I enjoyed how confused I was at the end of this episode (and others), because trying to figure it out and piecing it together was fun! I really enjoy weekly drops from Disney rather than binging.
It weirdly only worked with wandaVision, in comparison to the other Disney+ marvel shows. I lost interest in the other shows waiting week by week just to finish it. But wandaVision had cliffhangers and was a mystery, so gripping by nature.
That’s what I thought, the mystery of it was great, I feel like it started strong and got a little worse each episode pretty much after episode 4 with a couple exceptions
The fact they really did it in front of an audience (a first for Marvel) was great. Believe me, this show gets way more interesting & the performances were spot on on how shows from the 50s were.
Just last weekend, a buddy of mine came over who'd never seen this and we just binge watched the entire season. It's so very good and I'm excited for your reactions.
Its interesting to see Marvel try something different and as of episode 5 of Loki without seeing the finale Wanda Vision is still the best of the 3 shows to me.
Not sure you noticed because it can be subtle if you are into the show, but up until the dinner scene this episode is 100% filmed like a multi-camera sitcom, the moment things start going wrong at the dinner table the cinematography changes to angles that were not used/possible on a sitcom at the time period this is made, lots of close ups from angles the cameras would not be able to catch, top down, etc. When things get back to "normal" so does the camera...
Definitely watch the documentary at the end of the season about the making of the show. I love how they went about this to really make it look and feel like the shows they were evoking.

This series made me a life-long fan of Elizabeth Olsen, she is fantastic. In my opinion they didn't completely stick the landing in the end but the ride is so good.
Man...A Filmmakers take on this IS SO REFRESHING. I swear so many people couldnt appreciate the masterpiece Marvel wiped up for us. The first three episodes were such a lovely trip & people bashed them relentlessly.
I don't do superhero stuff and even I watched this show lol I have seen all the old shows it references so I figured I'd dig it, and it pays off as a miniseries andends well ❤
Yep, it was a shame that I was a little behind, but I was one of your fans on youtube who recommended "True Detective" when you finished the first season of "The Punisher". My plan was to let you to experience really good series. So now that you're starting to see it, I thought that now, at the end of the series, I should not forget to recommend the "West World" series ... (unless you've seen it before). You do a fantastic job and I notice very much you and I have the same thoughts. If you have not seen the series, watch it. You will really like it, I promise. Take care! :D
Cool to hear your thoughts on the MCU. People like to deride it as shallow since it IS the superhero genre, but it is truly the craziest cinematic achievement our generation has been able witness. Also the D+ shows are pretty decent so far
What if ....Marvel created a sitcom in 1950 based around the characters Vision and Scarlet Witch (Well, it couldn't have happened - Marvel was at the time going by the name Atlas Comics and the characters weren't even ink on the page or concepts in the minds of Lee and Kirby). It's an I Love Lucy episode filmed on the set of The Dick Van Dyke Show in the Twilight Zone.
wandas escape as a child was facilitated through tv specifically american sit coms, when vision got his head ripped open and her brother was killed she reverted back to her safe space, although now she has the power to conjure those sitcoms in real life
This show was definitely a slow boil. While it was intriguing, I also found it somewhat irritating. Any further opinions I'll be keeping to myself until you're further along because of those pesky spoilers.
Not really a fan of the MCU, and honestly don't even love this show, but while it might not totally work on a storytelling level, it's got a lot to love. Perhaps the most well-made thing to come out of Marvel, with how well it captured the different sitcom eras and twisted them into something unsettling. And Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany give by FAR the best performances in the MCU. They're honestly the only things keeping the last couple of episodes from completely sucking imo.
"What the heck" Hope them youtube dollars are worth your soul. That is the fun thing about dignity though, you can keep selling it long after its gone.

Yeah an episode a week being released is definitely a better idea as it also grows a stronger audience around it
I think more streaming services will do week to week releases because it keeps their product in the entertainment cycle long.

fun little tidbit about the cinematography of the series via the media kit: "Hall utilized 47 different lenses to create seven different periods."
That first line from Wanda still gets me every time I hear it. "My husband and his indestructible head." If only that had been the case.
As a film maker, you will love everything about this show’s authenticity to eras. Once you’re done the series watch the making of on Disney+ as well.
The Twilight Zone is a pretty apt metaphor for this series' early episodes for sure, but it will all play out.

I preferred Loki because wandavision got worse toward the end and especially the finale, but both were great

James VS Cinema, Can you react to Agents of Shield? It is one of the best Marvel shows regardless weather it is canon or not.
