    I moved from Notion to Obsidian last year and never looked back. The Canvas is a game changer

      May I ask? I love Obsidian but my problem is that it's local. It creates some friction in collabs etc. How did you solve that?

      @@sofiamalmcomthere’s obsidian sync which you can subscribe to and it syncs on all your devices. If you don’t want to pay there are other options like plugins to sync but they are not that seemless

      @@sofiamalmcomCapacities is a newer product containing Obsidian's graph and backward links and also Notion's object based content

    Obsidian for privacy, graph view, the canvas and open-source. The flexibility of having your notes in markdown files makes it tops for me. Notion is my second choice for the AI integration

    I am surprised that Anytype is on your list, it doesn't have true bi-directional links which is so basic, but like Notion, you can spend a lot of time setting it up. What about Tana or Capacities?

    Coda page width - under the options you point out in the video are more granular options for page settings. You can absolutely have full page width in Coda. 4:03

    The privacy & security politics from those Apps are interesting, too.
    I think, it should be a importimportant rubric to rate all those apps.
    Then you have maybe the half of apps to rate for the rest rubrics.

    I legit wanted to try moving to Anytype. But... The import from Notion was... Unfortunate.

      @@DemetriPanici Notion's data export is generally unfriendly.
      I tried just exporting to markdown, but the zip has such ridiculous file names that it can't even be extracted on Windows.
      And even if you do open it, all the files have long IDs after their names.
      Like, if I wanted to move to Obsidian, it'd likely be nearly impossible.
      Of course, I do understand why they likely did it this way. But it's very lazy.
      As it is, I'd have to write software to fix the whole export to make it usable.

    Great overview, but all this don't let you own your data, and this for many people/enterprises is just not acceptable. You have also good enough (however not that good) slef hosting solutions.

    Comparing such different tools may serve as inspiration, but otherwise makes little sense in my opinion. For me, the only real competitor to Notion with comparable functionality from a technical point of view is Coda.

    Notion vs. CODA = Apple vs. Intel. Just use what works for you. I love CODA, but that's just me.

      Napkin keeps popping up as a notion alternative and it sounds a bit like obsidian but we’re just getting settled in Notion and I’m getting such productivity tool fatigue trying to set up several websites 🥵

      when your voice is at it's deepest, that almost gravely sound is what is vocal fry. I think it sounds fine. @@DemetriPanici
