We had a president who did not make it past standard 5. You said nothing about it, for nine years. His daughter is now an MP. She spews vile utterances whenever she opens her mouth, that is also ok, right? We are tired of being told about JO's lack of qualifications. Let it rest now. A lot of noise and degrading comments were made about President Zuma's supposed lack of education throughout his term. This was a normalised narrative, so we shall continue on the same vein. Why should others get preferential treatment on things they started? He is lucky he is not being referred to as a clueless white boy as President Zuma was referred to as a clueless Zulu boy.
It is surprising how people are now so keen to indicate that education is not always an indicator of success. Just look at yourselves and the double standards! Disappointing.

@nosipho6828 I couldn't have said it any better. Jamie seems to use every opportunity to bash the DA and John S. Should rather name his videos the DA bashing show. To him the DA could not do anything right despite their excellent track record.
John WILL outperform any ANC minister with very little effort given how dismally they've performed over 30 years.
Viewers will soon see through this BS that he keeps putting out. Such a shame. At least JS can count and do basic maths and not make an absolute IDIOT of himself like the people he compares him to.

yeah we have complained about ANC's poor service have we not ? Kanti where have you been ANC has been regarded as a corrupt organization that has failed time and time again to do even the most basic things in service delivery. Anyway that doesn't take away from the DA's reputation for being anti poor ,if you look at their policy on
reducing minimum wage (while the cost of living is rising and while the people who are on minimum wage usually are the sole provider in their families)
The privatization of public companies this bad for the poor as private companies only care about profits and that doesn't always align with the poor, and the money that make doesn't go to the government but to the hands of a few.
Most of all even they have been governing the western cape for over 15 years yet the have failed to improve place for the poor (Cape flats ,khayelitsha etc) ,has only improved places like cape town.now there could be reasons that have not been communicated properly to majority of people as to why these places have not seen improvement but in the eyes of the majority people the DA will be seen as racist(the majority of poor people and those who live in neglected area in the western cape are POC there they will see it as the DA not wanting their type of people) and anti poor.

As the newly appointed Minister of Defence, I am deeply aware of the challenges facing our military and the immense task of rebuilding it. However, I am also filled with determination and optimism, drawing strength from our nation's history of resilience and transformation.
      Guiding Principles
My five-year plan is rooted in the following principles:
Ubuntu: We will rebuild our military based on the African philosophy of Ubuntu, recognizing the interconnectedness of all people and the importance of collaboration, respect, and dignity.
Transformation: We will transform our military into a diverse, inclusive, and representative institution that reflects the demographics of our nation.
Professionalism: We will foster a culture of professionalism, discipline, and excellence throughout the ranks.
Modernization: We will modernize our military through targeted investments in equipment, technology, and training.
Partnerships: We will strengthen partnerships with regional and international allies to enhance our capabilities and contribute to global peace and security.
      Five-Year Plan
      Year 1: Assessment and Stabilization
Comprehensive Audit: Conduct a thorough audit of our military's current state, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Morale Boosting: Implement immediate measures to boost morale, such as improving living conditions, addressing grievances, and recognizing outstanding service.
Budget Review: Review the defense budget and identify areas for reallocation to address critical needs.
Recruitment Drive: Launch a nationwide recruitment drive targeting talented and diverse individuals.
      Year 2: Rebuilding and Restructuring
Training Overhaul: Redesign training programs to focus on modern warfare tactics, leadership development, and technical skills.
Equipment Upgrades: Prioritize the acquisition of essential equipment and technology, focusing on areas with the greatest deficiencies.
Restructuring: Restructure the military to optimize efficiency, streamline command and control, and eliminate redundancies.
Civilian Oversight: Strengthen civilian oversight mechanisms to ensure accountability and transparency.
      Year 3: Modernization and Innovation
Technology Adoption: Invest in cutting-edge technologies, such as cyber warfare capabilities, unmanned aerial vehicles, and advanced communication systems.
Research and Development: Foster a culture of innovation by investing in research and development of indigenous military technologies.
Defense Industry Revival: Develop a plan to revitalize the domestic defense industry, creating jobs and boosting the economy.
Cybersecurity: Enhance cybersecurity measures to protect critical military infrastructure and data.
Year 4: Partnerships and Capacity Building
Regional Cooperation: Strengthen military cooperation with neighboring countries through joint exercises, training programs, and intelligence sharing.
International Engagement: Participate in international peacekeeping missions and humanitarian operations to build capacity and demonstrate our commitment to global security.
Strategic Alliances: Forge strategic alliances with key international partners to access advanced military technologies and training.
Diplomacy: Utilize diplomacy to resolve conflicts and promote peace in the region.
      Year 5: Consolidation and Sustainability
Evaluation: Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the five-year plan, assessing progress and identifying areas for further improvement.
Sustainability: Develop a long-term strategy to ensure the sustainability of our military's capabilities and readiness.
Public Engagement: Engage with the public to build trust and support for the military.
Legacy: Leave a legacy of a transformed, modern, and capable military that is a source of national pride.
      Additional Considerations
Gender Equality: Prioritize gender equality in all aspects of military life, from recruitment and training to promotion and leadership.
Veterans Affairs: Improve services and support for veterans, ensuring their well-being and reintegration into civilian life.
Public-Private Partnerships: Explore public-private partnerships to leverage private sector expertise and resources in defense-related projects.
This five-year plan is a roadmap for a journey of transformation and renewal. It will not be easy, but I am confident that with dedication, perseverance, and the support of the South African people, we can rebuild our military into a force for good, a protector of our democracy, and a symbol of our national unity.

