I'm not a Harden guy but the facts are the facts.
This is why he was so pissed at Morey.
Morey lied and everyone knows it.
He got away with it because some fans and the national media like having James Harden as a sort of "villain" because of how he left Houston and Brooklyn and i am not going to defend those actions.
The man seems prepared to go all out for The Clippers and that's really all that should matter to Clippers fans.

Great job staying positive Dime and continuing to create Clippers content!
Nico and Mo are interesting additions in my view.
It tells me The Clippers will likely be experimenting with more five out offensive concepts while still having length on the floor.
I think my boy Russ will be moved but i still believe The Clippers will win close to 48-52 games if they get at least 65 games with both Kawhi and Harden on the floor together.
This is a perfect time for Terrance Mann to step up and show he can be a force on the offensive end.
    Keep going young man!
Nothing is decided until it is decided and we'll just have to wait and see which is the best team in 2024/2025....
My Lakers appear lost and the fans don't want the organization to stay committed to development and team building.
I live in the Bay Area and i think The Warriors are done as an elite team and probably done as a playoff(top 6) western conference team.
The Nuggets have lost some key role players over the last two offseasons.
Maybe The Clippers can get another healthy Kawhi postseason, this time with Harden rather than PG as his #2?
    Who knows?

  • @andreslancheros2863

Harden time and time has done team friendly deals and he did one that’s beneficial for him too if things go wrong. There is no bigger motivation than to have Pg sign a max with the team that didn’t give him one. Harden is clearly the better player but George had tons of leverage because morey specifically made moves for years to have this offseason available and it was Paul George or nothing. It’s cool. This season we will see a new version of harden.
Assuming we don’t get derozan, harden will go back to getting more shots up. Kawhi is easily the best player he has ever played with and kawhi had a spectacular season before the injury. If we are healthy we are still the best team.
And you are correct, George was only better than harden in 2022. Other than that, Paul George’s career is pale in comparison to hardens. It’s actually hilarious Paul went to Philly. I can’t wait for the season to start. And in praying we get a Philly clippers final but we obviously know that PG will not move the needle for them but hey least he got his money

Clippers actually have been doing pretty well for what they can in the free agency market, looking forward to seeing zu and mann having a bigger role, having prioritize defense over offense, we still got powell of we don't trade him. Zu was crushing Gafford and Lively in Game 1. I swear I could see "a switch flip" as the refs gave Dallas a green light to foul late in Q2 and throughout the series. PG got in severe foul trouble in at least half the games.
If this org is serious about winning it all, Ballmer should be hammering some league heads an earful and threatening to withhold further investment,

If the Clippers & Ty Lue were really looking at the team construction, which Lue hasn’t shown to be a very smart or thoughtful offensive minded coach, they should think about playing Harden at SG instead of PG and let Mann play the point (or offensive initiator) bc Mann plays with more pace and has very good IQ which results in positive plays. Harden can still get his 20pts 7 or 8 assist, but his spot up 3’s would definitely give us a long ball threat.
I would start Nico at PF & bring Jones off the bench as a 3 & D guy and lob threat. However, If they can trade a combination of these players (PJ, Russ, Bones & Dunn or one of the young guys who split time in the D League) for a guy like John Collins then they can bring Nico off the bench. I hear Denver is very interested in Russ so involving Nuggets to get a guy like Collins ($26M per) should be a possibility.
    What do you think?

    • @DavidR-lw4hq
      @DavidR-lw4hq 3 месяца назад

@@Wokonwater Clippers will not win with Harden pounding the ball and walking it up court … they need to get into their offense faster. Kawhi should be the 1st option every play, otherwise look for a fast break opportunity. Harden needs to be the catch and shoot guy, the #1 option on the perimeter, otherwise give the ball to KL on the elbow or post up. Zu should be the second option down low or pick & roll. It’s simple basketball. Lue is not a great coach and his style is easy to defense. Clippers may struggle to make the play-in 10th seed this season as currently structured, especially with a subpar coach.

Bruh I'm no huge PG fan (glad he waljed), but to say Harden outplayed PG while not mentioning Harden's zero on defense is suspect. PG is a better 1-on-1 defender obviously but also a wayyyy better team/positional defender. Harden messes up defensive rotations wat too often. PG not so much a problem. So 2-way PG is the more impactful player. But the Clippers have enough to replace PG especially with Batum/DJJ for 1/3 the price.

