    That polish removal was A+. I keep my toenails pretty short too. However, much of what is represented in pedicure spaces is a longer look which doesn’t really complement me. It’s nice to see a shorter nail for pedicures.

Since mine are uneven I keep the nails a bit long to give the illusion that they are of proper height. It's not nasty when you keep it clean. In fact,our toe nails are cleanest because we don't touch anything with them. Unlike finger nails which we use constantly

    I bought Kerasal on the internet, I couldn't find it in the store. It really did a big difference on my hands and feet. The skin on the back of my hands is quite ruined. Every winter the skin flares up, a little bit of cold, and it starts to crack and these scars became quite deep. Kerasal helped me smoothen the skin. It's much better now.
    I had a little bit of a problem with an ingrown toe nail, it looks like that Kerasal healed the infection and that the skin and the nail loosened, became softer, and suddenly I didn't have a problem anymore.

      1. Invest in a foot massaging device (No idea if it provides results as good as a massage from a massage at the salon, so research is recommended)

    Thank you what a relaxing and informative video! I'm outside in a park today since the weather is finally summery in London and just did my pedi. For tools I have a travel kit by Twezerman, it's got a little pushy which was good enough (maybe not as sharp as the tool you're using). Didn't paint the nails, I quite like them natural if well cared for. I also like my toenails short. For my hands, I was obsessed with growing them very long, sometimes I still do, however I find short nail fit better my life style and it's easier to maintain them. Also my hands and feet are quite small so I find the short length quite balanced.

      Metal tools just wash with brush, soap and water and soak 10 min in 70% alcohol. This is for personal use :)

      @@TheSalonLifeThank you ❤️ I'd like to also do it for my mother as well. She's older now, and she can't do it on her own.

    When you use a curette beneath the nail, how does that not damage the hyponychium and cause separation of the nail from the nail bed?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  3 месяца назад +5

      Just like when you gently clean under the nails. You have to do this gently without separating the nail from the skin.

    Well, you have just turned the light on for me. I tear the tops of my toenails up with the cuticle pusher, even though I use the blue cross. My pusher is too sharp.

    The outer edge of my right big toe is sore. I just soaked my feet in warm water and used a file on my feet. It did help some.

    Lol to actually do my cuticle remover and filing, I lie in bed, propped up and bring my foot up to my face😂 It's the only way I can see things good enough, reasonably comfortably. I do my painting either in a chair like this or put my feet up on the counter.

    hi! is it necessary to remove the cuticle if you're not going to paint the nails? always had that question! love your content! it has been a few months already since I've been following your tips and I'll send you pictures really soon, I'm thrilled about the results!!! 💜 big hugs from Extremadura!

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  3 месяца назад +5

      Hola! No, the cuticle removal is purely cosmetic and not really necessary unless you are applying polish or you want a very neat look :))
      But if you are nudging the skin fold and the skin around the nails is healthy and elastic and you are using gentle exfoliant then the cuticle will not really be visible.

      @metanoia_p 3 месяца назад +2

      @@TheSalonLife great!! that's why I was asking, it isn't really visible most of the time, I have pretty healthy skin and the little pieces of cuticle don't really bother me at all. Thank you so much

    Thank you so much for sharing this video! I pretty much do what you are doing here. But it’s nice to see it done by a professional. This video is very clear and easy for anyone to follow.
    I have pedicure tools like you are using here, but the one that has the curved point that you use to push the cuticles back I don’t have and I was wondering if you could reply and tell me where you got it and what’s the name of the tool. Thanks again for sharing!

    Ok did I miss what kind of polish remover? How do you get the polish to remove in one piece??? (Or is this the dazzle dry?) dazzle dry is regular polish or gel?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  27 дней назад +1

      It is Dazzle Dry but any nail polish can remove like this. I used generic pure acetone. Just follow my steps

    I was juts thinking the other day, when my back was aching from bending over from edge of the bathtub / short stool to my feet on the ground, how helpful it would be to know what body position you would have to do your own pedicure. Thanks!
