- Earlier this year, we showed off a development build of CorOS 3.0.0 to Sweetwater employees during Office Hours. Here are their reactions!
We are incredibly excited to announce that CorOS 3.0.0 featuring Plugin Compatibility, supporting Archetype: Plini X and Archetype: Gojira X, will launch on July 31st, 2024.

I love my FM3, but I’m glad to see other products getting better too. Everyone deserves great tone.
I have the FM3 and the QC and I've played a lot more with the QC lately. I still love the FM3 but for me it has started to sound a bit boxy after using the QC. I'm going to spend tomorrow visiting the FM3 again and creating a preset ^^

Got into victory amps cuz of Rabea…ended up with a Victory Countess, which I believe is called “the Jack” now, and I absolutely love it. Tried the Soldano plug in when it came out and it completely changed my mind on the digital stuff and made me a huge Neural nerd. Got a QC about two months ago since I loved all of the plug ins and it was the last time I touched my pedalboard. So stoked for this update! Thanks so much Neural DSP! Can’t wait to mess with the plug ins on the QC.

@@perkaholic8787that is true, I wonder if it will come out with the OS? So far all we’ve heard is that any plugin with the X will be cross platform. Why the OP asked for an update to Rabea. I 2nd that request for an X update. It’s my favorite plugin by far.

It’s really cool, but FractalAudio definitely has it beat for features. I won’t say it sounds better, because that’s purely opinion, but the amount of stuff you can do and parameters you can mess with is far greater on something like an FM9 or an AxeFX.
@@juliansedor7101Yes, the QC‘s UI/UX and form factor cannot be beat and the sound quality is on par, but the FM9 has like twice the amount of amp models and effects to choose from, which would sometimes be interesting to have.
@@juliansedor7101 That's expected from a company that already had existed for a decade when Neural was founded. The QC has been out for 4 years only so I think they're doing pretty great for how young it is compared to the competition.
@@juliansedor7101 being able to change lots of extra parameters doesn't make it better. You can change sag, bias etc. on the Helix, but I bet most people don't bother because they don't understand them.
If ultimate control is the only judge of quality, then why isn't everyone using laptops?

I’ve been contemplating a pedal enclosure computer build to do this plugin thing and probably would’ve spent twice as much time & money to do it. I’m glad someone was smarter & faster than me!
So excited. Gonna be worth the wait. Gonna be nice using the plugins in the QC to save a little bit of CPU in the DAW, especially being to mix them together without opening multiple windows

Better late than never I guess. I feel like part of the guitar community has exited the "modeling" gear circle of life portion and are going back to real amps but the ones with either IR loaders built in or using IR loaders on stage to maintain a cab-less setup (which is also what I've ended up doing)

I'm very thankful that these updates are coming and I hope all the developers can enjoy a well deserved holiday.
I also really hope that soon in future updates NDSP will implement the features that are the most wished for in the official forum by the community (some since 2021). An awesome community full of great ideas :)
Right now we are stil missing features or experiencing bugs:
- not able to assign a function to the rotary knobs so you can tweak sounds live (adjust feedback, hold reverb, etc)...
- the revert option closes the device screen and you don't see what you reverted
- there's ground hum in many setups (headphones/standalone), because there's no grounding electric plug included and no option in the device to either ground by itself with its charger (would need a new one) or through an external device
- the LEDs are not displaying the colours of the inactive scenes in scene mode, eben though they do it in the stomp mode
- there's no option to mute all inputs of the tuner (including returns) - they only included the option for input 1 and 2
- no constant tuner shown
- no latency monitor shown
- there's a latency compensation introducing significant latency when you use row 3. If you connect row 1 and 2 in an analogue way, there's no latency...
- no input and output + block monitoring possibility
- no drum machine or metronome
- no access to the hard drive to store and play music (playback tracks!)
- a Bluetooth antenna is installed, but disabled in the software (would be amazing to connect your phone to and play music)
+ many many more, feel free to comment...
On top of this: Imagine there was some sort of community driven possibility to implement features. Like max4live in Ableton - this would make Neural and the Quad Cortex a true versatile beast!
The Quad Cortex is a great device already, but still we are many users that feel like Neural is actually giving away an incredible amount of the Quad Cortex potential...
Since we do not get much feedback from Neural in the official forum - I really hope our voices will be heard elsewhere and the matters addressed soon :)

I really need a Quad Cortex, it's the absolute unit of our time and i'll surely get one whenever i can!

Everything is great except for one oversight. Why cant the windows app not allow you to search profiles and load and test them like the Kemper rig manager? I HATE HATE HATE the mobile bullcrap. Its useful in very little situations.

I know it's probably not possible but if you can load plugins it would be awesome to load any plugin say Strymon big sky plugin. I thought COR OS 3.0 was supposed to have a new cloud reverb but it looks like that is being left out.

Like in the video, what if I want the Gojira reverb with the Rabea fuzz or whatever without having several plugins in a chain, which is the only way to do it now.
what about Fortin X?
This is interesting because ive been gigging for the last year by taking a full desktop computer and running Helix Native, Neural Amp Modeler and Neural Fortin Cali within Gig Performer 4 straight into the built in interface of a Behringer XR18 and controlled by a harley benton midi pedal. Nothing they're advertising here about using components of the neural plugins is new to me and my full setup only cost me about 800 euro.
Everything they're creaming about can already be done without buying thier expensive piece of hardware and the biggest advantage ive found with running a PC setup is that its actually locally repairable. Theres plenty of PC repair shops where I live and component's are cheap.
lol you haul a desktop pc to your gigs? So then you have to haul a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and interface too and find somewhere to set up. Seems like there should be a better solution 🤔
For sure, but it's not practical and there's a bigger barrier for people trying to do that sort of ting

@@yeeaahBUDDYWell I live in a tourist resort and drive a scooter to gigs. Everything including my fold away table fits in my box on the bike. I think people underestimate how small a PC can be these days and if I was driving a car to gigs this would be a completely moot point.
I'm not knocking Neural or people who want the Quad Cortex for convenience. I use the Fortin Cali plugin for every gig and I love it. I just don't get the significance of this update. The idea of a closed system hardware device is not exciting to me. If they made it run 3rd party plugins then Id take notice.

@@craigsi16 I specifically mean without having to open an instance of the full plugin just to turn everything off to access the blocks in the order you want to use them.
I bought the QC early June expecting 3.0 to be a proper update with a good amount of new effects but it looks like somebody's shortlist got implemented. As I'm not interested in the plugins I expect that I will find this update a bit underwhelming.
On the positive side, I do like the unit a lot, the sound quality is really good but for 1600 bucks I expected more and certainly not having to pay for more effects.
I hope for quicker releases with more effects
Neural have said that they're going to continue making amps and effects exclusively for the QC, so I'd expect more devices with like the 3.1 update. 3.0 is more of an infrastructure upgrade from what I understand.

I really wish they would update/refresh the timebased effects (reverbs/delays etc..) on this thing. Its the only bad thing about this unit. They are just not good enough. This update is great for all the plugin users, but for the rest of us that just want a functional unit as is, and not spend a shit ton extra for plugins, they must speed up the updates and add amps and fx or they are going to loose a lot of customers.
Agreed, I love my QC but they need to improve their vintage/clean tones too. My QC sounds nothing close to my deluxe reverb.

So its based on plugins so is there any delay or is it just like any other guitar processor ?
Depending on how crazy the patch, or how complex the blocks being used are (pitch shift for example is very intensive), I've measured a response time of 5ms round trip for a general amp, OD, cab, reverb and delay patch on mine.
