My favourite “making-of” is the entire process of how they made the theme song for “In The Soop” (a BTS on vacation reality show). BTS went from jamming on the piano in their vacation house, to Suga quickly putting together a guide on his laptop, to the final episode of them recording the whole song in the studio. It was hilarious and impressive at the same time because behind all the goofiness, you get to see how talented BTS are as musicians
I was thinking about this on my drive home this afternoon from hanging out with John this past week and definitely plan on having him check that out

You can see how hard they work , and the camera person too, for this "one take/shoot" MV . Lumpens team is one of the best in the whole music industry for me (and for sure in the Kpop industry)
One if the greatest mysteries is how such chaos just.. works. They just get stuff done while constantly laughing at each other to the point of constantly falling in the ground laughing at each other. The MV is actually perfect for the little time they put in. It has gone that JK who loved filming and video editing has now even directed a real full music video for Life Goes On. But SpineBreaker is special fun. FYI this is pretty much how Run BTS goes. 150 episodes of them being given a ridiculous mission or even more ridiculous game to play. In many ways it’s both a stress and creativity outlet for the guys and crack for Army. I mean here it was down time while in Chile on tour while hanging out in their hotel room.
They are just too hilarious.... LOL.... I love how unpretentious they are. It just makes their whole vibe as a group that much more endearing.

If you want to see them being unapologetically themselves, their variety show RUN BTS is THE WAY to go. You don't have to watch them in chronological order at all, but a lot of them have two-parters episodes or would refer to past episodes like a cool easter egg here and there. I recommend episode 24 "Zombie Run," because that SOLD me on how naturally funny they are.

Allow me to fill in some background information: They were on world tour here, this was in 2017; the "fancy" jackets were actually stage outfits they used at the concerts at that time. BTS GAYO (gayo = pop music) was a web show they did where they did funny stuff and it was a challenge for them on the show to make their own music video. BTS have filmed *lots of* shows over the years where they goof around, that's one reason why the fans feel so close to them because we have so much stuff like that. The impressive thing is that when they do things like that, you can always see how they work together efficiciently and carry out their tasks sincerely despite being unserious and goofy at the same time.
Spine breaker released on 2014. They making this MV for their variety show Gayo mission is on 2017 (it's when they are at Chile for WINGS world tour)
The live performance of this at Muster was EPIC…Jin’s spin at the end had JK laughing so hard he couldn’t sing
There are lots and lots of making-of videos but it’s the behind the scenes of their real music videos. But they’re still fun to watch.

This was during an episode of their weekly web series BTS Gayo, which was on v live ….and this was one of the challenges…that they had to make the MV entirely on their own,,I believe it was in a ridiculously short amount of time. Also, Jin did the choreo, even though he wasn’t considered one of the top dancers so the choreo is extra special, imo, because of that. In general they have a main performance director/choreographer (.Son Sungdeuk) who they use for the bulk of their work since the beginning. J- hope contributes quite a bit as well as main dancer I believe 💜💜💜
This was so fun, it is more like watching a run bts episode than watching a real music video but it is also one of my favorite videos of theirs.

I think watching the Save Me music video and then watching the making of after (make sure you find one with subtitles because the official making of doesn't have subs) it's really amazing to watch them work so hard because this is a one shot video from start to finish so they have to perform it over and over until they get it right!!

They were on tour in south America, thats why they were in the a Hotel (they mentioned they were in Chile) if i recall right it was 2017. The jackets were from their stage wordorbe.
And as so many mention already this was part of the BTS Gayo, that was a Show they used to do.

I filmed a lot of videos like this one with my friends, and we happen be 7 too... ad those are one of my favorite memories, we still laugh to this day wherever we remember.

Ohh I missed this MV and behind the scenes. This whole thing is just sooo hilariously creative!! Just a heads up - they are always this chaotic, loud and funny together! Lol. They have a lot of just random vids, like them just waiting backstage and fooling around with each other that's why ARMY loved how transparent and just real they are. It's how they connect with the fans since coming from a small company with no resources and connections, they don't get much chance to be invited in shows, etc. So they used YT and Vlive to truly connect with ARMY.
Vids like these are just the most fun to watch coz it's raw and real. Thanks for watching this with us John! 💜 Excited for the BTS week to start soonest!!!

