I don't know if it's just me projecting, but I get the feeling that after Carrie left, Mark kind of adopted a bit of her style, her humour, more so than he already had... I don't know, it's really endearing. Might even be completely subconscious, but it warms the heart, man. Like a part of her is still in Mark.
alex ad No, absolutely agree, he's always been a blast. What I meant was that, since Carrie, he sorta took some of her mannerisms, a bit more of her attitude. I'm sure he doesn't even realize it. And it's a beautiful thing to watch.
Very interesting. I think you're right. Good observation. Carrie was such a huge personality that maybe Mark just held back. I don't know. Still, it's something to think about.
Vicente Fernandez 100% Mark is definitely not letting anyone forget Carrie. This legacy has been too much for him and the whole world to just leave Carrie’s lovely personality and charisma behind so he picked it up and kept moving along with it.

its funny because a fan asked him a few weeks after Episode 7 about J J and left saying something like "Jar Jar Abrams ruined star wars for me." And it became a meme that J J is Jar Jar, ruining the franchise. Its nice to see Mark is still in on the gag after a year. Its Johns face though when he says "I heard it was Jar Jar Abrams" He is like "Oh shit!"
Mark plays "the old fool" to bring you dark comedic gold only he could get away with He knows they are ruining the franchise for a buck and he doesn't care about hiding his distaste

You can see it in everything mark is doing in this questioning about the new star wars. Body Language is Telling a lot.

I love how 'Boyega is getting knowledge and asked Mark how to take in how to be and feel as a loved as an amazing character from an awesome Star Wars Trilogy
"Nobody" as in "me and my own personal echo-chamber". Boyega is great, he has a natural charisma which I personally felt ('cos I don't claim to speak for the world) the prequel trilogy (and with a few exceptions, Rogue One) were seriously lacking in.
Now that is good news.It took me a bit to get used to him as well. I love how the cast is really gelled well together I hope he better in the sec.one which I'am going to see very soon.
I studied theatre studies with Gwen at college and she was always that hilarious. She ripped the shiz out of Brecht and Stanislavsky. Literally haven't seen her for 20yrs and she's nailing it right now. She is ridiculously intelligent.

