The way Liu Kang describes basically recreating the universe is so beautiful and really sells just how insanely powerful he has become. He has some limits, sure, but the power he wields and uses responsibly is WILD. Liu Kang really is the Chosen One.

I like how Liu Kang gave everyone a chance for peace, but also knows its up to the individual person to find and accept it, hence why Shao and Shang still exist. Liu Kang gives everyone a fair chance, but since he can't alter a persons soul or personality some people will just refuse it

Ever since I saw Mileena in this universe, I kept thinking “damn, Liu Kang actually gave her the chance to be one of the good guys this time even after everything she did”, and then I thought “as a clone, she didn’t really asked to be created and/or be treated as a monster”, which is probably why Liu Kang made her part of the royal family this time arround. Kinda goes to show the kind of guy Liu Kang is

I was kinda hoping Liu Kang would just be an observer in future games and could pop up as an unlockable character and/or optional superboss but I’m still on board for seeing how his role in the story plays out

@@DonYoGi8331 With the dynamics changing, I can see the amount of pressure, pain, solitude and stress he will go under, basically by himself, as there is no other by his side who can deal with otherworldly threats like him. And also, he's lost all the connections he once previously had. These are 'new' mortals, as also are his champions and they can go only to a certain level, as I assume Kung Lao and Raiden are just starting (even though Liu Kang could stand up against gods in his mortal days...). I don't know how much they will grow as the story unfolds so, I feel really tough times await for LK.

The way things unfold will probably be inevitable... Liu Kang could have taken eons to meditate on the matters of life and death, law and chaos, good and evil and his biases as a mortal would have still been there.
It kinda makes me think if that is why Raiden had such compassion for mortals, maybe he was one himself.

Nope. Raiden is born as a God, alongside his brother Fujin. While not officially state, Raiden and Fujin parents is mostly the old Elder Gods (in the real mythos, it will be Izanagi and Izanami). Hence why Raiden is a bit weaker when he became mortal (as seen in the previous MK media before, and now in this MK1) because Raiden never experience mortal body. And this is the great contrast to Liu Kang, born as mortal, but train hard enough to the point he can take down God (Liu Kang is the very first mortal to ever beat Shinnok with his own strength). So when he ascend to God form, his power boost greatly. And don't forget the current Liu Kang here is also part of his revenant counterpart, making him a new breed of God who also has mortal and revenant blood. Different type of demigod compare to Taven and Daegon.

Mileena is the now the daughter of sindel because of that and would add some more tragedy to kitana now she has her mother but she can’t even say that. Shang Tsung's ending does not leave much for any story telling to happen. He became all powerful and conquers the realms while people does his bidding and all the good guys are dead. Liu's timeline reset allows for so much more possibilities.
I mean...at this point Liu Kang is not the god of fire... He's literally God.
He’s really not, he just has raidens powers, the ones who gave raiden his powers were killed so he obviously isn’t all powerful, not to mention the hourglass that allowed him to fuck with time is just a object, it’s not a power he himself posses

Liu Kang’s voice and tone while crafting his new era, brings warmth, dedication and passion I love it.
I find it funny how liu kang can manipulate and change the fates and destines of those around him, but cannot erase certain people from existence. i guess there are some things that you cannot control like destiny and fate. even if you are a god/divine entity with godlike space and time powers with an hourglass that has magic sand in it.
Well kronika couldnt get rid of raiden
He may not be able to erase certain people, but he can certainly make their lives miserable. Such examples including having Shao be born as a weak child at birth (he clearly got stronger by the time MK1 gets rolling, but he probably faced a bigger uphill battle in comparison to his original origin) and making it where Shang Tsung is seen as the con artist he is and gets beaten for it.
Don't really want to compare real world religion to mortal Kombat but still our real world God wouldn't want the world plagued with sin. As the mortal Kombat 1 subtext claims 'its in our blood' as no matter what there will be evil intentions in life
@@cursedshadow She can. She literally erased Dark Raiden in MK11 remember. Is just that in Kronika's plan, she wanted to erased Raiden in all timelines, meaning no trace of him left even in the vast of multiverse. That why it takes time. If it just erased in one timeline, that was no big deal. Liu Kang can also do that, is just that he chose not too. Liu Kang wanted everyone to have a chance to find their own peace. And this why all bad stuff that will be happening in M1 is because of Kronika's doing. She try to shape the world back to how it used to be. This is what Geras mean of Liu Kang's plan has already been comprimise.

