  • This video gives some tips on soldering large wire 10g and large connectors 6.5mm for high current flow applications.
We only do one wire at a time for safety, these are very dangerous if you arc the positive and negative together. SAFETY FIRST.
This is very easy with practice, Hope you enjoy the video, I know most people hate to solder large wires but with the right equipment its very easy.

With my Xytronic LF3200 120W soldering station I can use 700 degrees on these big connectors with no problems. It uses high frequency induction to heat the metal in the soldering tip directly rather than a heating element. I also use flux paste on large gauge wire like this.

Just a thought: Does that high frequency have the ability to damage and ESC or battery? Don’t sound like something I’d trust near a $500 ESC.

Finally a good and clean solder joint. Many people use solder more like a glue.

I thought it was only appropriate to let it naturally cool and letting it cool like that with some liquid would compromise a solder connection
