good timing, I just found my first puffball yesterday
why do you use such a large piece of the mushroom ? mine always turn green unless I use a very small piece (2mm/3 or less)

It’s all about sterility - size doesn’t matter

@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi You say all about being sterile....as you don't flame sterilize between culture grabs.

Hi. I wanted to know whether spawns can be stored in paper bags or freezer paper? Will affect the mycelium run?

@@MaxS535 Giant puffballs (calvatia gigantea) are actually saprobic.
unsure of the species in the video, Gary needs to have a PCR test run & I am sure he knows someone for that

Heyy brother! So I noticed you have a vertical laminar flow hood. I've mostly just seen horizontal flow hoods being used in mycology so Im curious if youve had any issues like more contam or anything vertical one? I heard the main con is you cant stack stuff.. but any other drawbacks? Thanks

ruclips.net/video/v5l5yNCxsBs/видео.html check out this video - I use both in my lab now. The vertical hood I like for doing tissue culture work and pouring plates and the horizontal hood I use for substrate inoculations

PSA: Don't eat raw wild mushrooms, ever. Glad you didn't experience any I'll side effects, but this is how you give yourself food poisoning or serious GI upset.
