- It may sound like a silly question, but if you take a look at the circumstances and events in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it kind of DOES beg the question! How WAS Rexy captured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?
Keep in mind that this is merely me explaining what COULD have happened, with my opinion based on facts from the movies and some behind the scenes research.
Maybe they had prepared to capture Rexy before, so they just led her into a trap like they did in Jurassic World. Maybe.

*Personally the thing I like about the Jurassic world movies is that a lot of things are left out later to be announced by directors or actors and even shown in deleted scenes this is why I believe that Universal should start making more short films like the battle on Little Rock....*
*My personal opinion is that Rexy was tired from sprinting jumping into the ocean and swimming back to shore but I do remind you that Rexy roared very loudly most likely alerting the dino traffickers giving them a pinpoint on rexy's location giving them time to prepare for a possible encounter may I also remind that after Claire and Franklin accessed the GPS tracking system, Wheatley might have been able to transfer over GPS tracking system to a portable device Rexy showing up to the area or close to the area might have been sheer luck, with sufficient equipment, Manpower and a couple tranquilizers they were able to submit Rexy quickly and put her in a cage*
*I believe it is as you say, there must have been a lapse of maybe 15 - 20 minutes as Owen Claire and Franklin found and swam onto a safe place on Shore*
If it was a spinosaurus that would've been a different story when it comes to swimming.

If you read the book, you would know that there are some scientists who had a theory that trex could be buoyant. Again it’s a theory, but it’s a theory that the writer went along with, and if the trex can swim in the book there is no reason it can’t swim in the movie

Well I have a theory about how our girl rexy was captured. Like you said earlier Rexy could've made it to shore and the mercenaries could have been making some final rounds searching for the T rex since Rexy would've brought in the big bucks and they may have had a goat in there in the cage with them. The mercenaries saw rexy and got a head of her the direction she was going they, they set out the trap with the goat inside, rexy was hungry and ate the goat, and the gate was closed behind her. When Owen said "she's tranquilized" she was clearly on the truck. So here's what happened the mercenaries brought rexy back to the docks where there was a truck just for her ,the mercs shot her and put her inside of the truck. Or something else could've happened but that's what theory's are for.
If you go back to the scene where Mills is talking to Claire, you see him flipping through some profiles of the dino's while looking for Blue. A couple flicks before Blue, we get a glimpse of Rexy. They had her number anyways, and, remember when they realised that the only reason they needed Claire was for her handprint. She held the key to the tracking chips in each dino. That chip might have been how they found the Queen.
My only issue is when Rexy ran away, she was headed toward the ocean, but at an angle. Maybe she went into the trees that we see for a few seconds and toward a beach.

Here is my theory they spent indoraptor.
I like your thinking. Personally I believe the Rex did not go into the water, but ran another way where she got to outrun the lava ash and into the path of the hunters. Apparently they were indeed ready with an easy deployable cage, lowered onto a truck, tranquilized and moved unto the boat. But like you I don't really care and suspend disbelieve :)
No, she actually was in the water. During the time it took for Owen to get Claire & Franklin out of the sphere & for them to swim to shore would give her enough time to reach land

I’m so happy to find a video on this topic. Me and my friends have had quite a few discussions attempting to figure this out. Nothing really covers all the bases and it really just seems to come down to ‘because movie’ type logic. Considering how Rexy continues to follow this ‘because movie’ logic throughout the rest of the rest of the film (ie going back to sleep after Owen woke it up and not escaping its cage in the Lockwood manor when a stygimoloch could) I don’t think you could find a rational explanation
I think maybe as she was running she went some else where and then she got tired and took a break and then was captured but she was outta the way of the pyroclastic flow.

What if rexy got back on the beach went “PHEW that was a hard swim gosh darn my arms are sore I’m gonna just lay down here and take a quick break” the the mercenaries were like “ooooooo me take this” then quickly loaded it up while it was tired and just went “what ever ima just break out like I did in that old park so ima just SLEEEEP” then story done the end
One critical thing to keep in mind is while she is strong and powerful, she is slowing down age wise since the average Rex lived about 30 years or so. That combined with jumping into the water and swimming would have some affect and maybe enough to make her easier to catch. Plus the hunter may have set up near shorelines in hoping to catch last minute stragglers.

I think its because rexy is getting old and her stamina probably has been decreasing over the years and if you watch rexy's movement you can see she is not as fast as to when she was in the first jurassic park film and maybe the fight with the indominus rex broke a few of rexy bone's and my theory is rexy is an old and battle worn tyranosaurus and she was running for her life and when she is swiming she probably is able to reach the shor before owen and the other's or that rexy went to a different shor before colapsing out of exhaustion and the mercenary's probaly has the cage for a different dinosaur but saw rexy and decided to capture her instead and before loading her into the ship the mercenary's shoot a tranquiliser at rexy making her fall asleep and thats my theory

That was for the animatronic in the first movie.
That confirmation was complete garbage if it's the same one I'm thinking of. A single storyboard from a scene that was never filmed doesn't negate the prevalence of it in the community and the filmmakers themselves.

