This was a lovely trip down memory lane for me. I was a 22 year old hippie flower child in 1972. I was not really into Tarot back then but many of my friends were and I remember seeing some of these decks. They were pretty much the standard decks back then. Now we see so many different styles of decks but not back then. Thank you!
I’ve had a lovely evening glued to the video! I do have a 1988 US Games Herb Tarot Deck. It is a RWS clone. I just look at it as it has never been used. Thank you for sharing your precious collection with us.
Oh, those boxes are so beautiful! 🤎🤎 Ah, the Morgan-Greer Tarot has a special place reserved in my heart! 💙🌟🌟 I could almost smell those old decks through the screen and the artwork immediately sweeps me back in time to, what seems like, simpler times. ☺ It was a treat for my eyes to see these older decks. I really enjoy the colour and cardstock variations. Thanks for sharing, Simon. 🌱🌊
This was great! I actually have a few of these old decks and it was fun to see so many more. I love your Fez deck, I don't think I've ever looked at it closely before. It's wonderful. Thanks for sharing part of your collection with us, Simon. Love the tins - so nerdy and so cool.
Some great decks here! 🤩 You got an old Albano...so jealous!😆 My oldest deck is my Morgan Greer which I bought in 1987 or so. Great video Simon! I enjoyed seeing all these classics again!👍
This was such an interesting video! I really like the older decks, especially the ones with the brighter colors. I had never heard of the JK Waite before and it is lovely. I have to say the Blushing Fool is my favorite. The colors are gorgeous. Thank you for making this video and sharing your decks ❤
Beautiful collection Simon✨😀😃 I don’t have so many decks but I would definitely love to give them to my family if anything happens, along with my books because they have been companions and great help in my journey of life, as well they can help others for sure✨💜and I was forgetting my plants✨🌱😄 for them
In my Heart of Hearts and in my Mind's Eye, and irrespective of which version of Pixie's deck I may hold in my hands: Cups are always silver grey in color, Swords are perennially bright golden yellow, Pentacles are green and red like Christmas, and Wands are forever in fawn colored spring time.... that's the indelible power of Frankie Albano's obsession with Golden Dawn color theory.
You keep saying, "We're all familiar with this deck," but many of these I've never seen. 😁😁😁 Having grown up in the 1960's/70's, I LOVE these older decks and their colors! 😍😍❤️❤️ Thank you for this video. 🤗🤗🃏🃏🃏
Hi Simon, I love the Morgan Greer Hi Simon. I bought a copy for Christmas. I got the pocket size in a tin . My next step is full size and then an older copy xx
Thats why I keep the blank or advertising cards to bookend the deck. Should I drop them or whatever, they add an extra layer of protection. I call them the "protector cards"😂
Thank you for sharing your joy of all your vintage decks Simon. They are all unique my Universal Waite is beside me now as I was playing around with it earlier tonight it's my all time favorite Simon. The yellow tones are a beautiful light golden yellow I just love it and never outgrow it. 💓💞💖
@@the_hermits_cave it was after you did a community tag on your all time favorite top 10 RWS Decks maybe before Christmas 2017. The copy I have was published in 1992 and still selling on Amazon for less than $30.00 Canadian. I was checking out The Chariot earlier using my Mom's magical magnifying glass and never noticed before his top of both arms look like a person's face their right side kind of looks very very real. Never noticed before Simon. If Gerald hadn't done a video on The Chariot cards I'd probably not studied it. I wonder what these faces mean; the crescent moon falls softly just under both. 🥰🙋💞
Simon, thank you.....I am so thrilled that I actually have some those same decks from the 1970's safety stored in a glass case...I also have a 1970's Aquarian Deck by David Palladini too as well as an original 007 James Bond Tarot........and also a 1970's "Grand Etteilla Ou Tarots Egyptiens" that I got in Paris......do you have those two in your collection? 😘💕 sharonah.....
@@the_hermits_cave.... I am actually the original owner .... I bought these decks when I was a youngster ....they used to sell Tarot decks here in the US in Toy Stores....little did I realize then that I would grow up and I would still be "playing" with them... so happy that I took good care of my toys because they are in great shape
Simon, I can never figure out how to do that! I heard you have to go to the group is this true? I have so many that need to go in tins. Cause there just in like makeup zipper bags and I can't tell what I have , (cause boxes r so old I have to take them out of them)
Oh wow, such a wonderful video thank you, so many decks I knew nothing about! I always learn something new watching your videos and I really appreciate that. I love the Strength card in the Tarot Classic with the little dragon/crocodile! 😊 My oldest deck would have been an Aquarian tarot I bought in 1980/81, but I got rid of it at some point. 😢 My oldest one now is a Medicine Woman tarot from 1990 and a Universal Waite from 1993 (I think). But I only received those in the last ten years. I didn't get back into reading until 2021 or so. I think next on my wish list might be a Morgan Greer. It would be interesting to see a comparison of the Morgan Greer and the Aquarian tarot. I haven't read about the history of these decks but it's interesting the artists both chose to use such a close perspective. Is there a history about this? Blessings to you. 💗
@@the_hermits_cave So I did find a video comparing the two decks and they're really not as similar as I had thought. But it's interesting to see how a few of the cards do have similar compositions. The Morgan Greer has many more Smith-Waite style compositions for the deck though, and is quite different. I think the close perspective of both decks threw me off. Just adding this here in case anyone else might be interested. ♥ ruclips.net/video/zLqfqt-L-Bo/видео.html
100 BP for a Hoi Polloi? I am a recent subscriber finding you through searches for Lenormand. Then I found this video and had to share my story. I discovered the Tarot in 1977, HoiPolloi was my first deck. Well loved and well used. I still have it retired in a card box. Thank you for your videos. Robert

No problem, lovely. Pleased you enjoyed it 😍
I loved this Simon, seeing all your older decks 🥰 I was thinking of doing a VR but do they have to be 50 years old? If so I only have 2 like that 😂😍❤️
No, not at all, just your older decks - #ElderDecks

Yes, a lovely chat! I have a few beat up boxes also. I always wonder, how can the box be destroyed, yet the cards absolutely pristine.
Thank goodness they are 😍

My oldest deck is Morgan Greer.
I bought a Morgan Greer in 1983 right after my first RWS. I really wish I had that Morgan Greer now!
I bet!!
Great video Simon! Where do you get those custom tins made? Such a good idea for protecting those precious elders 😂
Thank you! I get them from Make Playing Cards 😍

Sorry, no, I think it was just a handmade gift

Hello! Make Playing Cards is where I get mine from.

do you get the tin boxes printed on especially and where?
thanking you in advance
I get mine all via Make Playing Cards
Hi Simon. I have the opportunity to buy the Moroccon fez tarot for £65 ..is that a reasonable price?
Yes, absolutely! They usually go for a lot more 😍
