There doesn’t seem to be any really robust systems in place and everything is seemingly done on the spot, instead of it being planned for. I understand that these weather conditions cause frequent and difficult breakdowns for these old vintage planes but, it seems that a more regular maintenance schedule should catch some of these issues before they happen or before they present themselves in flight. The employees all seem hardworking but, Joe seems like a really terrible boss to work for as well as being incredibly stubborn, pigheaded, impulsive and toxic. I mean, they didn’t bring in a new senior manager to streamline things and increase operational efficiency for nothing..

Yeah, he does seem like an insufferable, selfish, stubborn and pigheaded pr1ck. Nothing is ever his fault and he is the only one that can do anything right… in his mind. His entire operation is a complete mess and I honestly don’t know how they are hanging on to staff, let alone their contracts for courier / parcel delivery with all of the complaints they get and mistakes they make, even though that is what was paying their bills. Plus, even in the arctic, people now demand that their cargo / packages get there in the time that the courier said it would and, for the price they charge and if it isn’t delivered in that window, the customer is refunded. That’s how these companies work now and a company like Buffalo can’t make those sort of guarantees when their planes are so old and so poorly maintained, basically piecemeal maintenance is done instead of the safety and predictability of a more reliable, regular and rigorous maintenance schedule, because they either can’t find the necessary parts, don’t have sufficiently qualified staff to work on, fix or install them and or can’t afford the part because these planes are so old and parts are so rare that, each of the parts is treated like an antique item and thus fetches that type of higher prices. There is no benefit to hang on to such an old fleet at this point. The reason more budget conscious airlines and specifically freight carriers purchase used and older planes is because they have a much lower purchase price, can be acquired much more quickly than waiting for Boeing / Airbus-Bombardier/ Embraer etc. to finish an aircraft on an already backed up production line. The planes have a proven service record and can be counted on to be reliable as well as have things like engines upgraded for better efficiency or internal systems like the cockpit upgraded for better and more modern operation. Airlines can afford to pay more in maintenance and fuel to gain those arguably significant benefits and older planes often have an abundance of spare parts with a majority of them being mothballed or salvaged for parts but, those benefits disappear and things all become much more expensive when you go from operating older aircraft like Boeing 757s and 767s that were released 40 years ago or MD-11s or DC-10s and other Tri-Jets that make sense for cargo but, not passenger operations to literal vintage aircraft that are more often found inside an Aerospace museum and that entered service nearly a century ago in 1935.
For the life of me I can not think how anyone can work for this horrendous fancily. That girl gave them everything and they did not look after her at all. When she left, that Joe treated her like crap, as they treat everyone there, and the others all said it is her fault. You have got to be joking.
I’m not a airplane technician I am a auto technician and anytime I work on a hydraulic system that is kinda big I put the system on a vacuum this gets rid of air in the system I’m surprised they don’t do that on air planes hydraulic systems with their system being so big. It’s easy for air to get trapped in big systems.
Audrey should have had a set down with Joe and told him her concerns. She just walked into the middle of a meeting and told him I have another job. She was given a lot of favor right off the bat and she wasted it by not talking to Joe. .

Companies like this have such a high turn over due to lack of accountability and management. They really don't GAF about pilots flying they are way more interested in keeping them on the ground loading,cleaning and delivering materials than letting them build time in the aircraft in case they get the urge to go to a scheduled airline.Not at all knocking Buffalo airways It just makes economic sense. Rampers are harder to hire and keep than pilots who are a dime a dozen and cost alot more.

The regulations and pressures in this type of business are unreal and you can't play around with people with prima donna attitudes. It's even ten times worse today with the kids' entitlement. Yes, she started out great but by leaving (which was totally understandable) she lost her shot. Life is unfair and unfortunately for her, her timing wasn't good. Had her mother not got sick and if she hadn't have left she would likely have been flying. Poop happens. Have you ever been to the Canadian arctic mate? Isolated communities of mostly poor indigenous people with dirt landing strips and no real facilities. What else were they supposed to do? They have no parts or facilities, those are in Yellowknife, the plane had to get back there to get a proper fix. People rely on these aircraft to get their food and supplies. They are probably scheduled for runs most days of the week to deliver perishable goods. Whatever best practice is in aircraft maintenance simply isn't possible in this part of the world.
Joe hates to spend time to train people and they dont use the training. She was not given a chance in 2 years, Seems like these planes are a disaster waiting to happen. So many episode have an emergency or failure of major component. Maybe best not to fly these.
