be fair, the bosses in this game are probably some of the most impressive things people have made for the engine, Zandronum, and it really makes for a pretty good campaign mode.
@@Ihazkirbro That's probably why I found it jarring, it's just so different from all the other bosses in this game, and it's also really technically impressive, too.
Did you, like, have him re-remix this one? Because I can hear some differences in the drums and instruments themselves. Either way, great update! May have to redownload...
I stuck more to the default 2A03 to be more "NES true-to-form" so as to facilitate consolidation of all the other tracks to be more uniform; which naturally forwent my first cover's use of the FDS extension that emulated the Gameboy's waveform for the bass, so I had to use the triangle wave. As for the drums, they're actually as close as I could get them to the original track except the snare I added for that extra "OOMPH"
Well, if you count building-sized robots as giant robots, two or three. If you count any robot built by wily exponentially bigger than Megaman as giant robots, then yes.

The catch seems to be in how easily you're able to dodge attacks in my opinion - it's easier to evade or recover from most of Sunstar's attacks than half of Wily Golem's attacks.)
