Love Zippo. I own and carry Zippos from late 1936 to late 2016. All my 36' through 41' zippos work with the original inserts too. They just don't make um like that anymore. Not that the new ones are poor quality. Even all the ones I have from the 40's, 50's and 60's just feel different and sound different. You just have to hold and use one of the originals. There a piece of art. Thanks for the video. You can't go wrong EDCing a Zippo lighter.
For extra excitement I like to spill the fuel AOTFP (all over the fucking place), especially on my hands... That way you get a real adrenaline rush when you light it and wait to see if the flame spreads to your hand or if enough of it evaporated that you survive. Good times.
I will definitely buy it. I saw it closely in a shop and it's fantastic. I have another one chrome finish with the United States emblem engraved but I want to keep it new and I don't use it. I have another one to use.
Zippo owns the Ronsonol lighter fuel brand, true, but that doesn't mean that they had the physical Ronsonol plants change their formulas, processing equipment, techniques, suppliers, or anything else for that effects quality over to the Zippo way. They just collect in on Ronsonol profits. Owning a former competitor's branded product hardly ever means anyone changes those techniques to match that of their own, but just allows them to make profit from a former competitors brand. If anything the competitor who buys another brand is more likely to keep the lesser of the brands exactly that, inferior, so as to ensure more consumers come back to their own brand.
@@rhsking05 Actually I've found the yellow bottle junk gums up zippos. I've personally had it take lighters that lit every time for YEAR and turn them into lighters you have to strike repeatedly to light. Stick to Zippo fluid. It's shit cheap. 3-5$ for 12oz. Why ruin a great lighter for a few bucks?
@@MrChamberlaindavidd I'll have to take your word for it. Honestly, I have been sticking to Zippo brand fuel, that stuff in the tin can (perhaps key variable?). Perhaps Ronsonol really is junk.
How does this patina in relation to other finishes? Looks like an alternative to the "Antique" finish that may age nicer and be closer to a satin finish in time.
If its dryin up fast u bought a cheap wallmart $20 zippo lighter throw it in the trash or send it back to zippo life time warranty on all their lighters next time spend 30ish buy one from a smoke shop u wont regret it thats been my experience been a collector the Zippos for over 20 years and carry one everyday generally your lighter should last with fluid roughly a month maybe a little bit over it depends I'm a two-pack-a-day smoker roughly well one to two myn last for over a month before I have to fill them again
Quit smoking 14 months ago cold turkey. Seen no reason to vape being all your doing is substituting one habit for another. Any how I find zippos leak and are heavy. I just carry a bic when I need fire works true every time. I guess I am not one of the cool guys hahaahahahaah

Sonny Gunz Thanks man, I have only had a few real Zippos over the years. I do carry this one quite a bit... Thanks for the comment!
If you didnt know, the lid of a Zippo is designed to pop open the nozzle of their fluid bottles.
I know now! Thanks for the tip...
Great tip! But i think the nozzle is designed to be opened by the lid.
Good Vid Bud.....always nice when fluid spills all over the dam place ;) ThumbZ UP !!!
+DeeMelo Knives lol, thanks man!

I carry Zippo. I also keep a couple of Flints in the fill compartment for backup.
+L chavez That's a good idea, thanks for the heads up...

That’s the thing with Zippos, you get one and then want another one... thanks for watching.
That's not the instruction manual, it's the lifetime warranty 😂
Hey did you know that lighter fluid is excellent at removing sticker adhesive?
Nope, thanks for the heads up...
rubbing alcohol is better

With all that said, you're probably fine with the Ronsonol lighter fuel... lol.

Zippos make me wanna start smoking again 🤣
Haha 👍
I do miss that click of a Zippo. I don't miss the fluid leaking in your pocket and burning your skin. Glad I switched to vaping. Good video my friend.
Thanks IZN!
Dang that's a nice Zippo son, got my eyes open for that one now...
+EveryDay Knife Guy I can't stop playing with it, the zippo...
About to get exactly tat model. Do people cover the ean/upc code? Lol ;D
I didn’t 👍

It has darkened up a bit, its my only brass one so I don't know how it compares...
Well thank you :) Tumbled might be easier than sanding it myself if it darkens nice. Are the edges high polish like with the brushed?
In Europe zippos don't always have the red stickers, the legislation is different over here.
Interesting, thanks for the comment 👍
@@TheSmokinApe you're welcome.
I have owned a couple over the years but have lost them

If I can find one over here for anything near 15 bucks I'm going to jump on it!
+nicestknives I can't put it down, been playing with it all day...
Brass insert? DAMN son
+EveryDay Knife Guy Baller insert...
Anyone know if the thunderbird inserts fit in the zippo Armor cases?
Sorry man, I don’t
@@TheSmokinApe They dont fit, butane inserts are loose on an armor case, but i think some duct tape over the insert should do the trick.
biggun982 nice tip 👍
am I the one guy that doesn't like zippo they just dry out to fast
