-Cordae just used the book "Chop wood, Carry water" in a song. Wild.
-The book is about discipline & staying focus on delayed gratification rather than instant satisfaction, by doing the monotonous (chop wood, carry water). It has a bunch of small, simple lessons that the average person doesn't do, indicating why individual come in contact with success. Its an easy read & has a lot of life lessons. yY'all should read fs.
-But back to the song, he raps about how he has to turn down other opportunities to focus on his project, hoping that it will turn out good. He's denying himself the fun flashy thing in the moment, sticking to the basics, just like the book suggests.
-Thats easily the most missed bar in the song. ❤🔥

So the thing with Corde, once he split from the group, he had to make his own name for himself. He knows that he has the rap talent and lyrical capabilities, but he needed to get noticed before he could tell his story. So what did he do? Just rapped and spit everything just lyrically enough for you to pay attention, but made it obvious that he was withholding something that we want to see. He's done with the "Hey hey look at me I can rap" albums, it's time to show us what you got while the attention is still on you.
He was in YBN. He hasn't really been consistent though. He barely drops anything. He's similar to Kendrick Lamar in that regard. But Cordae still has a long way to go. He really needs to drop frequently, or people are just going to forget about him.