PG played more perimeter defense so was out of position for rebounds. Guys take a role and harden fit best in closer to the rim on defense. With harden you like to play him closer to the basket on defense on bigger or older players like SF, PF even. Not taking anything away from James, been watching him a long time. He needs those good defenders around him who can switch because getting screened alot or isolated on by smaller faster players was used by other teams to wear harden down. Batum is a perfect match with harden as are derrick jones jr and Kawi. Those three guys can switch 1-4. On offense harden will get the ball to these guys when they can do the most damage. Embiid(FG%), Maxey(FG%), Kyrie(50/40/90), KD(3 point%) and Kawi(FG%) all set some kind of career shooting highs playing with harden. IF they have the 3 and D guys to play around harden and kawi, that should solve the transition D problems and depth/rebounding issues. The clippers need more depth and a PG max contract would kill that ability to sign quality depth. And to be sure PG is 34, a 4 year deal @ 55M makes no sense for the clippers.

I don't think you can move Norman Powell now given the loss of PG.
The team needs all the scoring it can get and Norm is the most aggressive scorer of the reserves(also Bones but at way lower efficiency)
I'm not sure where The Clippers stand now relative to the first and second aprons after the recent additions?
Both limit trade activity but the second apron is far more restrictive.
I think Terrance Mann has an advocate in Lawrence Frank so i don't expect him to be traded.
I think The Clippers also want to give Kawhi and Harden(and Coach Lue) a legitimate chance at staying in the postseason chase, so i expect they will try to retain Norman Powell as well.
The expiring contracts of PJ Tucker and Russell Westbrook are the ones they are probably trying to offload.
However i don't believe they can combine salaries in a deal now?
They might have to make a few one vs one trades.
I could see Amir Coffey also going out. Jones Jr can provide some of the things he provided.

    What do you think?

a huge part of being a PG is vision to pick apar4et the defense. Harden>>>Mann there. Mann is not a PG. I think mann will do much better with a guy like derrick jones who will guard the best opposing wing. Man was so focused on defense, he was burning energy. Now they can rotate mann onto a top scorer when needed but derick jones will handle the wings. People often overlook what happens when your guy has to guard a shai or an anthony edwards all game. The celtics rotate 3 or even 4 different defenders onto a guy like luka or kyrie. Im looking forward to seeing mann take a step back to a scorer and get that 3pt % up where it was a coupole years ago, so he can space the floor. I especially like the derrick jones move so Kawi doesnt have to play the best wing too many minutes in the regular season.

@@thomasblank2353 I agree with you 💯 about TMann on the defensive assignments. However Jones is not a starting player on a championship team; he can spell T Mann off the bench which (to your point) allows Mann to have more energy to do other things throughout the game. Batum or a bigger body that DJJ is needed to play PF so Kawhi can get back to being the other perimeter defender and allow Zu & Batum rim protection. Batum I. Old, but he can teach Kobe Brown how to play that position. Kobe has basically the same body type as Nico.
      Now to my original point, Mann doesn’t need to be a point guard in the literal sense of the position. He needs to push the pace and get the team into the offense before they have a chance to double Kawhi (& Harden), which will do a few things;
      1) increase the number of offensive possessions, which will
      2) result in more points scored.
      3) This also allows T Mann to be more aggressive on offense and create easier opportunities for players who run with him, like Kawhi, Norm, Big Zu & DJJ/Coffey.
Before Russ was signed Mann was just fine as the “initiator “ of the offense, as I am suggesting. The Clips had something like an 11-4 record with him as the primary ball handler getting into their sets.
As I said, Harden can still get 7 or 8 assist in the half court offense, he just won’t be walking the ball up the court and dribbling for 15 seconds into the clock. The Clippers are a much better team when the ball is moving and guys are not just standing around in the corner (Kawhi) while Harden “looks over the defense”. Thats a losing style of basketball, as the world witness in the Finals as Dallas got destroyed playing that exact style.
Small ball & that bull💩”I am a system” has not resulted in any championships throughout Hardens career and I don’t see that style winning ever with him as THE ball dominant player, on any team.

As a measure of chips is pretty bad way to evaluate. The clippers were 24th in offense efficiency in 2021, 16th in' 2023(westbrook)_ and 4th in 2024 with harden running the offense. IN his first year with the Brooklyn the nets were 2nd in the NBA in passes per game with harden running the offense. But with the clippers that passing didnt happen, too much isolation not enough off ball movement. Too many gu7uys standing around waiting for the rock or waiting for kawi or PG to make a move. Harden brings better offense, that is proven over the years, but the isolation tendency of the clippers needs to change. The youth will help defensively, just have to get those young guys involved in the offense. Last year Hardens usage rate was 20%, PG was 26.6% and Kawi was 26.5. Before hardens arrival PG was at 30% usage for 2 years with the clippers. As PG's usage rate dropped from 33 to 26.6 over 3 years with the clippers his FG% went from 42% to 47%. I think mann will get a shot and his FG% of ~50% indicates he should get more shots as he is still very efficient. I think both westbrook(25.5% usage) and PG took shots away from mann, more so than harden
