The reason that the word "woe" is in every title is because of the poem Wednesday got her name from, it's about the attributes of children born on the different days of the week. The line she was named for goes, "Wednesday’s child is full of woe".
The full poem for anyone who sees this comment: "Monday's child is fair of face,Tuesday's child is full of grace.Wednesday's child is full of woe,Thursday's child has far to go.Friday's child is loving and giving,Saturday's child works hard for a living. And the child born on the Sabbath dayIs bonny and blithe, good and gay."
@@RoxxyFly And yet Wednesday, despite being named for a child who is full of woe, is actually born on a friday (the 13th.) So she is loving and giving, as well. Everyone has the right to complain. Xavier isn’t a bitch for complaining. Also he isn’t exactly complaining much and when he is , it’s usually valid! 1:24:20 I love that you said that because that is exactly how I feel. Like who gives a shit that they are playing a bad person. It’s realistic because anyone and can be anything good or bad. And I particularly hated the hate on this show because in all reality they had the best development as a character (besides Wednesday) and the real villains were all white - Tyler as the Hyde, Christina Ricci as the mastermind behind everything, and crackstone THE white pilgrim. I just think it’s so ridiculous sometimes like just let them act. Anyways, I love the content. Also, side note if you can, I’d love for you to rewatch avatar way of the water. I just watched your reaction and the movie today and it was amazing and would love to hear your thoughts even though you’ve seen it.
And it also goes to say that they weren't really bad people at all, were they both a bit warped by social standing and in Bianca's case her resentment for her mothers vindictive ways? Most certainly but that really doesn't say _that_ much about characters who are young teenagers -- especially considering the amount of growth and connection both Lucas and Bianca had throughout the show.
I mean there are something like 20 bullies depicted in the show, one is black and is the only one to have any development and importance. How that turned into depicting black people as bullies is bizarre.
In the myth...? No, that's not how she was defeated. Perseus used the reflective nature of a shield to be able to "look" at Medusa though not directly so it'd counteract the whole stoning thing, Medusa was trumped by beheading.
Yes, people got mad because Gomez was ugly in the show but the show is way more accurate than the films since Gomez and Morticia were always meant to be the odd couple and this is the most accurate version of the Gomez character Also fun fact: it took Jenna 8 months to learn how to play cello
To clarify, people weren't complaining about Bianca being a villain because she was a black villain. They were upset because Tim Burton doesn't like casting POC and when he does they're normally antagonists so it was part of a pattern of behavior. (He says that POC don't fit his aesthetic, which could have changed but he's stuck by that for years so idk. He also has a history of erasing the ethnic background of his work, for example his movie The Corpse Bride.) Wednesday is the first Tim Burton work where the main character isn't white.
I loved watching your reaction to this show! I was so happy that it ended up having both style and substance. Also, I personally didn't think Xavier was that bad, but he definitely needed to chill. I'd say get a hobby, but he had one and it didn't help too much in the end. 1:24:20 - 1:25:09 Oh my God, thank you! I get so sick and tired of people looking for stuff to complain about. So what if the villain is played by a black person? Y'all never heard of Killmonger from Black Panther or even Alonzo Harris from Training Day? It's not a big deal until someone tries to make it one.
Me too. I started yesterday and finished today. Sad coincidence, tho...came across a new release, yesterday that Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday passed away! RIP, Lisa
Jenna is outstandingly beautiful, true. At times, it's a bit distracting. I have heard others say her dance scene is out of character but I disagree- the fact she is so passionate and animated yet expressionless is absolutely true to her., even when playing the cello. And dancing has proven important to the Addams clan. She mostly only smiles when blood is involved, or is that just me? Also curious if anyone else has noticed that the ghost girl's last name is Addams but she's related on Wednesday's mom's side. So are mom and dad related (possible with an Addams) or did Gomez take his wife's family name? I rather like that idea, actually.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 Yep, Morticia said Goody comes from Wednesday's Dad's line, one of the first 'colonists,' as they were known. Think she said they came from South America. And in that clip when Goody leaves her Mom in the burning building, we see that she most likely travelled there to Jericho with her Mom (so Addams would have been her Dad's name, as Morticia said Goody was the first 'Addams,') probably as a young child. Interesting back-story.
