Thank you for this review :). I just finished reading Gerald's Game, and one thing I want to say about King's novels is how well he managed to write from a woman's point of view (he did the same in Rose Madder, btw). And not only he manages write from a female perspective, but he also manages to see men from women's point of view. That's quite eye opening for me, when all the characters in my personal writings reflects myself in one way or another. I really think that King is an underrated storyteller in so many levels.
My pleasure! And thank you for taking the time to watch and comment🌻 I agree! His written female perspectives feels very real. Haven't read Rose Madder yet, but I'm hoping to get to it sometime this year 😁 Happy Reading!
I guess I am not, lol, I have at least 16 of his books here to read that I haven't so I rather spend my time doing the next thing, of course I am almost 60 so I feel I need to use my time for new things , like right now I am reading Spindle. I love Stephen Kings mind, he touches mental issues in your face and most people don't even realize he's doing it. Obviously you see the inner works of his brilliant mind
Wow. Great details. I was never going to read this, but you made me change my mind. Just listening to you, I'm assuming that the thing in the woods is a metaphore for the childhood trama she had.
+Matthew Medley Welcome to my little corner of RUclips! And thank you! I have read Salem’s Lot, but it’s been a while. Might have to reread it for a review 😊
The voices in her head and the flashbacks were great, reminds me of the film 27 hours (he was more or less having some hallucinations and it got pretty surreal), and like you said the full potential at the end was not realised. She spat in the guy’s face, she faced her demons, so? Also, who was the woman with the dress draped around herself?
My unread Stephen King list is getting fairly limited. Going on an extended camping trip in a few weeks and I’m trying to decide on one of them. Misery, Gerald’s Game or Thinner, which do you think?
Also, I think rereading Bag of Bones would be a fantastic idea. Salem’s Lot is my first of his, reread it last year and there was just so much more to it than I remembered.
Ended up choosing Misery. Haven’t started it yet, I’m a teacher so during the summer I end up being a stay at home dad. My two boys have a way of eating up most of my reading time.
This book was quite good. Jessie was totally schizophrenic, hence, her childhood situation that she needed to tackle. This book definitely will make one think twice about doing sex games if you demons needing to resolve.
I am going to pass on the movie, there is no way to do it justice since most of the book is about internal issues and feelings, so I rather just leave it as it is, a mind trip
Just finished watching the movie now (on Netflix here in the UK) and... WOW!!! As Stephen King's "number 1 fan" ;) all i can say is that finally a movie that does the book a great service. I have read this novel about a dozen times since it first came out in 92 and without giving away any spoilers, i just want to say that fans of the book will NOT be disappointed. The way they use Jessie's "voices" is very innovative & fits in perfectly with King's vision. I recommend to all. ...GREAT book review by the way Christina. :)
Is that my track "Moana" as the outro? Dope :) Honored to have my music in your video, Christina.
+Ryan Little It sure is 😊 put your info in the description! Thank you for sharing your music with other creators! Absolutely love it 😁

Same with Liseys Story....

+Barbara Senteney He's brilliant!! And it's so interesting to see how he touches on mental issues is all of the different stories!
Found you thru looking up reviews on this! So glad I did! I’m loving your channel!
That’s awesome! Thank you so much ☺️

It’s such a good story!! Glad I was able to change your mind 😁
most of King's work (not so much this novel, but most others) seems reminicent of Rod Serling's Twilight Zone stories. Brilliant
Thanks for the review. Gonna give this book a chance.
One of the best reviews of SK. Well done👋👋👋
Thank you 💛
Nice review!
+Alfie Roberts Thank you 😊
I enjoyed reading that book. Thanks for the review.
Happy to hear that you enjoyed it! It's such a good story! Thank you for taking the time to watch my review 💛
Just found your channel. Very good taste in king. Could you review Salem’s lot? It’s in my personal top 5 king books.

Christina de Vries thanks.
Did you spot the connection to Dolores Claiborne...?
I just read Dolores Claiborne a little while back and it was so interesting to see the connection between the two 😊
Cool video!
Thank you ☺️
I was riveted, but the ending was meh! It kinda did not resolve well for me. An anti-climax. I found ‘Sleeping Beauties’, the same.
I know the feeling 😏 had potential to be so much more!

Which one did you choose? I would’ve gone for Misery I think 🤔
Yes! I definitely need to reread it soon!

Kids have a tendency to do that 😜 Misery is so good! Hope you like it ☺️

I do like the sound of this book, but I am so biased. xD
+BeautyChemCam Haha! Well so am I 😝
I really enjoyed this book.
Really looking forward to the film review and how the book stacks up compared to it!
+Leif Nygaard Maybe you should join in on the review to get a less biased perspective as well as my own 😜🤔
I am going to pass on the movie, there is no way to do it justice since most of the book is about internal issues and feelings, so I rather just leave it as it is, a mind trip
+Barbara Senteney Totally get that!! I'm just too curious not to see it 😂
