Honestly I really love your guys' reactions. I grew up eating this music for breakfast, including the hard stuff too. I love it when people branch out from their usual and listen to something that could be good.
If you knew the history of this band before they released this song you'd know why they made this video. This time period marked the band finally getting themselves into a good place after years of turmoil including a death, near deaths, a mental breakdown and copious amounts of drugs along the way.
They're a very interesting band to delve into and I guarantee you won't be disappointment should you listen to more of their tunes.
Most reactions on RUclips are from this period and after (1999 - now), so it would be great to see some reactions to early RHCP material, ie. 80's to early 90's.

Scartissue is my all-time favourite song from the Peppers... It's my go-to song for when I need to calm my spirit. John's guitar work on this makes me want to hop in my car and drive for days just to heal my mind and my thoughts.

The absolute BEST Concert that I've ever been to, in my life! Fu Fighters opened up for them, WHAT A DAMN OPENING ACT (1of the Best Bands there is)... I've been to a ton of Concerts, Rap, Rock, Alternative, Country, u name it, & The Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert was 2/12- 3hrs of HEAT!!

This songs lyrics are a haunting beautiful story of the pain that people goes through with addiction and the how people perceive them after their recovery. The “scar tissue” in this song refers to the scar tissue from where a needle injection area healed. Althe bands singer Anthony Keidis is a recovered addict and many of his songs reflect his struggles as an addict. Beautiful song. If you wanna hear more like this I recommend “Under The Bridge”

Oh, f*ckin' hell yeah! Red hot chili peppers...oh, man don't get me started with them - they're simply put one of my favorite bands. They have written SOOOOO many huge hits and great songs, starting from the early -90's!
First I just want to say I love your channel...I think it's the first of it's kind that I really enjoy watching. Probably largely down to the fact that you seem to "react" to pretty much EXACTLY the kind of music that I love and in many cases grew up on - but also I love the way you really give every song a real chance, how you analyze them and and especially it's lyrics - and on top of that I find you simply endearing and entertaining to watch!

"Breaking the girl" - that's another song I would HIGHLY recommend that you listen to! It's simply put one of their masterpieces and is set with very deep lyrics as well. (Actually the whole album "Blood, sugar, sex, magic" which came out some time in the early -90's is without a doubt their absolute masterpiece, their crowning achievement that put them firmly on the music-map forever!)
"Give it away" - is another great song from the same album I mentioned above....it would be really nice to see you react to that one - not least so since it's one of their songs which kind of incorporates "rap" full out. Just thought I'ld mention that since I've at least gotten the impression that you like rap-music....or am I wrong?

In 2004, lead singer Anthony Kiedis released his autobiography, which was titled . In the book, he explained some of the lyrics: "Sarcastic Mr. Know-it-all" is Dave Navarro, whom Anthony refers to as "the King of sarcasm." "With the birds I'll share this lonely view" was inspired by birds that Anthony saw while he was singing outside of Flea's house, and he also says that the line has to do with how he felt like an outsider, looking in. Anthony was introduced to pot when he was 12, but he first got high when he was 4. He was walking down the street with his dad, and his dad blew pot smoke in his face.
