The BIGGEST problem with this car, if you drive a lot in rural highways at night, is bugs and other small things getting sucked into the grill and clogging up the front radiator fins. They definitely need more fine mesh right behind the front grill.
They really should’ve kept the 1-9 buttons. Going from the kind of BMW I’m in now and if I was to go to that… idk if I would like it. I have 1-5 buttons that I use every day. And 6-9 are buttons I often forget where the menu was 😂

i think the MMI and the screen itself is cool but i dont like the way they attached the screen to the dashboard. it looks like it was stuck on as an afterthought with zero styling. at the end of the day it is a badass car tho, despite the controversy around it.. lol
I agree, those rear discs and Calipers look way too small! The M performance rear brakes on my 330i look bigger and more aggressive. Also I don’t like the way they have removed the buttons and integrated it into the idrive it would be a pain to adjust things while driving and trying to keep your eyes on the road. What were BMW thinking!
I have a question, if you weren’t going to wrap your car what color combo would you get? I know you said sky scrapper on Fiona red but what other ones were you considering?
I definitely agree with you on 4 items on your list. I love my F80’s rear brakes, CF strut brace and multitude of interior buttons. As for the honeycomb intake grill, I thought it looked odd in comparison to the CF style intake splitter
You're right. The iDrive 8 looks atrocious. It may fit an EV, but not a sportscar. It's a move by the BMW bean counters to save some money. I have an M340i pre LCI and its soooo much nicer (and physical's buttons etc.). It's such a lame trend. I am thinking of an M3 in 2024, and this is literally the one thing that turns me off about it.
I have the 2022 M3 before they destroyed the car with their wanna-be Tesla Dashboard. I would have not bought the car if it came with those 2 ipad screens. Also I did not waste my $ of the AWD. I wanted to buy a sports car not a jeep. I love my M3 Competition! it is bad Ass!!!
Only thing that looks disturbing on this car is that tablet style dashboard. Its totally disturbingly ugly,it totally destroyed enterior cuz it totally deosnt fit in that sporty enterior. And that lonely volume button...its upsetingly eye pocking. Like what the f they were thinking. BMW should take a notes from Alfa and Audi how to make old style but modern digital dash.

I’m an Audi fan so the big grill sold me. I’ve been waiting for bmw to drop something with a bigger grill.
In hindsight, would you spec it out with the Carbon ceramic brakes?
I wouldn’t. They’re great but for the money, just not worth it to me personally

The fully spec'd Australian G80 version has bigger brake rotors front and back if the configurator is accurate
upgrade to carbon ceramics and you get the big break on the back
