- I'm in Italy to spec my dream Ferrari Daytona SP3! Join me in Maranello with the new LEGO® Technic® Ferrari Daytona SP3, for a visit to the Atelier alongside the real Icona series hypercar. We're having a complete run through of the options behind my perfect spec for a Daytona SP3!
Earlier this year, I drove my brand new Ferrari SF90 Stradale to visit LEGO House in Billund, Denmark on the Where's Shmee tour, for a first ever look at the latest brand new LEGO set 42143, the LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 and also to explore the secret vault. However, the Daytona SP3 journey continues this time in Maranello, the hometown of Ferrari themselves!
The LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 features 3,778 pieces, a gearbox with sequential transmission, a V12 engine with active pistons, working differential and steering, and also with a removable roof, doors and engine bonnet that can be opened, and so many more details to take a look at up-close. Seeing it alongside the real thing, allows us an opportunity to take in all of the details, joined by Flavio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer at Ferrari, and also Will Thorogood, Head of Design LEGO Group.
We're in the Atelier at Ferrari's HQ, with the full configurator loaded to build a spec for the Daytona SP3 and this is where we're joined by Carlo Palazzani, Head of Sports Cars Exterior Design and Francesca, Personalistaion Specialist, to run through the options and create something unique.
For a LEGO fan, this could not be more welcome. Following a strong history of Ferrari models in various styles over the years, the new Daytona SP3 from Ferrari's Icona series, makes for the perfect addition to the LEGO automotive range. With the cars set to roll out of the Maranello factory in the near future, there's plenty of time to get building from now!

Let's be real here. As much as Shmee came to spec his dream Sp3 at the factory( which is fantastic btw), he came over to spec his 296 GTS, which I suspect he will release a video much later👀👀

Love how the Italians share their design language about the sp3. They do know at Ferrari how to bring across passion in their motor vehicles!
I love how they move to the interior the guy gives this little speech about how important the design is and how you have to have it in these colours so you can see this important design feature with the seats etc.. and Tim's just like "yeah...so can we get rid of the brown and go for black" lol

I'm sorry but those butt fugly doo doo brown seats are just not it in this day and age. The black and yellow looks so much better with the exterior colors. It's really a no brainer

Well you did the spec for the 296gts for sure, the other car I presume is either the sf90 versione special and you will replace you current sf90 with that or you have gone for a purosang, hopefully you got an early allocation for the V12 and not the V8 because the V12 have all sold out now. Either way congrats shmee and can’t wait to see the specs you have chose!

Clicked the video thinking, ohh I'd go for a nice deep purple and maybe yellow accents. Not usually a fan of brushed aluminum but it really looks great and classy. Hope to see this spec actually get done. Love it

Love the purple and yellow well done it's my belief that in 5 10 or 20 year that livery would be even more spectacular.
Looking at the specs and colors on the screen, it doesn’t look that bad. Purple and yellow seem to flow together along with the carbon fiber components as well but curious to see it all together after getting built and him collecting it.

I love the unique design of the Daytona SP3. It has so much presence and it looks retro and futuristic at the same time. Flavio Manzoni did a great job. It's an absolutely gorgeous V12 masterpiece.

I wonder when Lego will design windows for their models, everything is spot on. All they need is a thin clear plastic that can be snapped into place at the corners and edges. They can definitely do it.
