All your recipes fit well with Dr. Esselstyn (Reverse your Heart Disease Diet). I also enjoyed watching your appearance on the Johnny Carson show back in the late 80's.
I made this last night. It turned out pretty good. I used about a pound of Murasaki sweet potatoes from Trader Joe’s, a couple golden potatoes, a 12oz bag of frozen cauliflower florets, a 10.5oz bag of riced cauliflower, a couple onions...the rest pretty much as in the recipe, but I don’t have Benson’s Table Tasty, but some other brand/type of salt-free seasoning mix (it’s a bit too much black pepper, tho). I used my stovetop pressure cooker, because that’s what I have. (How can I justify buying an Instant Pot when I have a stovetop pressure cooker that works fine?) I like the no chopping! Just cook and blend! 👍. Thanks Chef AJ!
I use a lot of her recipes. She is into simple. She introduced me to smoked paprika and the idea of not chopping vegetables! She is a good friend of my niece Cathy’s and has an awesome RUclips channel now where she interviews hundreds of health experts and Cathy too. I am making this cauliflower bisque now.

Chef AJ - this is one of the best recipes for soup that I've ever made. Not only is it SOOOO easy to make, but it is over-the-top delicious. I just made a huge pot of it and will share it at our break fast for Yom Kippur tomorrow night. I also love how flexible it is. I'll definitely be trying it with other vegetables as well. THANK YOU!!!!
Hi Chef AJ - thank you for including weights of veggies in your recipes. We get many of our veggies from a CSA and having the weights makes it easy to adjust the recipe amounts to the weight of the veggies we receive. Thank you so much for
I was really wondering how all those whole veggies were going to turn out! Like magic with an immersion blender! Thanks Chef, I hope my family likes the soup as much as I know I will.
No instant pot here. . . anyone else tried this in a slow cooker or on stove top? thinking it would be best to chop up veggies . . .how long was cooking time (approx)? Thanks. This looks wonderful Chef AJ, look forward to making it Today, I ate a Japanese Sweet Potato (cold - roasted yesterday) with macerated blueberries on top. .O.M.G.! It was incredibly delicious. . ..I am really enjoying your recipes.
Hi thank you so much for the recipe! I’m not a fan at all of sweet potatoes (orange or white). Would it work to substitute russet or gold potatoes instead?
Thank you for sharing your recipe. I’ve been wanting to try it forever and finally decided to make it. It is soooo good and so healthy. Thank you for all you do! I’m going to listen to your audiobook again.
I made this today in my 6 quart instant pot. It all fit great. It was easy and looked beautiful, but it was way too spicy for me. I followed your recipe. I wonder if my taste buds are just way more sensitive than everyone else's are? I think I'll try again, but with less of the spices and mustard.
It wasn't just you. I was surprised to see that there weren't other comments about the spice. I began to think I used the wrong measuring spoon. It was way too spicy for my meat eating husband and son. I love spice but could have definitely decreased it so now I have a huge pot which I will have to eat myself. Will be going in the freezer. If I make it again, no more than 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. max.
I put this on to cook (in a large saucepan because I don't have an instant pot) while I ate my oatmeal and berries. It didn't take long and when I blended it I had to have a taste of course and, WoW was that a big mistake - I couldn't stop "tasting" . . . Not such a great idea immediately after oatmeal. hahaha It fantastic. . . I feel like a whole new world has opened to me now as I can picture all the veggies that this will go with. Thanks AJ xo by the way, I didn't use nutritional yeast or mustard as I don't eat them.
My 8-Quart InstantPot is on its way from CA to MA as we speak. I used code: AJ to get $10 off! Thanks for reminding me of that in your last video. This bisque is the first thing I'm going to make when it arrives. I'm so excited to not chop the veggies!
I watched this video months ago and kept thinking about this soup this week. It's in the instant pot! Had to do different spices but I think it'll be good!
You've made this recipe so easy that I'm not intimidated to make it. I made this today and it turned out great. I shared quart of it with my neighbors, and they loved it too. Thanks, Chef AJ.
