I grew up eating radishes raw. They were smaller and we salted them and dipped them in olive oil. My mom also sliced them thin as paper and put them in our green salads. I still love them! ❤️
Sounds delicious and much better than store bought radishes. They are rarely very good. It is also true if you let the radishes stay in the ground, they get "hotter" or more peppery.
Don't apologize for making a mess in the kitchen. You are making real food for your family and that is all that matters. I haven't been watching videos as much as I used to so I have to say that I am VERY impressed at what you and Charles have accomplished since buying your home. Great job! You truly have a nice homestead!
Thanks for being genuine! Radishes are so easy to grow… keep looking for a way to eat them, are you maybe letting them get to big, we usually pick very small, like an inch. Their flavour gets stronger the bigger it gets. Thanks for the video
By the time Beryl got to Marshall Texas it had been downgraded to a tropical storm. We are only getting torrential rain but, no strong winds. Everything should move out by tomorrow morning.
I’m an hour west of Houston and we had it still a cat 1 hurricane We had really crazy high winds this morning. It is over for us since this afternoon and it’s been sunny and hot!
Love pancakes for dinner ! So cute Theo helping grandpa in the garden 🪴 cherry pie is one of my favorites . You might have had enough cherries for 2 cobblers or one and a pie 🥧 for the freezer. Rolls look so good . Hope you feel better . Thank you for sharing! 🌸🦋🌸
Dear Noelle I am glad you are back. I am so sorry to hear about the family illnesses. I saw your little girl, the other day, what is her name, the one with the blonde hair. I guess she is about six. I do hope you all feel better soon. ❤
That is our grandson Theo. He is pretty enough to be a girl ❤️He loves his hair long and bangs short. We have tried to get him to cut it but he will not
I watch Celebrating Appalachia you tube -- she has a home made pepper spray that is keeping her squash bugs at bay. Also has several other natural remedies for keeping deer out, etc. Worth the watch.
try a different variety if radishes, some are milder, for cooking i like the white and multi colored and especially the pink which are sweeter and milderin my opinion, for pickling and salads salsas and chowchow i like the red radish you're using. You can try peeling them and/or soaking them in ice water for awhile, i do over night if i have them ahead of time but an hour should help
We aren’t big radish eaters either. But one thing I know is the bigger they are the stronger the flavour. Also when they get big like that they get “woody” ….tough. I can’t wait to see you pickling them and how they taste then.
I also have an electric stove and oven and my oven starting acting weird a while back-- it'd brown in some spots and other spots wouldn't be cooked. Anyway, I ordered a new electric heating element on Amazon (under $20 of i remember right) and changed it out in under 10 minutes. Really easy to do and my oven cooks like new again. So maybe you just need a new heating element.
Maybe finely shave the radishes for coleslaw or salad. Im with charles they are not my thing. With meatoaf cant have it w/out mashed potatoes and peas&corn brown gravy. I glaze mine too. Those rolls looked fabulous🤗
That's the cycle of farm life and anyone who eats any kind of meat that is where it comes from. Even veggies someone grows them and you harvest and eat
It is not for everyone for sure. We love raising our own meat because we know our animals have a wonderful life and it makes you so grateful for the meat you do have ❤️ It also connects you to the food you are eating when you raise it and grow it. Daisy will have a great time on the farm she went to for a couple months and she will love being back home, She does not like trailers however. We love on our animals every day and give them lots of treats . When you buy meat at the store most of those animals have awful lives and are pumped full of chemicals and unnatural feed, We get all of our feed from the local feed store and we keep our cows on grass and hay unless absolutely necessary to give them a natural feed

Try radishes in the crockpot with a beef roast, potatoes, carrots, etc! They'll soften like potatoes and soak up all that good beefy/gravy flavor
Radishes ct up with grn peppers, tomatoes, onions mixed up with ranch . We love them

I am going to replant and try them smaller
For the radishes, maybe try just a bit of butter and salt and pepper...no other seasonings.
Glad you are back!
Thank you

What a great video. I do not like radishes. But when it's pickled i actually like them. As always everything looks yumm 😋😋 Greetz from the 🇳🇱🇳🇱
Love your channel. I have never eaten radishes cooked. I love them raw they are awesome in potato salad and tossed salad too
Thank you for the ideas
We like radishes stir fried in bacon grease.

Theo is a really good helper for Pa!
He is such a good little farmer

I hope that works for us
Cut radishes up and fry in baccon grease with chopped onions very good
Great idea

Thank you
Electric skillets are the best way to fry chicken
I never used mine for that. Good to know
Radishes are meant to be eaten raw with salt
I wish we liked them that way
Your kitchen your rules😅!
Thank you
I find that radishes need to be thinly sliced and sautéed in butter and seasoning.
I will try
A new baby cow that you will feed and fatten up and then eat it? I will never understand that.
It's where your meat in the grocery store comes from.
Um that’s how you get meat 😅
If nobody ate them, there wouldn't be any because they would die out.