Bianca isn't a villain. At most she was a bit hard on the boy in fencing but Wednesday and Bianca both initiated the conflict after that. Bianca had a screwed up family and childhood and she chose to leave them to find a better path. She struggles with her power and she seemed to always be honest in her words and actions and she was quick to apologize to Wednesday when they got her expelled. They gave Bianca depth. She's imperfect and complicated which makes her interesting. Whoever gave you grief about her being a villain needs to watch the show again.
I had watched a few scenes from the Addams Family show back in 1964, Lisa Loring did an amazing job especially since she started at 6 years old. But if you understand the main point of the Addams Family. They are completely different from society, think, act and even express differently. So to this day I will say Christina Ricci really had the stare, the tone and just… everything spot on. Still I am so proud of Jenna for even practicing the plain stare. It’s completely different from a “bitch” stare. Absolutely no emotion is shown, and that’s quite difficult.
Sad story, but I saw a new report yesterday (which was also the day I started binge-watching Wednesday) that Lisa Loring has just passed away! RIP, Lisa!
I remember watching this for the first time. I always thought the redhead was the mastermind, and the therapist was the hyde. Especially, because the therapist looks just like it. So I gotta be honest, they really got me with the Tyler twist, because he held up the innocent act for so long. (that Wednesday torture scene had me so convinced of his innocence) Edit: Also, i liked Xavier the first time around, but seeing this reaction made me realize how annoying he is 😬😂!
She honestly reminds me of Prudence from Sabrina. They literally go back and forth for like 2 episodes and then they fine for the rest of the show.🤦🏾♀️ I don’t get what everybody is talking about calling her a “bully”.🙄
SPOILERS I really don't like Tyler's dad. He knows that her wife is a Hyde and there is a chance that Tyler may be one too. But he did nothing, letting the potential beast running wild. He could at least let Tyler go to Nevermore so he could learn to embrace and control himself. Instead the father blamed Wednesday and captivated Xavier! Dont tell me you did not ever suspect your son to be the culprit??? You even track your son through phone!!! Edit: Tyler's mom did go to Nevermore although she was a Hyde. Because Ms Weembs did not ask what type she was so Tyler's mom can stay there i guess. Mr Cop, can you at least do the same thing?
@@NotSorry97 Hydes were forbidden from Nevermore 30 years before Wednesday attended. Tyler's mom would have been the last or one of the last Hydes at Nevermore. It was never mentioned as to what happened that was the final straw to get Hydes banned.

1:24:26 I agree with Mellow here. It seems that nowadays, people will complain if the black character is portrayed as anything other than the “kind, misunderstood golden angels”, which is dumb, because if they are supposed to promote diversity and representation, using this cookie-cutter type characterization is really doing the opposite. That isn’t equality. And Bianca and Lucas weren’t even villains. They were kinda jerks at the beginning but changed as the show progressed (those who complained clearly didn’t watch the rest of the show). But the racial controversy is dumb. Black people can be jerks too, because they are people. We all can be jerks sometimes.
you should definitely binge watch the yellowjackets show that cristina riccis in with jasmine savoy brown. it’s gruesome kind of but cristina does such a good damn job playing her character!!
It’s funny about the Gomez thing because in the original comics he was short and portly. But everyone thinks of the movie and the tv show where they cast a more camera friendly person.
The fact i find this so funny because I've seen the whole series before watching this and hearing all of his assumptions about whos what is just hilarious. Your so funny when S2 comes out please do this again
If you notice Wednesday does not swing her arms when she walks ,everyone thinks of the dad after the tv show slim but from what I’ve been told this version of the dad is more like the original version of the comic

I think Enid is my favorite character. Always loved werewolves, love how peppy she is, the perfect foil to Wednesday. Plus, her thing with Axel is cute. Hope that girl goes places, she appears to be a newcomer
The actor playing Gomez looks more like the original cartoon.