I feel so bad for Gwendoline. They have her up there like she's an actual character in this trilogy. Didn't she just show up to dip out...again... And I adore her.
Gwendoline with a 100% straight face: "Yes, that's his real name. And then he changed it because it might conflict with the series IN SOME WAY." XDDDDDDDD #dying
I reckon mark holds back a lot of his natural casual humour Made me laugh when gwendoline is on about brienne and plasma saying "you know what??" Building suspense for her response And he just goes "what" And when he says about gwendoline being excited about being part of star wars and then John and kellie "these 2 couldn't care less"
It's cool to see Mark just listening and smiling as John, Kelly and Gwen tell their stories about when they first saw star wars, knowing that he was the protagonist of the whole thing they were watching.
I just have say how brilliant these true conversations are. We are always shown these talented people in a very narrow spotlight, so to see their true thoughts and to hear about their personal experiences is very refreshing and allows the cast to be more relatable.
yeah. she kept grabbing his leg and wouldnt stop. lol I think shes got a crush on Mark, but who wouldn't!? Luke Skywalker the legend and is handsome still!
i think phasma would kill brienne because brienne cares about fighting with honor but phasma doesnt so she will survive and win however she must and be savage
Phasma is good at Melee combat too. She has her staff, even then their armor is pretty good. So then imma say what Gwen said “WhAt cOuLd tHey AcCoMplIsH tOgEthErR?”
Kelly Marie Tran is so precious! And she made such a great point towards the end there. There are people out there, myself included, who have fallen in love with her character already, and we've barely even gotten a glimpse of her in trailers yet. I think we have one line from her, and about 2 seconds with of footage in total. I remember seeing Kylo Ren in the first teaser for TFA, and I was like "That guy is cool, I wanna do that costume. I'm GOING to do that costume" And I didn't even know what his face looked like. I was instantly drawn to the character on the basis that he, or she (I didn't know at the time) looked really cool, and I wanted to be a fan of them. Fast forward 2-3 years and I've got the costume, a few replica props, and a bunch of toys and figures. And so this year, during Celebration, they introduced Rose. And I had almost the exact same reaction as I did with Kylo Ren. I saw her and immediately was like "I want to be a fan of this character". Now, I'm not looking to do the whole costume, or own every toy for her. But I'm still a huge fan of Rose Tico already, and the movie isn't even out yet. I just love the idea of her character.
It definitely is, but I still think her character was fantastic. The Finn/Rose story arc was ultimately a dead end for the story of the film, but the whole Canto Bight thing they go through is one big waste of time. It feels like they could've shortened a lot of that sequence, but instead they let it take up a good 30 minutes of the movie. But as far as Rose goes, I really like how she's introduced, and I'm pretty happy with where they took her as a character. Her introduction is one of my favourite little character moments in the movie.
The only part I didnt like was the *SPOILER ALERT DON'T KEEP READING THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI SPOILER* kiss. It was so out of the pace
She didn't let anyone down. Absolutely loved her in that film. She's adorable yet there's this steely determination about her which does not feel forced at all. All four of them in this interview are fantastic.
He did go thru extensive facial surgery because of his car crash between Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back... that's why they included his injuries in the film at the very beginning.
@John, @Kelly... my parents don’t get it either. 🤔 when I tell them how they need to watch Star Wars, they think something is wrong with me and just give me this look 👀... like I don’t get what the noise is about
My mum once watched it when it came out but doesn't remember anything in the movie. She says it's because the movie was probably shit. I convinced her to watch every movie with me now though
Mark Hamill=my first childhood hero.....I was a 5 year old little girl watching Luke discover what it means to be a Jedi. I’m my head I was a Jedi chick, always have been. May the force be with you Luke, always:) Absolutely love the new movies!!! 💜💜💜
12:30 john and kelly is me and my brotherwhen my dad and mom telling stories that is pretty boring to hear and 12:37 mark is my dad getting mad at us lol
Mark has told these anecdotes a dozen or more times just on this press tour alone, and like his castmates, I'm still not tired of hearing them. Mark is just a natural storyteller and I don't think there's anything he could read and not make more interesting just by being the one to deliver it.
6:21. I never thought of it like that! It’s true Luke actually looked like all the faith drained from him when Vader said “No. I am your father” and it looked like Luke just wanted to die when he let go openly
i had the same experience with gwendoline. my parents also presented it to me and my siblings as this really cool, really epic, super popular movie! pretty cool that to know that someone else went through that too!
When Captain phasma says" I never thought I would be in a star wars movie and have the director ask me ""what do you think about your character "" !!!!!" That tells me everything I need to know about Ruin Johnson and his lack of understanding of Star Wars. I understand how actors don't have time to learn about every story they act in, but the director is supposed to have the Vision of the story. They are supposed to understand the characters and the story being told.... not ask the actors on set how the actors are supposed to act.... That's Gwendoline Christie secretly saying (The director in Star Wars didn't know what he was doing and she didn't get any directing cues...) this makes sense how the game of thrones guys names where floated for directing at the time, People were complaining about the director and Disney thought why not get Gwendoline's old directors...
I am not as old as Gwendoline Christie but I share the story of "this is Star Wars" at 6 years of age, but that was during the time when attack of the clones was nearing release, so I saw 4, 5 and 6, first and then watched 123 as it should be, im a die hard fan I love Star Wars
I need more stuff like this because with fan questions they always ask such interesting stuff. It also gives us as an audience a chance to see more of their personalities. ❤
Looking at Kelly's answer about her character for Asian-American is heartbreaking. She didn't realize that few months later the shitty fanbase harassed her so bad because of her character.
Actually, anyone that "falls for" characters before they even see their film, solely because of their race, is just a racist, not a fan. They probably never even bothered to see their film, they were just "proud" there was "finally" less characters of those races they don't like, and more of their own race.
When the second question for kelly came from Eugene L. from Sherman Oaks CA, i instantly thought of Eugene Lee Yang from buzzfeed LA and honestly i wouldnt be surprised if that was actually him that asked the question
Gwens ridiculous loyalty to sarcasm makes every interview so wonderfully chaotic- and this format is perfect for her
Mark Hamill is awesome, he’s a Jedi Master in real life schooling these younglings.
