This is the real deal. Cheryl Lynn sounds sensational on this. In the summer of 1981, we'd play this over and over again on the weekends while we were getting ready to go out, have a couple of cocktails in the kitchen, and then hit our favorite bar where we were regulars. What a blast we had. Cheryl was our motivator - she got us going !!!! Still love this record.
Gosh, this is real music (disco, funk). Cheryl Lynn is underrated.

This song set dance floors ablaze back in the day. This was the quintessential disco jam. Thank you Cheryl Lynn and Ray Parker Jnr for this brilliant joint. I'm shaking things up in December, 2022.

Absolutely! The irony is that the guy playing the killer bassline on this tune, Allen McGrier wasn't even credited in the liner notes of the original album release I don't believe!!

I'm 15 and this song gave me instant goosebumps...i've been listening to so many songs from the 70s and 80s for atleast 3 years now, this song is definitely at the top for me, just close your eyes and you really feel like you're in a club in 1981 dancing your butt off!

Alejandro hit it on the button. Cheryl Lynn's music was so awesome & fluent. That era was the best! Don't care what anybody else says! You went into the night life feeling the music. Even before you hit the dance floor or Disco parties, you had a couple of drinks. It put you into the party mood & you were ready! The way these youngsters party today, is too superficial.They really don't seem to feel music, they just kind of imitate us. The music today, seems also kind of superficial & too commercial. The great musical artists from back in the day, sang songs from the heart & soul. You got to see & feel their real emotions into their music, & the party atmosphere was so exciting, energetic yet kind of relaxing, inviting , but, most of all, Fluent, one thing lead s to another Naturally! Sure do miss those days, to me, they were the best.

So cause you don't know Disco was one of the mainstream genre of the XX and everyone liked this. When you go to a disco party, everyone don't care what the color of your skin. It was one of the only place white and black people don't care of them. And hippie already disappeared in the late 60s and beginning 70s. I agree with MrAntiSell out. How can you not like this music? A woman who can really sing. Unfortunately, hip hop has destroyed so many people in our culture form appreciating artists who can really sing back in the day. It is sad that we lost so much of the Cheryl Lynns, Gladys Knights, Aretha Franklins, Donna Summers, Mariah Carey, etc. Some younger people think that Beyonce is the standard for R & B and a great vocalist which is why they would give a thumbs down to Cheryl's great vocals.