You know damn well Wednesday was in the wrong for framing Xavier and he had every right to be upset. "She wants to rescue you," yeah from the situation she made!
She didn't frame him. She falsely accused him. Tyler framed him
@@caseyh8386 Wait really? I thought it was mentioned somewhere that she was the one who put the evidence in the shed?
@@kat309 Honestly it's confusing, at one point she insinuates that she framed him but in another scene she says that Tyler did.
And she wasn’t even there to rescue him. But to get information out of him. His words were mild compared to what she deserved.
rewatch the show💀
I seriously enjoy your reaction videos so much. You so often say exactly what I’m thinking. I also almost threw my husband away watching Jenna…she’s insanely beautiful. Those lips??!! Are you kidding me. I can’t! She’s perfection
Agreed 200%
Agreed 1000%. Also, that big round sharp eyes are just so magnetic to see. Everything about Wednesday is just perfect!
This is coming from a girl who has a boyfriend...
@@ZolaRenard_01 And when her face lit up and her lips morphed into a smile! Be still, my beating heart! Stunner for sure!
Everyone has the right to complain. Xavier isn’t a bitch for complaining. Also he isn’t exactly complaining much and when he is , it’s usually valid! People need to allow for people to complain and express their pain or what bothers them. Sure if someone is sitting in front of you complaining for an hour it gets annoying. But complaining is ok and usually not a bitch thing to do
Brooo I was not expecting you binge watch the whole show 😅 i love this show , love Stella Rosa 🍷
Any chance you're planning on watching more chick flick movies while partaking of the vine? Bride Wars would be a good one to see your reaction too, but no matter what it's always great to see your reactions. Happy Holidays Mel to you and your Mom. Best wishes to you and your Family for a bright and Happy New Year. 🙏🌟🥳🕊️
The very first episode explains why every episode is titled with 'woe'. Morticia explains "Woe is Wednesday's Child"
Yup 😂 from what I remember, Medusa was defeated because they tricked her into looking in a mirror and “stoning” herself.
In the myth...? No, that's not how she was defeated. Perseus used the reflective nature of a shield to be able to "look" at Medusa though not directly so it'd counteract the whole stoning thing, Medusa was trumped by beheading.
@@oduinn7948 That may be so but there are other movies and shows that involve tricking her into seeing her own reflection and stoning herself.
Yes, people got mad because Gomez was ugly in the show but the show is way more accurate than the films since Gomez and Morticia were always meant to be the odd couple and this is the most accurate version of the Gomez character
Also fun fact: it took Jenna 8 months to learn how to play cello
Wouldnt say ugly but they espected a well like he looked in the other movies but they forgot how he looked in the Comics and animated movies
It was fitting
Uncle Fester is like Batman 😂🤣
To clarify, people weren't complaining about Bianca being a villain because she was a black villain. They were upset because Tim Burton doesn't like casting POC and when he does they're normally antagonists so it was part of a pattern of behavior.
(He says that POC don't fit his aesthetic, which could have changed but he's stuck by that for years so idk. He also has a history of erasing the ethnic background of his work, for example his movie The Corpse Bride.)
Wednesday is the first Tim Burton work where the main character isn't white.
I think Xavier was warranted to be mad at Wednesday since he was falsely accused of the crime
Good news. He is no longer in the show because he likes to Sexual harass his female coworkers including Jenna
Bianca isn't a villain. She's a rival. They're just in competition with each other. That's not villainous.
Yeah, that brother's starving for Jenna Ortega. And so am I and everyone else
I loved watching your reaction to this show! I was so happy that it ended up having both style and substance. Also, I personally didn't think Xavier was that bad, but he definitely needed to chill. I'd say get a hobby, but he had one and it didn't help too much in the end.
1:24:20 - 1:25:09
Oh my God, thank you! I get so sick and tired of people looking for stuff to complain about. So what if the villain is played by a black person? Y'all never heard of Killmonger from Black Panther or even Alonzo Harris from Training Day? It's not a big deal until someone tries to make it one.