You talk about the agriculture sector in quantity of the annual rapport ... I would hope that the administration would let the modification lead quality and quantity of produce than mere quantity of farmers... I think the ground work is much more nuanced than a simple quantative statement of tge amount of black farmers... Perhaps the empowerment of black farmers in their production is a priority than simply stacking black farmers without empowerment? I think a big challenge to SA is the creation of stagnant jobs over productive jobs that help the economy grow, not just in agriculture.

Education doesn't say much...Is what one can archive in Life through common sense... Einstein was dislexsec but archive and proved to be a Brilliant Mind. It's the same mindset of One must have a Matric, to get a Job, but what does a Matric help one with a 30% Past Rate, if you can't Read/ Write and Comprehend and someone with a Grade 10 that can Read/Write and comprehend, but left School due to Circumstances...?

DA has good marketing but very little results.
They'll probably do the bare minimum let the private sector take over and the claim success. But when you really look at it nothing has changed.

You obviously do not live in the Western Cape AND you do VERY little traveling around SA so you are unable to compare the provinces.

@cathypotgieter6345 You obviously do not live in the township in the Cape, and you do VERY little traveling around the township in SA, so you are unable to compare the townships in each province.

The only way to go forward is to train all our small black farmer's with knowledge, skills and expertise in farming inorder for them to become successful commercial farmers. It must start at grass level Offer agriculture at all the vocational schools as part of it's curriculum and also build more agricultural colleges in all provinces. Inorder to prove critics wrong, the Minister has to have his fingers on the pulse. Work- Shops can also be held whereby the students are motivated by commercial farmers by sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise. One has to be one step ahead of the prevailing circumstances in uncharted waters. "Where there is a Will , there is always a Way".

Results are the most important thing, but the other points raised (e.g. education, etc) indicate the likelihood of him achieving these results. It will be more difficult than he thinks for new farmers to achieve a competitive edge in the international market (without which it's not sustainable), and small farmers will need to be subsidized for a while. It's probably a good idea to first do some serious market research to ensure that he's not just setting the new farmers (and himself) up for failure.

Our currency exchange against the global major currencies has gained strength, colleges are more powerful and important than universities in most global countries
