Same here. Paid off our mortgage a few years ago as a condition to classify myself as FIRE. NOT having that expense equates to not having to EARN about $30k/yr. The rest of our daily expenses now even with greedflation is not as painful
I buy managers specials from Ingles and sale items. I love salads and fresh fruit. This morning I ate a sunflower salad I got for 99 cent. It makes 3 servings 600 calories. Cabbage, edamame, sunflower seeds, cheese, and dressing. Yesterday's lunch was a premade Cesar salad with chicken and cheese for 99 cent. I have a bag of salad with lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, and tomatoes that I got for 99 cent. Today ill probably make deviled eggs as my protein. A few days ago I got a rotisserie chicken from Walmart for $2.53. It fed me 3 meals and fed my outside cats at the end. I got a sirloin steak on managers special for $4.07. It was great. Made 2 meals and scraps for the cats. I went back to get another and it rang up full price. Ingles gave it to me free because it rang up wrong.
I founded a non profit that did job placement assistance with over 1200 employers. I can tell most people their resume isn’t working. Because their resume is about them. Instead of the position and how you match it. No one has a “resume”. But we can all have a resume for each job.
Our emergency fund is in a tax efficient fund that we can access very easily over a couple of days. We have a couplegrand stashed away for immediate minor emergencies along with a credit card we can drag out. We have saved $50 a month since the month we were married for emergencies which we luckily have never had to tap after 25 years and its tax efficient fund. It has grown nicely, but we have never stopped the $50 a month we figure the older we are the more expensive the emergencies will become.
While watching I shifted some of my investing money to boost my short term emergency fund. I had planned on building that up over time but decided it might be a good time to boost how fast I build that up for a few months before resuming my usual contributions.
Do most of your recommendations. This year, I haven't bought a book or music, I use youtube and the Libby app from the library. I don't have any streaming services - other than Amazon Prime Video - which I am thinking of not renewing. Aldi and Trader Joe rock in the grocery store space. Thank you for a great show. Teeth so white, Ms. Shewolff, nice!
I save by not shopping there. The only whole food I eat is meat and eggs. I'm saving tons of money by not buying any garbage such as fruit and vegetables which only raise your blood sugar and make you have to go to the bathroom constantly
I keep a 0% intro credit card incase of an emergency. The cards also come with bonus rewards that are easily achieved by paying my home and auto insurance with the card. I keep an emergency fund in a 5% High yield savings account but I've never pulled money from it. The 0% credit cards give me time to pay for the emergency. Once my daughter needed a new roof. $10k and I paid it off in 4 months with lots of overtime.
Insurance coverage isn't based on market value, it's based on cost to rebuild. However, to your point, I'm surprised they didn't automatically reindex for inflation (cost of materials, labor) at the last renewal, so it's odd that the coverage amount didn't increase from year to year. Thanks for the content!
Liberty Mutual customer here for a couple of decades. They recently contacted me they will be dropping our umbrella policy in a couple of months. Need to look into this now 😩. FREAK!
I would also add think about what you would wear to an interview, do you have 2 appropriate outfits. If not now when you have the means is the time to hunt out a bargain
Depending on a credit card assumes that the banks won’t lower available credit limits without warning like they did I. 2008-2009. Also Mindys has access to funds which doesn’t reflect the most people who don’t have access to cash! Definitely not reflective of most people. This episode definitely caught my attention!
This is a great video because I also think senior citizens who get social security need cut their budget by 25% just in case social security is reduced by. 25% percent as has been talked about

Everyone has been saying there's a recession for four years at this point but I work at a job that provides a luxury service and people keep coming I literally have no shortage of work I've been offered lots of jobs and I constantly have to turn them down. If there was really a recession even the poor people wouldn't come.
Food is where most people over spend. If someone tells me 3 days in a row they ate from a restaurant, I know they are broke. One thing my well off friends have in common is cooking at home.
Having the house paid off has been a game changer. Not worried about a recession since we have always lived below our means. 🎉
How much was your house when you bought it?

This episode was packed with so much useful information which was highly practible and not fluff! Thank you!

Love Mindy and Amanda both but especially love that Amanda brings in consideration of those with less money.

Just started shopping at Aldi and cut my grocery bills by 40% 😊.
Please use an independent insurance broker. They will shop many carriers and find you the best deal. That way you aren’t doing the foot work yourself.
Rocket Money doesn’t audit itself was hilarious 😂
Another great way to save is to work at whole foods part time and you will get an additional 20% off. I do this and its great!
No thanks.

Can you please share a resource for a professional resume writer?
Liberty Mutual customer here for a couple of decades. They recently contacted me they will be dropping our umbrella policy in a couple of months. Need to look into this now 😩. FREAK!
I saved 36% by ordering pickup at Walmart vs going in
I saved 100% by not going there

AMANDA, please list the professional resume person/company you used!!!
I go to local used book stores in different towns and get books really cheap😊
Amazon prime is just not shopping it has streaming and most NBA games will be on it next season. Plus should be a tax deduction for you
The music and the happy jumpy attitude doesn’t go with a recession
So then don’t watch 🤷♀️
