  • It's a new year and I want a fresh start ! I am decluttering everything! I thought I would turn this into a series so I could show you an in depth look at all my stuff. Also... having this all in one video would be way too long lol. This week I tackled my bathroom which has all of my beauty products, makeup, skincare, hair products etc. I used to have WAY more stuff in here, tons of makeup, a million perfumes and hair products (think youtube makeup collection videos.... yes it was that extreme). I decluttered a lot during the pandemic and I feel much more relaxed. I think having excess products stressed me ou. I am also not proud of the amount of products I threw out without even using because they were expired. This time around I have less products, this is about 5% of what I used to have, and I feel much happier. While this isn't as extreme of a declutter I want to only have things I actually use. I want to have products for day to day, and some special occasion things. And this also gives me the opportunity to try out new products and be excited to use something new VS being desensitized to buying new makeup/beauty products. Not sure if that makes sense.
    Anyway I know its a lot of talking but I hope you like this video and make sure you stay tuned for the next parts which includes my closet, drawers, accessories and jewellery.

    Loved this video! I always enjoy watching decluttering videos. It makes me want to start decluttering at my home. As far as raising the first aid kit and other items, you could use a wire rack that you find in the kitchen organization section of a store like Target or Walmart. It's a wire or metal mesh shelf with four thin legs that allows you to put items underneath it as well as on top.

    The rubbing alcohol doesn't spoil not sure why they put an expiring date on it. You can still use it.
    I like your bathroom vanity and cupboards. Great video!

      oops a little too late I already got rid of it... I didn't want to risk it because when I googled it said it does expire after a few years because of the ratio between water and alcohol and it looses some effectiveness.

    I would love to see you find vintage tins or glass decanters to store your mouthwash and such 😊 love a good thrift vlog and just seeing the hunt!

      I used to have a liquid decanter for the mouthwash but it was hard to clean... hmm maybe I need another shape. Thats a great idea! Maybe I'lll do a thrift vlog after I'm done all of my decluttering!

    I would look for a vintage decanter for your mouthwash. Like what you use for whiskey. I've done that before in past and it looks really fancy and cute on the counter.

      Thats what I used to have It looks much prettier ! But the one I had was really hard to clean and it left a white cast on the inside of the glass even after washing it with a brush and everything. Maybe it was the material it was made of??? not sure I'll see if I can find another one !

      @@CarePinglo that never happened to me so maybe it was the container 🤔 who knows. I just had a pressed glass one - not expensive crystal one or anything.

    That 40s mirror, you could showcase the packaging on a shelf with other decor, it would look nice!

    I exclusively use those little powder puffs with my pressed powder! They’re fantastic for getting that vintage matte look, and great for setting everything! Plus you can wash them so great for sustainability too

      Perfect !! I'm going to give that a try today with pressed power! I usually use a big brush and I press it on my face (So a similar effect) but power puffs looks so much prettier lol. Thank you !!

    I really wanted to get a vintage hairdryer, too (I was interested un a bonnet dryer), but I learned that prior to sometime in the 1970s, before it was stopped, most manufacturers used asbestos in their hairdryers, which poses a danger because the old asbestos fibers tend to break down over time and be blown out into the air around us!
    Since I don't want to be inhaling any asbestos, I gave up the idea of getting one, but I hope someday soon they'll either make copies of vintage hairdryers or modify the old ones to be safe.
    The modern bonnet dryers available don't seem to have the best reviews or results for the most part (and certainly don't look as pretty as the vintage ones), but I may still try one someday; maybe you could make a demo and review of the one you have sometime before getting rid of it. I'm wondering if it took too long to dry your hair, or if you didn't use rollers back when you tried it, etc.? Would be interesting to find out!

    This was a fun video! I love your use of pretty vintage tins, glass jars, and boxes for storage. I think we should be using our pretty vintage items functionally and not just keep them in storage. I'm trying to do more of that myself. Side note: you might want to keep medications/pills in their original container for safety reasons, so you have the directions and expiration date handy and know what everything is. My Mom puts all her pills in a big ziploc all mixed up and I hate it 🤣- just a thought! Also, I'm really looking forward to your closet declutter video!

    I'm ( trying) to declutter! 😣

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hahaha its hard !! Just start small and then go back and declutter the same area a few months later. That will help you realize what you use and not use. It gets easier each time

    Would you ever hang that wooden storage shelf on a wall? 😊

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  7 месяцев назад

      Hmmm I don't think so, I already have two large paintings on the wall so I don't want it to be too cluttered. I have considered getting a tall cabinet because I have a spot for it, but I haven't come across one. If I see one that works at a thrift store or something I would get it but I'm not in a rush

      @@CarePingloI don't know where exactly you can get it - because I'm in Russia, lol - but over here in like a Dollar Store we can get a plastic shelf with like metallic wire legs that can be folded or unfolded. I get these for cabinets like this that are too tall for practical use of space. I unfold the legs and just place it there sorta like a pedestal and it creates a shelf to prop up whatever you need, and I also have the space underneath this shelf, so it doubles the room in the cabinet!

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  7 месяцев назад +1

      Oh really ??? they sell them at every store that sells soap , grocery stores, Wal mart, convenience stores. Maybe you just haven't been specifically looking for it on the shelf haha, they boxes are smaller than other soaps so they are easy to miss

    I understand the desire to get a vintage hairdryer but a lot of them were made with asbestos components, so please dont use it.
