A lot of good quality films fail at the box office for whatever reason. Unfortunately in Hollywood it is all about quantity over quality. If a film is really good from a quality standpoint but ends up being a financial failure then it is not considered a hit.
it had a limited release, and was made for prime. They weren't even going to release it in cinemas but decided to because it did well at test screenings. Are Netflix movies failures cause they don't make money at the box office?
@@xyPERSON who's standards are you talking about? It did what the studio wanted it to, bolster Amazon's streaming services. They make their money off subscriptions, anything made in theaters is a bonus.
Not all of followed basketball - but we all knew who Jordan was. And yes we all wanted to be like Mike. Jordan was the definition of "Just do it" 80's was a decade of grinding and pounding. Jordan will never tell you he's the GOAT in fact he himself says he hates that phrase.
Such a great shot of Pre at the end…. Not a mistake!! Probably the greatest athlete next to Jordan that Nike ever had…. “Somebody may beat me today but they’re going to have to bleed to do it” RIP Pre!!!!!
The Air Jordan 12, the transition shoe to the subsidiary Jordan Brand, states on the heel “Quality Basketball Products Inspired by The Greatest Player Of All Time” These sentiments are still continuously conveyed in order to keep the Jordan machine running.
Not so much America, but how Vietnam war vets were treated when they got back. The song was inspired by the book, "Born on the fourth of July," which speaks to similar themes. Blind patriotism, allegiance to the flag and all that stuff, sometimes that can be dangerous.
It's weird seeing people say Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time as I'm from outside the US so never really heard of him as he's really just US based. I heard of the shoes but not him really like people would know the name but not who he played for or what he did. He sounds like a great athlete though
Born in the USA was about how the American Dream is unavailable to so many people, especially Vietnam veterans but this movie uses it to celebrate an athlete making hundreds of millions and a corporation making billions.
Thats right! And they use it to highlight how at the time Jordan and the team at Nike kicked the that establishment in the teeth. You can say they’ve become the establishment, but that just gives a new generation their shot…
My fav part of this movie was them putting at the end that MJ went on the become the GOAT. The writers knew that it’s a hot debate (for some dumb reason). They said screw ur opinions MJ is the GOAT. Also it’s a fact not an opinion.
4 Billion a year for Nike from one shoe...now you know why they are so bothered by the Lebron vs Jordan debate. Lebron is better, but they will never admit it.
This is healthy capitalism this is what makes america great we are talking about shoes not wages, housing, food or anything dude cmon we are talking about shoes ! Dont get ish twisted man

I’m sad this movie didn’t make money at the box office but I know in my heart this is one of the best movies of 2023.
Best movie in the last 3 years you can tell they took time with this one

@@champdude17 Sadly by Hollywood standards they are. Everything these days especially in the film industry is about quantity over quality.

Great movie, great acting, great writing.
Very RARE nowadays!!
1:56 - This killed me! 🤣
Stealing from his own cafeteria!
Not stealing if the cashier is not there
He does own the company.
2:15 for me was the most satisfying part of a great movie overall
Love seeing all the 1980s Easter eggs 🥚🥚
Love seeing the 1980s and love hearing all the 1980s song.
Jordan transcends the sport in a way LeBron never will
Facts. No one will ever surpass jordan
Kid named Ronaldo
no one ever said I want to be like Lebron
Who?
@@sal_monella bullshit! he's never won a world cup and he never will. plus, didn't we see him cry like a bitch after portugal lost at the world cup?
One of the best movies I've seen this year.

SHOE DOG!!!
Ben Affleck is a great director and the best Bruce Wayne and even as batman...
Jesus. Bale has more acting talent in his pinkie finger then Bens whole body. Jesus.
4:02-Not an opinion. It's a fact.
The widely used opinion that MJ is the goat… nah it’s a fact 🐐
Opinion
I love that the whole movie can be watched in one scene, without having to sit through this.
"Just one Guy"😅 0:10
I love this movie
Really watched a movie about a billion dollar company selling shoes to Michael Jordan
And it was awesome!!!! I hate like 95% of modern movies but this one was a classic!
This movie was chefs kiss Ben and Matt were deep in their bag on this. Soundtrack just scratches the surface
4:02 is an absolute fact.
Great movie!
MJ 4ever
great movie
Ever since this movie came out I’ve stocked with Nike🤝 3-14-2024
They all made the right decisions..everybody loves nike shoes..
It isn't a good sports biopic if it doesn't end showing the carrecters carrer with a bunch of text on the screen .

Thanks for this. Any chance you have the opening "money for nothing" clip?
Heavily snubbed by the Oscars! This film was a lot of fun to watch, and had one of the best scripts of 2023
Terrific movie. Well acted!
Ironically, Springsteen's "Born in the USA," is a protest song against America. Look it up.
Yeah, the movie acknowledged it by the characters discussing the meaning.
Not so much America, but how Vietnam war vets were treated when they got back. The song was inspired by the book, "Born on the fourth of July," which speaks to similar themes. Blind patriotism, allegiance to the flag and all that stuff, sometimes that can be dangerous.
But Jordan's story could only be born in the U.S.A.
It's weird seeing people say Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time as I'm from outside the US so never really heard of him as he's really just US based. I heard of the shoes but not him really like people would know the name but not who he played for or what he did. He sounds like a great athlete though
They showed his Dream Team medal ceremony: great subtle troll. Jordan draped Old Glory over the Rebok logo.
MJ- the greatest of all time
Its 1 guy, how much can it be?
maybe it will grow on me haha best line.
'Member Star Wars....member the Millenium Falcon.....member the 80s.....??
This Michael Jordan fella seems like a pretty good basketball player, I wonder if they shoes were any good?
Why the only regret i have is this wasnt shown here so must be better on wide screen nevertheless, it got me emotional still. ❤
Born in the USA was about how the American Dream is unavailable to so many people, especially Vietnam veterans but this movie uses it to celebrate an athlete making hundreds of millions and a corporation making billions.
they literally address this in the movie, lol
Jordans mom said in the movie the family came from nothing to where they were at in the timeline of the movie.
Thats right! And they use it to highlight how at the time Jordan and the team at Nike kicked the that establishment in the teeth. You can say they’ve become the establishment, but that just gives a new generation their shot…
Almost makes you forget about the slave children making the shoes.
JORDAN THE GOAT.
Amazing movie

Who's Michael Jordan?
So capitalism at its finest? Let's pat ourselves on the back for these billion-dollar deals.
Lighten up

It’s better than a Communist controlled where the average person can’t come from nothing and make it.
Ben Affleck sucks.
