Nice playing good sir! I'm looking at a set of these. Its my first strat so I'm playing around with what works. I want more grunt than regular single coils, but want something that sounds nice clean as well. Do these clean up nicely? And did you just use 250k pots, and nothing else like a tone cap? I was looking at the true grit set as well, but they sound a little bit thin for me (personally). Cheers, Chris
Yes, they clean up nicely. On this Strat I've put the solderless Mojotone blender but I have Obsidian Wire solderless too on another Strat and I think it's a little bit better. I think that 250k pots work good but I've lowered them 5 mm from 3 & 4 strings. They have a lot of bass and sound much fuller than regular single coils. The Old Guard are much brighter. Although Brute Force are hot, they are not louder.
@@andristark , ok cool. Nice one for that mate. It sounds like that's what I'm after then. I was actually thinking that with regards to lowering the pick up height if needed. I'll keep my eye for any more vids you put up with them. Cheers again bud
@@cbak6208, next video will be with Seymour Duncan SSL-1. But, if you want to hear right now a little bit more how the Brute Force sound, you can scroll down my channel and listen "LITTLE DROPS OF HEAVEN" . . . I've recorded that song with these pickups.
faaantastic!