Actually it was Roberta, Muldoon never liked the T-Rex and refused to give her a personalized name, she then got the name Rexy, nothing special, just a Y added to Rex because of her being female.
@@drewgagneaux5193 Actually, the nickname comes from the Novel. In the novel Muldoon nicknames her Rexy, similarly to how he named the Raptor's Alpha "The Big One". This is because in the novel there were TWO Tyrannosaurus Rex in the paddock, thus the nickname was to differentiate between the adult one (Rexy) and the juvenile Rex.

T.Rex could swim , it can swim faster than it could run , remember : T.Rex had a long and very muscular tail , it had big strong legs , Also dinosaurs had air sacks in their skeletons , and also they had air sacks attached to their lungs , just like birds , so they can easily float . Rexy could swim really well.

Personally I think they did tranq her and it worked at they got her in. However I think they didn’t administer too much so that she wouldn’t go into cardiac arrest like the buck in the lost world. Therefore she woke up earlier than expected when they were flying her to the ship. Once there they tranquillized her a bit more heavily but not enough to physically harm her. Great vid Jeremy

@@mlmstudio1563 yea but the dpg website states that there was also at least 1 spino living on nublar during the time jurassic world was happening! maybe its the one that lived on isla sorna and was transported to isla nublar or they cloned another one but unfortinetly it died out before the events of jurassic world fallen kingdom...
What really ?
The Spinosaurus is one of the species that fell back into extinction according to the DPG website. Also the Spino skeleton in Jurassic World is our friend from JP3. Hence the symbolism of revenge and justice for the JP3 T-Rex when Rexy crashed through and destroyed the skeleton.

I do see it as a possibility that Rexy WAS tranqulized when Owen said, simply because of one very important source; the novel.
Now, in case you haven't read it--which you definitely should and Klayton Fioriti even mentioned this scene on his channel--but basically there was a scene where one of the T-Rexes was trying to eat Lex and Tim before falling asleep under the waterfall so they could escape. Why you may ask? Because Muldoon and Gennaro were trying to capture Rexy and Muldoon shot two of something at her--I say something because I don't exactly remember what it is--and this was WAY before The Waterfall Scene where she finally gave in to what Muldoon had previously shot at her. It took two attempts and took a long time but it still worked nonetheless, further proving that he didn't miss.
Now, I obviously know that the novel is very different from the movie version, but I personally do think that the same principle can apply for this scene as well but, hey, that's just my opinion.
Okay, set the scene. The mercenaries knew that they did not have much time till the volcano blew, they had to get all of the dinosaurs onto the ship and quick. They had used the tracker that was put in Rexy to locate and tranquilized her. I’m not sure how they put her in the cage, but a small tranquilizer plus the added tiredness from swimming, they just loaded her up and brought her to the ship. Now like I said, a small tranquilizer would have done the job, and once they got her back to the ship, they gave her a stronger one. But that’s just my opinion. (And plus I know that they could put her in the cage because of JP 2) Please tell me what’s wrong and what’s fishy about my theory.