I was simping over her too… it’s not just you 😊
I literally just binged this in the past two days, fantastic timing
Me too. I started yesterday and finished today. Sad coincidence, tho...came across a new release, yesterday that Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday passed away! RIP, Lisa
Everyone talking about the black girl being a villain and all that crap and then at the end she becomes one of the main hero’s
the best Kubrick's stare was the Jack Nicholson's from the shinning
Bro just ripping on everyone that isn’t Wednesday the whole time is HILARIOUS
Bruh, your commentary in this got me dead on New Years. xD Happy New Year, btw
"This is the best episode so far" *you after every episode*
Finally. Someone says it lol
@@legendson5567 LOL. I don't blame him though 🤣
@@mondler107 I hear you on that one😂
There has to be a second season because of the twist at the end but overall Mellow you are an awesome dude and hilarious lol
The more this went on and the more drunk you got was absolutely hilarious 💯 I'm drinking right along with you haha!
(that Wednesday torture scene had me so convinced of his innocence)
Edit: Also, i liked Xavier the first time around, but seeing this reaction made me realize how annoying he is 😬😂!
Yes! he bugged the snot out of me, the whole way through!
Dude the thirst during this reaction😂😂😂😂😂😂
Its to damn bad we have to wait 8 years before we see Jeana Ortega as a Star Fleet Officer.
Ummmmm how was Bianca a villain at allll!? She was one of the best characters in the show and she helps wednesday in the series several times
She honestly reminds me of Prudence from Sabrina. They literally go back and forth for like 2 episodes and then they fine for the rest of the show.🤦🏾♀️ I don’t get what everybody is talking about calling her a “bully”.🙄
@@MsMojo014 Prudence was such a great character, I miss chilling adventures of Sabrina
My boy talkin about H. H. Holmes!? I see you bro.
SPOILERS
I really don't like Tyler's dad.
But Hydes became forbidden to go to Nevermore due to how dangerous they are. Principal Weems even said so in one of the episodes.
@@NotSorry97 oh i didnt notice that, thank you. But still, he should have cared more about his son if he already knew Tyler might be a dangerous Hyde.
@@NotSorry97 Hydes were forbidden from Nevermore 30 years before Wednesday attended. Tyler's mom would have been the last or one of the last Hydes at Nevermore. It was never mentioned as to what happened that was the final straw to get Hydes banned.

The answer to your Woe conundrum was in the first episode. Her name came from a a poem her mom liked. Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe.
OMG, you the man. I have a glass of Red wine every day. Watching ya reviews is better than going to see the movie . Keep up the good work👍🏿

The heartbreak during the Kiss😂😂😂I’m so sorry I’m commenting so much but I’m doing it as I watch in real time.
“I wonder why he chose the principal out of all people to shape shift in the end.” 😭
fun fact.... the man who played the original gomez addams is the father of sean astin (who played bob in stranger things )
What?! That nerdy guy can control bees?!? I'd he his best friend lmao, let me pet your fuzzy friends with no fear of getting stung lol

I agree with Mellow here.
Tbh it makes alot of sense that a pilgrim was the ultimate Villain, given the history of the pilgrims lmao
The score that plays during Wednesday's date and when she kisses Tyler is the same score that plays when Wednesday hugs Enid
I never noticed that… hmm… also nice pfp
It's a good job that English people aren't offended by representing villains.
Jenna Ortega didnt want a love interest either. She wanted it to be straight mystery/horror.
If you notice Wednesday does not swing her arms when she walks ,everyone thinks of the dad after the tv show slim but from what I’ve been told this version of the dad is more like the original version of the comic
The student wearing the sunglasses is a vampire.
Mell, I haven't seen it brought up yet. I just wanted to say that, at least in the US, there is no statute of limitations on murder. You can be arrested any time for the murder till you die. There's been killers arrested in their 80s for murders they committed in their teens and twenties.
yeah, it wasn't that he was Hispanic, it's because Luis Guzman wasn't considered conventionally attractive (read: skinny) like John Astin, Raul Julia,Tim Curry, or Oscar Isaac . He was casted to more closely resemble the original comics from the 1930s.
47:20 mark, you asked how long after a crime can one be charged. For murder, there is no statute of limitations.