Thank you for this recipe I made it and now it's my favorite soup. With each serving I added steamed broccoli all I can say is yummmmm !! I added a can of fire roasted tomatoes will see how it tastes :-)
Okay, admittedly, I thought this would be "meh" but was SO intrigued by the HUGE sizes of the cauliflower, sweet potatoes, ONION that I just had to try it. I watched both episodes of this recipe from your shows, and do like this version better. I did use the Chipoltle powder (might have used more like 3/4 teaspoon) and used low salt veg broth instead of water, but otherwise followed it to a "T". Wow, wow, wow! What flavor! My husband (who is a big meat eater) even loved it. I can see adding this to a weekly meal plan (although it will last two weeks, there is so much!). Thank you for your great recipes!!
AJ, you listed all the spices in the show notes but the amounts of each isn't there. I know you told us what it was in the video, but just in case someone was just listening and thought they'd drop down and get the complete recipe, if you could add those in, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I love your videos, but the volume is very low. I turn up the volume on my iPad and it is still not high enough. I’ve learned so much from you and I want to hear you! ❤️
I just made this, and it was pretty darned good. I didn’t have any Benson’s Table Tasty so I wonder what it would taste like with that?? I just ordered your book from Amazon and hope there are a lot more yummy recipes that are doable for me.
I made this according to the recipe with one exception which was I substituted Jewel sweet potatoes for the Hannah since they could not be found. The Jewel were the closest to the Hannah that I could find. It was really good. I froze 4 quarts and had a big bowl for dinner with rice. I had some left over which I used as a dip for potato slices I made -+SOS in the air fryer. Very filling and clean eating.
@@CHEFAJ You are welcome! I was thinking you added vegetable broth but when I watched again that was not the case. How much water do you add? I want to have enough to be effective but don't want to water down the soup. Thanks!
Not sure if you'll get this since you posted this video 2 years ago, but......I don't have an instant pot (yet), but I want to do batch cooking. I'm 66 and live alone but want to start batch cooking. Is there a way to do this recipe in a 6 qt one (I don't have a large kitchen, so the 8 qt will be too big)???

Love your videos. Why do you use a non-fortified brand of nutrional yeast? I thought we were supposed to get the kind that is fortified with B12 to make sure we go that nutrient.
Also, I use the same recipe, sometimes adding greens, other times adding mushrooms. Sometimes adding tomatoes. It is a great base for any kind of bisque.
Our bodies NEED salt. In fact salt is so vital to our brains and bodies that it was once more valuable then gold and why 2,000 years ago, they used to say someone was important or valuable by saying that "they are worth their salt". Our blood is salty like the ocean because it's how our brains talk to our cells. What we don't need is 'table salt'. The reason why doctors tell people to 'avoid salt' is because table salt, like Morton's salt is 8-13% sand. So it's like tiny shards of glass* are traveling through our veins and arteries, causing small cuts. Nature's Band-Aid outside of our bodies are blisters and calluses; inside our veins are bodies create plaque from cholesterol. We do NOT want blockages of plaque in our veins/arteries. That is why early vegetarians and health nuts began to use 'sea salt'. But now that our oceans are so toxic - most use (pink) Himalayan salt now. However, 100+ years ago, an iodine deficiency in our diet caused goiters, so our government started putting iodine in our salt so the entire country would have the trace mineral they needed. So Americans are not only missing the 54 minerals we need and used to get from our soil - but we're not getting a regular iodine dose we need. So taking a kept pill once a day is better than trying to get it from the kelp/seaweed we are supposed to eat. The government only requires farmers put 3 minerals back into the soil - which is why fertilizer is one of the many reason we're going insane from being mineral deficient for decades now. Those shards of salt glass going through our veins leads to heart disease and high blood pressure and blocks in our arteries, the same reason high blood sugar creates shards of glass going through our veins too. Which is why both lead to heart disease as our body creates plaque to patch the cuts in our veins. Salt is not the enemy, the primary source most American's use for salt is what caused the problem(s).