wow, a year late but I'd like to point out how you've answered your own problem; if a 20+ ton animal has to fall off of a cliff, fight to get to the surface, then swim to shore against the coastal currents- She's going to be exhausted. Perhaps the chinook was flying over with an empty cage towards the Arcadia when they spotted the almost unconsciously fatigued tyrannosaurus lying on a different beach to the one Owen, Claire and Franklin wash up on, where they decided to land and secure her before taking her to the ship.
If you see in Jurassic world 1 you can see at the end when Rexy killed Indom Rex .Rexy ran off and probably ended on the same island so she was probably captured 2 times
I personally think she was captured similar to the pachesephalosaurus in the Lordy world but with paralysing darts to paralyse her this would explain her being only able to roar and her not shake about in the cage and I think theg used paralysing darts with the limited time they had before the eruption and simply tranquillised her before being out in her box thing so they could actually fit her inside without trouble and also because of her size and strength maybe the tranquilliser darts would last long enough to capture her and put her in the cage and for her to stay tranquillised for a while after, also for the way the cage is positioned around rexy, there is a “floor” on the cage under rexy’s stomach and with her tranquillised would be physically impossible to lift a 8 ton Dinosaur onto a cage like that, that’s one theory bht also the trap could be possible as well, for example rexy is running away from the volcano and they shot into her leg causing great pain in her foot or a harpoon gun so no surgery would need to take place and would simply be able to pull the dart out but either way she is shot causing great pain in her foot causing her to trip into the cage but this cage is open and is just bats on the floor and hinges either side holding closable doors and once she is inside the cage they quickly close it and lock it shut and the helicopter is called over for transportation, this cage probably wasn’t actually made for rexy herself but had to be the size of her if they they found her alive, but the cage was probably made for other Dinosaurs like ankylosaurus so the tail would be able to snap any ropes or chains but the cage was just used for rexy anyway and for both reasons still ended in rexy being tranquillised after her capture and I don’t think they did it fast because from my opinion it looked like claire and Owen woke up on the beach so I think they woke up a while after I agree on that and I also think rexy did swim and my evidence for this is, rexy isn’t a pure T. rex, all the Dinosaurs have unique animals mixed within their dna allowing her to swim like she could be part crocodilian
My theory: a mercenary runs into the cage and rexy chases after him. Rexy crawls trying to fit in the cage. As she gets in they close it at just the right time to capture her. Evidence: the jp 2015 arcade shows her trying to kill with no intents of stopping until being captured. I think because the plots are so similar they took inpiration from the game to try to make it make sense
Before a tranquilizer will take time to effect and before that the animal would be quite tipsy like a drunk person so it would be easy to move them
I'd say that the Rex probably jumped off the cliff, and due to genetically enhanced super strong bones that all the dinos seem to posses, the fall didn't kill her instantly, but seriously winded her, then after making it to shore, she was likely needing to rest when the hunters found her. calling in for the heavy chopper with a special quick scoop cage made specifically for the larger dinos, they tranqed Rexy, scooped her up, deposited her in the transport cage, and loaded her into the ship.
Maybe that helicopter was specifically looking for Rexy.
Well since Rexy is a good swimmer, Rexy can teach me how to swim because i don't know how to swim LOL.
Rexy was tired out from swimming and they hit her with a tranq dart but the dart hadn't fully put Rexy asleep when they were lifting her away back to the boat.
To answer how they got her in before they took effect,she was tired after all that swimming,anything would be.
Point :In the 2nd movie then did Frank a trex twice . so ingen does have data on what works and doesn't and practice doing it

Maybe the tranlizers (spelled that wrong) weren't powerful enough to make Rexy sleep. So she was just yawning?
The dinosaur swimming in Franklin's shot is clearly not a T-Rex, a T-Rex is way bigger than that. it seems more like a Parasaurolophus.

Obviously one that is a parasaurolophus that was swimming and two Rexy was headed in a different direction and three mercenaries probably did catch Rexy like that.
I've watched it on repeat a lot and you will see when Owen has the gun and shoots the gyro sphere you can see rexy and you will see her face too showing rexy was swimming around the gyro sphere to move
Pyroclastic flow hits Owen and he's not a charred skeleton. You can't look too deeply at this film.
Idea: rexy was tranquilize when she was tranquillized they put her on and she woke up on the helicopter

Rexy was disoriented from the volcano blast you can see it messes her up in the scene. If she hit the water more disorientation and I think that they quickly tranquilized her to bring her to the ground where they pinned her down wit tethers like the stego and then built the cage around her. She was awake but unable to do much

The reason Rexy was moving around in the cage on the chopper was probably the result of one of those “because it would look cool” moments

My guess, Rexy was smart.
After she killed the Carno, she walks off to the right, it you are looking at Mt. Sibo.
The pyroclastic flow acts like a river of water and flows in the path of least resistance. The humans and most other dinos are stupid and run in the same path of least resistance. Smart Rexy walks off to the right, up a hill and into the forest.
But the mercenaries know she is smart so they have set up a trap for her, tranquilized her, and loaded her into the cage.
The movement we see is because they don’t want to overdo it and kill her, so she is out enough for them to cage her, but not enough to be fully asleep.
I have to disagree. That theropod close to Franklin is far too small to be Rexy and the color scheme doesn't match, while the one far from Claire's side is more appropriately sized and the body shape matches her more than a Carnotaurus. As for how she was caught, I assume the mercenaries baited her into the cage and closed it similar to how they got her into Lockwood's manor later on, and the tranquilizers didn't take effect until she had settled onto the boat. But having a chopper and a cage there ready to go is very convenient.
What's insane is that the chopper seen carrying her is about 100 feet long, and clearly Rexy is about half that length in those scenes. Crazy CGI there.
Mabey they Tranqed Rexy, got her in the Cage, but as Time Passed, she Woke up. They Didn't want to Hear all the Roaring so they Tranqed her Again, only for Owen and Claire to Have her Wake Up.
I kinda think the mercenaries caught her in the water. It's been over 20 years and I'm sure that the triangle cage technology has gotten better so it automatically came up on the sides or something

My theory is like the first half of your theory but to answer Rexy being tranked. I think Rexy was captured by a cage that didn’t need Rexy be tranked. Also In real life you could Guess about something but you can be right or wrong and I think Owen guessed Rexy was tranked. You would also have to consider it would be a few hours to get to Northern California so Rexy would have maybe gotten a little nap.

Guys, T-Rex's do swim. It's in Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park, and, it in in proper scientist books.
Michael Crichton’s novel isn’t a factual source for dinosaur knowledge, it’s possible that the rex could swim but it likely didn’t have much reason to do so
