I'm blown away by the tones! I was lucky enough to get a demo from Tony at Makenoise in Asheville, he was getting some huge squelchy tones with metallic tails. Gorgeous! Also the little synth was heavier than I expected because of the steel bottom, it stayed where you put it. Nice vid, thanks for posting.
Maybe I missed something but I think you could sub in a stereo 1/8" cable between the SQ-1 and 0-Coast's MIDI interfaces, and get rid of the blue CV/Gate cables. That's what I'm doing.
What on earth do you mean by “both coasts” of synthesis? That makes no sense. I used to live on the South Coast, at Bournemouth and Bognor, but what kind of synthesis is associated with the East Coast, for example? What do Arbroath, Scarborough, Skegness or Southend have to do with a particular synthesis style? Okay, let’s move over to the West Coast, then. Newquay, Weston-super-Mare, Blackpool or Mull of Kintyre? And if this noiseocoast thing represents the halfway point, that’d be where I am now in London, I suppose. Grime certainly has a specific synthesis approach, so why not call this the Thames Gateway? It could have been called the Gallions Reach, just up the road on the Docklands, in Newham.
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I'll clarify anyways. He was referring to the two flavors of analog synthesis in the USA during the 60s and 70s: Buchla from the west and Moog from the east.
Will do! Not sure what was wrong with me - it was super rainy and I had had to hang around all day waiting for a last minute passport, so maybe I wasn't in the best frame of mind anyway :)
Yo! The intro loop is from this... www.discogs.com/Shawlands-Arcade-Rad-Zod1/release/7531938 which is one of the releases on our in-house record label. All other audio from the 0-Coast though! (and there were plenty Make Noise modules used to make that record too!)
Hi I purchased the 0 coast from threewave music it was a demo. I got it home plugged it in with a midi keyboard and started to route some patches. I thought the sounds I heard were not as powerful as what I saw in the RUclips videos so I decided to re install the firmware. Now it has one sound and the sound is a high pitched sound that won’t change or go up and down in octave no matter what key on the midi controller I press. I am totally new to this kind of semi modular synthesis but I would think the 0 coast would work without needing to be a pro? am I missing a setup process to get this thing going or could it be fried? Thanks in advance anthony Dilauri are there any setup out of the box videos?
Hi , Great video ,I've been thinking about getting something semi modular, would you recommend this for a modular beginner or would a Moog Mother or something be a better choice ? Any advice would be appreciated ..
Absolutely stacks! Random CV out, Triangle and Square OSC outs, EOC Trig out from the Slope generator, Slope CV output, END Trig Output from the Contour generator, Contour CV output and CV/Gate outputs from any incoming MIDI signal. How's that?
Sounds good to me, decided to take the punge come payday. It'll be my first venture into modular but have some effects with CV in, looking forward to pairing it with my Knas Ekdahl in particular!
I bought my 0 Coast from you guys a year ago after seeing this video. Money well spent and no mistake. It has such an amazing tone about it.
You look so stoked to be playing with it. Definitely convinced me to pick one up

Thanks, man. It's an amazing bit of kit!
nice. vid! explained a synth in a very staright forward and clear way. i got mine on pre-order. cant wait to get my hands on this bad boy!
Really great video!
I've bought a few modules from you guys; great to see you doing unboxings and stuff. Subbed!

yaaaaaaaaas
Fanksh!
Great video Aleks! You need to share more videos like this. I already wanted it, now I want it more :-D
Ha ha. Job done then :) Thanks!
It's a Friday night I couldn't wait for the answer ;)
Really interested in getting one of these. It seems to cover a lot of bases.
Best tabletop synth under £500 in our book!
Great review, and great humour, thank you! Liked and subscribed
"So let's see what it does...." And boom, you're in an alien soundscape realm. Good job. I want.
amazing little box!
I'm getting mine next week:)
quality demo from rubadub! :)
want it..absolutely.
It comes with paper? With words? AND pictures? Wow. I just have to get one of these now as I've always wanted paper with words and pictures.
Nice textural sounds ;)

Nured Superb lol.
Some form of sourcasm (sic) ?
The coasts refer to two opposing styles, Bob Moog's Western musical sound compared to the preexistent eastern experimental synthesis
Never heard of Buchla and Moog? :D :D
you made me buy one, ship it soooooon pleeeaaase!
Coming to you as quickly as we can possibly get it! :)
great & fun video, thanks ! :)
Dat wavefolder
;)
Great video. I went into your shop once when I was in G but I was too nervous to have a go on any of the modular stuff for some reason! Oh well.
Will do! Not sure what was wrong with me - it was super rainy and I had had to hang around all day waiting for a last minute passport, so maybe I wasn't in the best frame of mind anyway :)
Haha, yea I will.
Hi! Great review! Where does the "intro loop" (from 0:00 till 0:04) come from? Does it come from the 0 coast?

is this available in Spain yet? Or Thomann?
I'm about to throw my money in your direction (if it's in stock!). Can I sync it from midi out of an MPC for sequencing? Cheers
Yep. Comes with supplied 3.5mm to 5pin Din MIDI.... www.rubadub.co.uk/make-noise-0-coast-desktop-synthesizer and it's in stock :)

Sold.....Thanks Aleks couldn't put it off any longer ,Just ordered...
Can you plug a Pocket Operator (rhythm) into this as the sequencer?
You could use the PO to clock it using it's sync output. Hope that helps!
sick Traptoys shirt
Nice review Aleks. You sold it to me....but now my brain hurts.
Nice
whoa
What Cv out options do you have for modulating other semi modular gear with this?
Absolutely stacks! Random CV out, Triangle and Square OSC outs, EOC Trig out from the Slope generator, Slope CV output, END Trig Output from the Contour generator, Contour CV output and CV/Gate outputs from any incoming MIDI signal. How's that?

Slope 'cycle' on > Rise/Fall set fully CW > Slope out to Filter Cutoff in = Long LFO-y filter sweep :)
Any update on when you'll be back in stock?
Hopefully not much longer than another 2 weeks!
want.
This guy is so handsome. Where can I get one?
The guy or the 0-Coast? :)
Oh I do like those sounds around the four minute mark. Many thanks for such good Make Noise porn!
Rubadub?
Bored Af Dub. Two ducks in a tub.
Oh, and here’s me attempting to do waveshaping and temporal wavefudging in iVCS3: ruclips.net/video/5uD-XwZuXMc/видео.html
