    I'm an English teacher. I've been working for the Rio de Janeiro Board of Education for 13 years. I follow the instructions suggested by the Board in orde to teach 3rd grade High School students at the first bimester about Resumé, and Curriculum Vitae. I assign to them both for being translated, and main parts of them when applying for a job. I'm going to show them, around 45 students your vídeo. Great class! I wish the best for you,. Canadians. We are now homeschooling, and your class helps a lot. Thanks a lot, and a big hug.

    Hi! It is a very useful lesson for me because I teach my students how to make a Resume, called CV in Morocco, to apply for a job. Regarding your homework question, I should say, it's unuseful to embellish things on your CV because the recruiter will find it out during the interview with you.
    God bless you!

    Haha, yes, I have embellished a thing or two. I used the term "a good team player", although I also most productive and efficient when I work on my own.
    Another thing that makes me sort of "polish" my resume a little bit is the fact that I have a diploma in psychology, not in accounting, so I usually write something like psychology/economy/social skills in my CV. It has worked well so far. Hehe

I felt terrified because I knew some or most sentences I'v wrote was not define my personality... So, I realised and scrutinised my personality who really am I. So that, I can responds to the the hiring officer in more natural way. 😉

    If resume means to continue, is there any difference between it and lets say go on, come on, keep on etc? There are more words pronounced like this, for example lingerie. CV derives from Latin Curriculum vitae and should be pronounced as it is spelled except last ae which are pronounced just "e" [vite]. The good example for an English word with Russian roots is bridge (a card game). :)

    • @MadEnglishTV
      @MadEnglishTV  6 лет назад

      There's no difference in meaning. You could say, "I'm going to keep watching the movie."
      That's interesting! Also, I think we got the word "borscht" from Russian. Haha.

    • @stisti7879
      @stisti7879 6 лет назад +1

      Oh I fathom how hard to pronounce this word is for you! But the correct pronouciation of this word needs two consecutive sh and ch sounds at the end [borshch].

    4:37 *You can use the ASCII code to get any vowel with an acute accent for example Alt + 130 gives you é. For á use the keystroke Alt + 160, í use Alt + 161, ó use Alt + 162, and ú use Alt + 163. Otherwise, you can also change your keyboard language for any Latin version to avoid using the ASCII method. By the way, you need to activate the numeric part of your keyboard (NumLk), or whether you are on a laptop you need to use the Function key (Fn) to press the ASCII numbers, most of the time is over the letters on the left-hand side of your keyboard on a laptop. Actually, on a PC is quite easy.*
