    In this video I'm showing how to make simple and high power adjustable voltage regulator using lm317 with high output current.
    As lm317 has max output 1.5A but here I used PNP power transistors to Bypass the current directly from input and voltage is managed by lm317.

    You have a mistake there, parallel-paired transistors must have balance resistors, if they are not there, one of the transistors will be overloaded - they are not made with exactly the same values.

    Out put load is 30a ,for that you have to solder atleast 4 sq mm wire ,for loading 30a you have use common salt in plastic container,small motor consume less power.

    Where would you wire a amp meter into the circuit?
    Could you add another potentiometer somewhere to control the output amps?

      Thanks for watching 🙂, Yes you can use 2 in 1 volt/amp meter to display amps consuming, also you can add more transistors in parallel to drive higher amp load, but output amps will be same as supplied to input

    What about Current measurement?
    How do you say 30 A.

      This circuit doesn't boost current to 30A, But it will control load of 20-30A, when input supply used is also supplying 30A, you can add more transistors for more Amps load control.

    Per funzionare funziona, ma mi sembra un circuito molto scarno privo di alcuni piccoli accorgimenti che reputo essenziali per una buona regolazione e stabilizzazione, tipo: diodo sul regolatore, un paio di grossi condensatori elettrolitici in entrata e uscita, resistenze di stabilizzazione, una su ogni emettitore dei TR di potenza.

      Thanks for your comment, Then i should only have used lm317, why MJE2955 is used, Actually in this circuit lm317 only controls voltage, But PNP Transistor bypasses the current directly same as input, you can use more transistors in parallel to increase the output power handling.

      You need to use rectified dc supply for input, In video i used 30v SMPS as input

      I can provide only within my country, you may order pcb using my Gerber files or use layout files to make diy pcb, also you can use Vero board (zero pcb) by following circuit diagram, components may be sourced in local electronic market.

    30A ? impossible for linear regulator! especially when vin/vout is large!

      Lm317 is only 1.5A, that's what 2x MJE2955 PNP Transistor do, They Bypass current directly from input, and output voltage only is maintained by lm317

      Yes, used for just testing, For Long Term Please use big heat sink with cooling fan, Also you may connect more transistors in parallel to increase out put power.
      Output power will be same as supplied at input.

      Yes, lm317 is rated maximum 1.5A, but in this circuit lm317 only controls voltage, But PNP Transistor bypasses the current directly same as input maximum 30A as rated for 2x MJE2955, You can connect more transistors in parallel to increase power rating.

      The LM317 has an internal transistor through which current is normally flowing. But in this case, it only serves as an transistor array. The high current flows through the big power transistor.

      It will generate heat at low voltages as this is basic circuit without PWM control!

      The RGB leds controller can be made easily using minimal components, but with ir remote function for colour effect, than a micro controller like Arduino should be there

      Yes, but here lm317 is only controlling voltage, current is bypassed by transistor and gives same output current as input, maximum depends on transistors current rating.

      En ese tipo de transistor el pin del centro esta conectado con el disipador del transistor, el tornillo que conecto al disipador de metal hiso puente a los transistores osea al positivo de salida
