It can take a long time to heal from living on the streets. Your psyche takes a massive hit, your pride, your joy, your sorrows, everything that makes up our emotions takes a massive hit. Housing first is the solution to homelessness. Everyone deserves a roof over their heads. This is awesome and just a beginning step in Geneva, well done!
@@jameswilson8820 you should try living in Canada, we pay huge taxes, almost half our income goes straight to taxes, and if you are earning above the poverty line, that number just goes up. So after taxes are paid, the utilities here are usually the price of a new car every three years. Canadians are really struggling hard under this debt our joke has put on us. And our joke of a pm is still happily printing money, making everything worse. A four litre of milk before trudeau, was under five dollars, now it is eight dollars 72 cents. our bread was under two dollars, for a regular loaf of whole wheat, now it is four dollars, same loaf. I can't leave the grocery store without dropping a hundred dollars, and have three bags of grocery full. After utilities, and food, the rnets and the mortgages are paid up, there is literally nothing left over for a rainy day fund anymore. its grueling.
ok, great concept, although here I o again nitpicking the design... the windows should tilt OUT not in to let the rain in, o.k.?? Or at least have an awning or piece of wood over the top to deflect the rain/water away from the window ,ergo the inside....
There are a few communities like this in the US. They are highly successful, as the smaller size is an easier transition from homelessness, not as overwhelming as a large apartment.
The original "Noé" container village had to be moved in January 2022 because of a construction project, but the concept is still up and running elsewhere in Geneva. Here's the official website of the association that runs these little studios carrefour-rue.ch/contact/
the world need 'to-have-a-soul' for those people not all of them are a mental-case or druggies some of them (specifically due to the pendamics) due to so many reasons in life-brought them to this
Neat idea. I hope people use it to get back on their feet and not use it as a lifestyle.. Over here when people get on welfare they stay on it for life.

Those guys a real Heroes...
Beautiful tiny house
Beautiful story! God bless!
Wow. I wish you would do something like this in Pennsylvania for the homeless
That is the solution, housing first
Remember...affordable housing!
So true 👍
Housing here in the UK is all about making money and not providing affordable housing

Beautiful setting xxxxx
This is better then having big loans.
You are showing other cities how it should be done.
Many cities in the US are doing this now 💕
Or, have regular windows going up & down, or side to side.
500,000 francs for 11 is 45,500 per tiny home. That's $46,000 USD per! Somebody's lining their own pockets.
Exactly!
Nice the rest of the needs to follow suite. Rents are higher than most people make in a month

Nice
Homes!!!❤️🎉🎉🎉
45,454 euros each...am I missing something? This seems very inefficient in a time when there are a lot of homeless people that need help.

I am afraid this is Switzerland where everything is expensive 😢

👍👍👍
What a pity , you can get two bed room house for $ 45 000 , this is like a rich toilet , watch Texas tiny houses , please try with one bedroom house ,
I need this for a while where shall I go, currently in Zurich, am learning German, hard to find work, what shall I do
Pfarrer Sieber is the main organisation helping homeless people in Zurich www.swsieber.ch/
i wonder if this place is still standing?