They have behind the scenes /shooting sketches for all their music videos but nothing like Spine Breaker. That is definitely a special one-off. The next one you should watch is Save Me. You watch the video and think, ah this is a really simple m/v. Then you watch the shooting sketch and see what they went through. Can't wait for your reaction.💜

This was so much fun to watch no matter how many times I've watched it . I love watching it with new people to BTS because they get to see how goofy they can be because they don't take themselves too seriously. They maybe very hard working and they are the best group in the world but they allow themselves just to have fun. Like someone said it reminds me of the making of the in the soop theme song it was amazing. This video also reminds me of many of their dance practices where they just goofoff they are hilarious. Loved the reaction it was great.

You'll find that BTS has a lot of content. They have behind the scenes content of appearances, performances, and MVs, as well as dance practices. They have been releasing dance practices that have been done throughout the years every day so far on the BANGTANTV channel, leading up to the album release on Friday. Once you do listen to all of the songs that are performed at the MMA 2019 and watch it, they have dance practices for that performance if you feel like you want to watch those because you missed something or want to simply appreciate the dances. 💜💜💜
You have to watch Run BTS and In the Soop so you can see how funny and natural they are you will discover their personalities.

They are the same crackheads more than a decade ago (including training days) but only richer LOL i remember one of their Vlives, when thwy are nonstop cracking up, jhope or jimin said that it's funnier that they are like that even off cam, and everyone agrees and laughs again. You cannot fake these cracking and genuine love for your members for 1 decade. They are so lovable. It's their personality that made me really lovr them.

MV was released in 2017, but it was filmed during their 2015-2016 Wing World Tour in their hotel.
Thank you for your reaction and appreciation of our crackheads. They have had cameras recording just about every minute of their lives during practice, backstage and some events in their dorm e.g., their first birthday as a group. Also, since mainstream Kpop bigwigs wouldn't invite them to their tv shows they made their own content from the start and engaged their fans that way; that's why they can be so natural on camera. The song is addressed to young people, scolding them for wanting the expensive North Face padded jackets (called spine breakers because of the financial burden they put on parents) just to prove they can keep up. They performed the song live on their 5th Muster in sunglasses and gold lame jackets. So funny and typical Jin goofiness. You should also check out their Rookie King series that they made in 2013 as a parody of mainstream variety shows. Done on the cheap and really slapstick but with some gems. Jin got a penalty and had to run on the treadmill dressed in a red cheongsam.
Wow, that was amazing! I mean, I'd watched the MV once or twice before and never really reflected on how very, very "low key" it was - and then watching them put it together in a few hours, tops.
I did a year or two of short film productions (school) and an internship at a local TV station, and I remember how we spent FOREVER planning shots and trying to get them right and the timing and the lights and... and they just went for it and TA-DA!
(Although their editors are probably a LOT better than WE were, back in the day. ;) )
So funny seeing them brainstorm and come up with shots and ideas, and being reminded of how effortlessly good JK is with a camera...
You start to appreciate their sense of humor when you start watching videos like this without the heavy editing of compilation videos :D There are so many random videos like this where they do random things

Okay, since u might start watching more the off MV personas of BTS, just a little thing.. 😁... You might have to get used a bit to how they are really affectionate w/ each other, I hope Im not making this more awkward haha.. just that you have to understand sometimes for us who grew up not used to men being publicly loving towards each other might be a little new for some, in Korea it's normal but this is more so amplified by how close these boys are. It' all wholesome, their group dynamics are so endearing, the hyung line ( older brothers oldest Jin, next Suga, next Jhope then RM ) maknae line ( younger Jimin, V, JK) really truly love each other as brothers and family, thats why they're so chaotic like 7 rowdy brothers. They also fight and like to tease each other a lot. The members especially the extroverts one Jhope, Jimin and V loves to hug and comfort members a lot, but even the more reserved like RM more so Suga are also caring towards others. Thats all. :) These boys would run through a burning building for each other.

That is one of the reasons we love them so much. They are not afraid to be funny, make faces, etc. They make us laugh, cry, feel so many feelings you can't wait to see what they do next. We never get tired of them, and they have so much content for us, we can watch just them and be happy. No need for anything else.

