- Again, this is not me bragging at all. Yes, of course I'm excited to get into AMDA but I mostly made this video because whenever I spent hours researching "Should I expect an email? A letter? How do I know if I got in?" nothing came up except a bunch of forums with personal opinions on the school, which is not what I was looking for.
If you have any additional questions, drop them off below! No, I haven't seen the school in person yet. I'm hoping to set up a tour whenever I go up there to look for apartments. (It's cheaper for me to get my own place than to live in their apartments. Also I get to make my own rules and don't need to have a roommate)

If you get denied could you possibly audition again? Like... after a year or at the next audition?
Yes you can! I believe you can audition for the next term. My friend got denied for the Musical Theatre program, but accepted into the Acting program and immediately re-auditioned for the Musical Theatre program. Albeit he got denied because there was no improvement in the twenty days to change their mind.
My personal advice is that if you're denied once to give it a year so that you can build more experience in educational/community theatre, build more of a resume, and build more confidence. That way it's like you're a brand new actress/actor walking into their auditions.
They're looking for people performance ready who just need some guidance and the right connections. That's what educational theatre is all about post high school.

Many thanks for the video! You are so right there is nothing to find in the internet except discussions ...awesome work! And congrats on being accepted. However I have a question just to be clear
After you sent your transcripts it took 4-6 weeks? As I am also now in week 6 1/2 ^^ and still no vital sign ... (missed to pay the fee) I am getting a heart meltdown haha
It took an extra long time because of mess ups with my transcript and recommendation letter being sent in. Now because I had a VIP app, I didn't worry about paying a fee or anything so I really have no info on that for ya /: Just make sure you send everything in, if you're 100% sure you have everything in then give them a call and shoot them an email asking what's up. I had to do that multiple times in my process to learn that I was behind.

I saw online that the acceptance rate is very low, does your acceptance have any thing to do with grades or gpa average?
nope, they just like to have that information for proof of enrollment. my grades are pretty good stand alone regardless, but it didn't really have much to do with my acceptance. all your GPA shows is that you have persevere through a school you hate for a school you love.
What program did your bud who didn't get in audition for?

Did you ever find out if the phone call was also something they did if you got denied?
No I didn't - nobody I knew that got denied got a phone call but its always a possibility. In my opinion and train of thought I'd imagine it'd be more professional to do it through email / letter format.

Um, not disrespect at all... but almost everyone gets into AMDA. It's like being excited about getting into a community college.
AMDA has a 23.1% acceptance rate, as of 2014...
kails Um, no. That is the yield. As a for-profit school (like DeVry) AMDA does not need to release actual admission data.
I'm applying for AMDA at the end of this year and going got a tour next year Spring. Hopefully when I Audition I'll get it & start my semester Fall of 2019. I pray i get accepted but I heard they do Accept most people