I think this is how fighting games are going to be. Story mode that is amazing and the fighting is after you beat the game.

As we see in both Cetrion and Geras' endings from MK11, many things are inevitable. Liu Kang could not destroy Outworld, so he actively guided it in hopes to forge a peaceful version.
Unfortunately for Lui Kang, The One Being is always going to influence people to conquer and merge realms together.

I’m not good in MK by any means, but iv had to buy every game since mk9 for this amazing story netherealm has created. I’m excited to see where the story goes in this one.

I love lui kang he’s my favorite mortal kombat character only he could create a universe without bias and by trying not to control people
I was wondering how Netherrealm would handle Liu Kang being omnipotent, and I was not disappointed. The idea that he laid the groundwork for his timeline and its people, but stepped back to ensure they would have free will while removing any true world ending threats shows a great deal of wisdom, but also restraint. Shao, Bi Han, Mileena, and Shang Tsung were all horribly evil people in the original timeline, but he did not simply wipe them from existence. He gave them all a chance to be something better, and while some succeeded, others failed. Sure, he set some of them back, but it's clear that was not to punish them, but to protect others. His restraint was arguably his greatest strength, and starting the story and leaving it up to the mortal's to "finish it" is one of the greatest godly quotes ever.

Liu Kang is most likely more than 4 billion years old at this point. He has watched celestial bodies form, Stars go supernova, and the poor dinosaurs get murked again by that asteroid.
And 10 games later, Raiden gets his title back and we stuck in an infinite loop.

@@TrollDecker nah it probably has something to do with his amulet, he’s holding it in his hand in the last trailer while he summons the lightning, Liu definitely gives him the lightning powers back or he put them into the amulet and Raiden can channel them through there, the amulet definitely has something to do with it tho as it’s part of his costume for this game. If go look at his bio on the website the picture they use has him with the amulet attached to his hip. In one of the intro dialogue between Kenshi and lao Kenshi says you came so close to being earthrealm’s champion, Lao responds by saying it would’ve been awesome that amulet paired with my hat so it seem pretty clear the amulet is probably the source of the lightning powers, I assume Raiden will get them back fully at some point tho without needing the amulet

The basic difference between Raiden and Liu Kang
Raiden sought the peace only for the Earthrealm, even at the cost of fighting against any other realm if necessary.
Liu Kang doesn't give a shit, he pursues the bigger picture, not the peace of a realm in particular or the peace for every realm, but the balance of good and evil as a whole, because he understood that being totally good is the same thing as being totally evil.
Dang, so literal billions of years passed as Fire God Liu Kang waits for the universe to finish creating itself after he started it before he sprinkled life... doesn’t he get lonely being the only being existing outside of space and time in the endless void of space?
Edit: Jesus Christ, it's just a curious question, not judging the story or anything. I'm just interested in the psychological mindset if one were to be Liu Kang.

Liu Kang sat around for eons waiting for his friends to be born just so he could come hang out again.
We are used to follow stories about a protagonist evolving and reaching his/her antagonist power level. In this new era, the protagonist is a powerhouse. We are going to follow some villains journey and even their evolution. Maybe at some point, they can rival Liu Kang, after all, free will was giving. Hoping to see Shao become Kahn and Shang Tsung the greatest sorcerer.

@@XenozillexEvery previous era there was no real free will because Kronika would just reset the timeline whenever things went against her plan. This happened countless times. Liu Kang did his best to try and craft this new era to be the most peaceful and now it’s up to the people of the realms to make their own choices. Liu Kang is benevolent and merciful and believed that even the villains of past timelines would deserve a chance.
