Just a few things to add. You probably want the folding heated mirrors, the power package, which includes the larger alternator and honestly the one piece wood floor is pretty amazing, even if you have to remove it to put insulation down under it. Windows can all be put in later and you'll never be able to buy off the lot if you get picky there as most are cargo configured.
Man, it looks amazing in grey with the black wheels. I would go for the Promaster Super High Roof if it had AWD. I hope Ford adds a super high roof option for the Transit. Maybe I'm just too stuck on AWD but I drive a Subaru (after driving a basic Nissan Sentra sedan) and it just feels great in all situations.
You did not talk about suspensions, shocks, tires,... Since the ProMaster does not have AWD options, is there some tweaks that can be made to have the van more trail 'resistant'?
I'd say you missed a critical interior option. I think its labeled Storage or something, but gives you the little package shelf above the visors. That space is SO useful for quick access items while driving.
You are completely right that this may make a nice addition for some folks, but for a general video like this I actually left them out for good reason. As a tallish person, these drop the visors position down about 4” and makes them unusable if the sun is coming in through the windshield. They either fully block any line of sight, or must remain in their closed position. I tend to specifically seek out vans or spec them without this option, but I am glad that they work well for you and you can take advantage of that extra storage. 👍
Bigger wheels/tires are a possibility, however there is not a lot of clearance in the wheelwells to go very far up in size without rubbing or trimming.
Thanks for the tips. I was wonder what option should I include when I order the van. What is your of opition on the options of the 2024 Van ? spray the floor ceiling and wood floor. Thanks
I assume the parking sensors you mention are the ParkSense feature?. Looking at the 2024 and 2025 Promaster catalog, it seems like you cannot get the digital rearview mirror without adding the "Safety Package" which also includes the ParkSense feature. Is this what others have experienced?
For me to buy a Ram Promaster that is around $20,000. Would I have to get it through a bank or could I pay payments on it through the dealership. I don’t have any credit or bank account rn.
Really helpful review, and for that a big thumbs up. I was basically settled on purchasing a Promaster as the platform for building out an RV van. But when you opened the front passenger door at time 3:20 and I saw that ridiculous looking toy-like partial door panel, it was an instant no for me. What a cheap-looking ridiculous toyish piece of crap. And to think the basic cargo van with super high roof and extended length with just a few factory options prices out to nearly $70k. What a rip-off. This van should be priced at a maximum of $35k out the door with basic options....and tax, title and tags included. And I'm being generous with that amount...very very generous.
Sucks that Stellantis is such an awful company. Plenty of videos showing how it's not just the economy in general, they as a company have raised prices and lowered quality on purpose and their CEO quit; the point was to pump the share price and then leave (making millions).
If the dealers don't have what you want, you can put in a special order with a dealer. You will have to give them a (nonrefundable) payment of maybe $1000 toward the final bill and it will probably take 5 - 7 months to ship from Europe, but you can get exactly what you want.
This was a very informative video. Thank you for your very good suggestions.
Sure hope all prospective diyers listen to you before buying and building. Great job.

Thank you for this information very helpful for me.
Great video. Thanks. Can you share what wheels and lift are on this van. Looks sweet
Thank you. Tthese are the factory (black) steel rims with Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires mounted (same as factory size). No lift of this van, all stock.
@@outtherevans wow. Maybe it’s the tires, but it sure looks lifted!
Very informative video I do appreciate it, Hey,
Question rather than getting like a lift kit like some do, What About getting bigger wheels?

Great video and editing. Thanks! I see snow, so you are probably not near Tennessee :(

You absolutely never go through the dealership unless they're offering zero percent interest, Always finance through a credit Union. Always God bless❤

Why?

Great advice! Thanks so much!!!
Glad it was helpful!

Does the position of the spare tire get in the way of installing undermounted gray water and/or AC?
It does not in our van conversions at Out There Vans, however I cannot speak on behalf of all van upfitters.
How do I order a promaster to my specs? I can see the build option then they refer me to dealers who don't have what I wanted

4x4 conversion or will the FWD do fine?
They don’t make a 4x4. It’s FWD.
Staters, why do you like big cars??. I dont understand
Need heated seats...
Check your auto insurance coverage FIRST. You need commercial insurance for a Promaster, and it's expensive. I have the Stubby 118"
I've never heard of that and I have a promaster
Likely depends on your state and your insurance company. we've had two Promasters in WA, and zero need for commercial insurance or registration.
Nice van but has a crappy transmission…..