I would be sold with this music video and song too.
Every idol has "obligation" to attend tv shows to be close to their fans and earn money for their companies. Since BTS was always outcast and not loved too much by tv stations they created their own show Run BTS which is very similar to this challenge they were assigned in Chile in that hotel room. They just give them mission and within few hours they are recording them and make good show of that. Run BTS is free to watch on weverse and many episodes (150+) are uploaded on youtube too. Their lives which are usually very boring (stuck with each others in one apartment, not going out to avoid scandals, no vacations) so this are very good chances for them to loosen little bit and even go some places and do sometimes very unique things and show that to ARMY (food, games, Korean culture, traveling/Bon Voyage). And they are filmed for years so they are very comfortable in the front of cameras (that is what you saw, casual and very natural talks) for those shows or for memories. Earlier they probably had 1 camera which was following them, now they have 7+ cameras which is following each of them separately so you can see each memeber's reaction :) Those shows are good for them and their mental health and ARMY loves to see their lives behind scene when they are all but popular singers. Great memories for all. Some "Run BTS" episodes are HILARIOUS... unforgettable!

Have I just watched all you BTS videos...maybe...lol I love your reactions and how you are slowly going down the ARMY rabbit hole.
You should take a look at their earlier stuff, it was far more old school hiphop/rap/rock, very different from today but you will probably enjoy it. Their debut song No More Dream is great, We are bulletproof is also great...but maybe not the MV for that one haha. Danger and N.O. are other good ones as well as hip-hop lover. Basically anything off their first 2 albums is alittle grungier...if that's a word haha
Also if you want to see more of just BTS chaos/dancing, their War of Hormone song has like 3 different dance practice videos that get progressively more hilarious. 💯 recommend

The funny thing about Jin doing the choreo is that he along with RM are considered the least talented in their dancing, they make work hard but they are known to not be dancers. For this video they let him do the choreo because if he comes up with it they know they can get it easily. But Im sure J-Hope (who actually does some choreo) gave that to Jin because it also was fun. Like most of the other things in this video they did everything for fun.
This is hilarious, Jungkook of BTS has directed there Life goes on MV (this one is not a hilarious one, but serious.) Jungkook has always been into video making and that MV is kind off the result of his passion slowly growing.
It was delightful seeing Jungkook's interest in Cinematography as far back as American Hustle Life 💜🫰🏾

Jhope and Jimin are the ones who do choreography the most... Jin is actually the one who most struggle with dance so it's kinda an inside joke they pick him to do the choreo.. and actually he nade one of the most funny choreos they have😂💜
Jin doesn't struggle
He and Namjoon just take more time to learn their dances unlike the other members and are uncomfortable doing solo dances
But on stage all of them are on bar with each other
@@mirajin92 You need to watch more behind the scenes content, even themselves have said it. Jin and RM are the ones who struggle the most with dance and there's nothing wrong with that. Actually putting the same expectatives than with Jhope or Jimin is kinda unfair to them. We need to recognize their weakness and strengths to really appreciate their efforts...
And even tho dance don't come as natural for them, as it does for the rest of members, and they need more time with choreos.. I agree they are still able to keep a high level of skill

And we all now that the 3J's are unmatched in their area and solo stages like the Lie/boy meets evil perf or 2018 Mama Idol
Jimin and Jhope themselves praise Jin's technique when he talks down about his skills
So yes Jin takes more time and effort to practice than the rest and takes time to practice hard alone so that he doesn't let his members down
But I don't think it is fair to describe him as "struggling"

"takes more time and effort" that's what "struggles" means.. it has nothing to do with the final result, as I said we know Jin can do a high quality performance.. it just takes him a little longer than the rest, that's it.. is not that deep and it doesn't dismiss his skills at all, actually is even more impressive...
bts actually two elevator pranks one was big hit doing prank on bts. the other one on ellen show where bts hid in the fake elevator so when fans that came to the show got a nice surprise hehe it was hilarious

If you want more of BTS being ‘real’ you should watch their show ‘Run BTS’ it’s 180 something episodes of fun, hilarity, missions and games that they’ve been doing since almost the beginning. You’ll see them grow … I would say mature but seriously they’re too hysterical
