Why Prassana is getting less mentions? Mohini is fantastic no doubt, but Prassana's fusion of the sitar and jazz style was mindblowing....and the small cameo by the flutist was superb...

It’s not about individual talent, I’ve never seen a group of musicians collectively enjoy, laugh and smile as this orchestra did in this clip. Sit down in front of a classical orchestra playing the greats of classical music and you will never see the musicians enjoying themselves so much!!!!!

The original song was released in 1993, imagine that!! AR Rahman was so ahead of his time. And so few still recognize his talent, it breaks my heart. Honestly, I think ARR deserved at least 10 Oscars, and he finally got it for one of his most average creation. Jai Ho was shit when compared to his many original Tamil language songs.

What an amazing performance! Not only Prasanna and Mohini Dey are perfect, the whole ensemble shines. Can you imagine that after watching this (and the other videos of the same concert) I embarked on a now one year long journey through a nearly unlimited world of Indian music? Not only pop/fusion and Bollywood songs - the Berklee Indian Ensemble also directed me to Indian Classical Music (both Hindustani & Carnatic). There are so many talented musicians in and from India out there! Bands/singers like Maati Baani, Nirali Kartik, Sona Mohapatra, Chaar Hazaari, Agam, The Kheyaal-E-Jazz Projekt, all the wonderful artists on KappaTV’s Music Mojo (also here on youtube) and many many more. Though I have a very wide musical listening background across nearly every genre, I am currently listening to about 75% Indian music and I am not getting tired.

I wish that your ensemble would come to Melbourne Australia. the people whose chose to give this performance a thumbs down do not know what music is. I am a 60 year old who plays a bit of bass guitar and have grown up with country , pop, rock, jazz, and all the other modern b/s music, but I listen to your songs almost everyday. Mohini and Prassana are excellent but the whole ensemble makes it a totally melodious experience, Your diversity of nationalities only proves that we are all human beings and the same. Man is the demon who makes us believe that we are all different.

The Berkelee team loves the "Thiruda Thiruda" album a lot. It has been one of the best albums of ARR. Natural sounds and synthetic sounds seamlessly integrated.
