  • SDA Secondary School, Bekwai, was officially opened in 1953. It existed alongside the Teacher Training College whose Principal also run it. The Printing Department and Evangelist Training Section were all actively functioning at the time. In 1956, the Secondary School got its first Headmaster, a British by name N.C. Maberly. Twenty students, nineteen boys and one girl, were the first students to enroll. Four teachers - Barima Brefo Sekyere, Adu Kyei, G.A. Eshun, I.K. Garbrah - taught a curriculum covering, English, History, Geography, Bible Knowledge, Domestic Science, Technical Drawing, Art and Craft and Agricultural Science.
    In 1954, a concrete two-storey building housing five classrooms, an Assembly Hall and Administration was put up. An expansion programme was devised which would see the addition of one classroom each year. This programme facilitated increase in student intake on a yearly basis.
    Mother SDASS is 70 years and the celebration will take place at the school park on Sunday 29th October, 2023.
