    The map of Paradise is just beyond fascinating for me. When the game came out in 2008, 8-year old me literally did nothing else other than exploring every single corner of Paradise City, so I guess this is where my fascination comes from. And thanks to the power of mods, we can even see stuff that we never knew of before! Even I learned something new about the map I thought I know so well with your video, thanks a lot!
    Many things are just weird, of course. Like the random flying diner or everything that is below the actual map, but I guess this map being so "unfinished" is what makes it so interesting!

      Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed it, and that I could even surprise a Paradise expert such as yourself. And indeed, for something that was "unfinished", it's also remarkable how much made it into the remaster that was also there in the original!
      And also, as you haven't remarked on it, you do make a small cameo in this video if you were unaware.

      Yes, I have noticed it! I'm very honored to be part of it, thank you so much!

    Me being a console peasant, I can't exactly do stuff like this, so thanks for showing us! There's so many games I'd love to look through with a free cam, this was one of them, I'd love to see more! It's cool and funny how they did some things

      You be surprised how much of this you can do on a console. Go look up my burnout vids from the past, most of them are all on ps3 and 4 then ps5. This also worked on xbox too.

    Thank you so much for uploading this. I can’t tell you how many dozens of hours I spent as a kid trying to angle my car into awkward positions or showtime my car into just the right spot just to see inaccessible areas of the game. Ever since launch in 2008 I’ve been eager to see the city from perspectives otherwise forbidden by invisible walls. This was a welcome sight, even now in 2023.
    I might look into this mod and try to get it installed for myself. Would love to become a “Paradise City Photographer”

      You're welcome, I glad you like the content!
      I'd highly recommend checking it out, it's a good mod. Back when I used reddit a lot more I actually did something of a photo-shoot for Paradise, naturally it won't compare to stuff you can see for yourself, but if you'd like to check that out, here's a link:

    I guess those traffic lights were there to implement when the traffic car should start/stop after/while paying the tolls.

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  11 месяцев назад +3

      Nope, they're an essential part of the event start script, because all events start with the traffic lights changing to green.
      Rather than make an entirely different script for the 4 events that would require it, they just put the lights underground.

    The cruise ship at 2:05 doesn't seem to crash in the original game, I was messing around with a trainer in TUB, found it, approached it, and it didn't crash. I imagine this has something to do with the fact textures from the original game aren't compatible with the Remastered

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  Год назад +3

      Oh really? I'll check it out if I can. I have heard that Remastered is based off a slightly earlier build of the game, and for example, the art test area under the mountain isn't there in TUB. I wasn't confident on this though, so I didn't report it in the video. It may just be an oddity with that game version then.

      What trainer did you use? I would like to be able to explore the map.

  • @Near_Void
    @Near_Void 4 месяца назад +2

    I believe the diner in the first clip by the racetrack is leftover assets from Alpha when there was roads going south from the mountains to a industrial district south of the Southbay bridge.
    IIRC there was terrain down very south

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  4 месяца назад +2

      Yep, there was terrain down there! At least according to the map first presented to the press.
      However, I'm more inclined to say this is a test scene, as the trees are all of different types and a section is laid out in an entirely straight line.

  • @Sharkmonger

    Great video as always!
    Have you poked around the early builds floating around online? There's some interesting early placeholder assets and parts of the map that were heavily modified for the final game.

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  Год назад +4

      Thanks! And thanks for watching another video!
      I have not actually. I'm aware of the existence of the early builds, but sadly I've never actually poked around in one. I'll certainly make it the topic of a future video or more if there's extra stuff to be seen!

  • @MatthewDiLeva
    @MatthewDiLeva Год назад +8

    2:16 It crashes because that cruise ship was there during the November 2006 and February 2007 builds of the game, back when the removed NASCAR Stadium and extra road were place where the Coastguard HQ is now.
    Edit: 4:54 This area never existed on the old generation consoles; it was simply the ramp and that’s it. Never have I ever seen the roads nor building in the game’s history.

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  Год назад +6

      I don't think the game would crash purely because the model is from an older build, surely? I would have thought there'd be more to it than that. Unless the environment modelling process changed between builds?

    • @MatthewDiLeva
      @MatthewDiLeva Год назад +4

      @@OmniGlitcher Not only the racing stadium, but there was an extra road from Patterson Avenue that was also cut from the game, and the cruise ship was literally next to said cut road as it loaded right next to it when you got close to it.
      And I do believe the environment models can change between builds since the early builds looked extremely and vastly different to what we have now.
      Regardless, this is just my own reasonable guess as to why the game crashes. I would love to be proven wrong in some way, genuinely.

    • @daphunkyzzindahouse
      @daphunkyzzindahouse 2 месяца назад +1

      Well, in short, the thing crashes because the TRK (environment model file) it's sitting in is attempting to load too many "neighbours" with content (the map is divided in TRKs, usually small squares that determine which TRK to load based on your current position and the ship is literally right next to the other explaining why it occurs when you get closer). It's basically trying to render almost all Big Surf Island from that point at once and die because if it. Same reason it doesn't crash in TUB as there was nothing there and the devs never updated this part since you aren't supposed to be there, you can edit that with Bundle Manager now easily to get a better look.

    I was aware of a few things here since I saw another user move around with a free camera. Still learned a couple things 😮
    It's so bizarre to see you being able to go past the sky globe, and be left with nothingness if you go further.
    The zoom-outs reminded me of Shesez 😂

    • @OmniGlitcher
      @OmniGlitcher  Год назад +3

      Being able to move past the sky dome was certainly a surprise. Especially as the game crashes if you attempt to leave the map via the X or Z axes.
      I may have taken a little inspiration from him certainly! I also think it's just a pretty nice way to end off the video, especially those areas aren't on the map.

      A bizarre surprise but a welcome one, and what a finicky limitation to get past the sky dome.

      @OmniGlitcher  Год назад +4

      I'm less familiar with Paradise than 2/3/4. I do have more content planned for it eventually though, I just need to know exactly what the limitations are with it. There's a bunch of betas around online for example, but whether I can organise that into video(s) remains to be seen.

    just a additional info for ur segment 6:15 . nearly every roof is possible to drive on. if my memory serve me correct (but highly possible im wrong) buildings got created by pushing them out of the ground so basicly all roofs been orginal ground. bp specially the orginal not that remaster screwjob holds a lot of hidden things. btw 4:52 that test area is fully driveable plus it wasnt there in the OG game. the ramp that u see there (inside of the houses) should be the exact middle of the map and was the connection point between players. (if some1 joining the lobby it shows him till he is fully connected). if u do a followup video i recomment to check out the story behind the tayler j tower and the hidden area there

      I list all songs used in a video at the beginning of my videos!
      But they're "Battle!! (Torna)" from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and "Time to Fight! (Bionis Shoulder)" from Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.
      Glad you like the music!
