That is amazing, that you bagged the books as you went thru them, really cool to preserve them regardless of where the books ended up, Bravo! Whenever I go thru Books with no back boards and the original sleeves since the Golden Age, it pains me to see the books treated that way.
Fantastic video, Swagglehaus. Thank you for doing this. I saw flipmodes update videos, but this is an amazing insider look. What a fantastic video. Thanks to you Jamie and Felipe.
The best part of the video was hearing how a dealer thinks and it makes perfect sense. This collection is insane please let me know when and where you list the Golden age!!
Dynamic Comics #8 $45,138, Captain America comics #46 $31,165, Chamber of Chills #19 $31,050, All Select comics #1 $29,037... that's a pretty good start to this week's sales! Do you know why these didn't get a gold 'pedigree' label from CGC?
They mentioned the grades of the books weren’t high enough to qualify. But they are naming the collection on the label, it just doesn’t get the gold/black.
The honorable thing to do would be cut them in for a % and flat rate up front. They will likely pay the auction house more in fees (if they arent waved) than this persons family.
Of the stories of huge collection purchases, there's never any discussion of the price, or even the percentage that the buyer is offering!?.. That would be very helpful. I am a buyer of collections myself and I always offer TWO prices. #1 the price for the books that I would like, which is always a higher percentage somewhere between 40 and 60% of registered and official SOLD prices. #2 is a price I offer is for the entire collection, but I carefully and honestly explain to the seller, "look 90% of this stuff has little to no monetary value and will take more effort and time for me to sell then it is worth" "however I will present you with a two options (the second option is some thing that no other buyer will even tell you because most are honestly unaware and that was it I won't tell you). You can donate these books to a 501 C3 registered charity and get full retail right off prices off of your taxes, (PLUS you'll save all of the time and effort listing these books and trying to sell them, and most of them will not sell for more than $.50 a book) OR! "If you prefer cash I can offer you… ' and then I make an offer that is very low because I really don't want the books but will donate them to charity myself, and or, give them away for free to winners of our daily online auctions lol- BRIAN6 on Whatnot , Card_And_Comic_Investments on eBay
, Finding a collection all the way over there from California and then asking for money to buy it? More like doing the work for someone else and taking credit lol Stop the cap and tell the truth, your just consignors
The yellow and red were popping on those Captain Science books!

I bought two Bobby Blues and can't wait for them to come in. I'm going to do an unboxing when they come in.

GREAT HISTORY AWESOME
Glad you enjoyed it!
When is the claim sale for all these books?
Was 1 million the price paid or what they think it is worth?
It’s what it is likely worth in my estimation. But We will see at comic connect how the books perform.
Is the collection going to be considered for pedigree status due to the depth & original ownership?
They mentioned the grades of the books weren’t high enough to qualify. But they are naming the collection on the label, it just doesn’t get the gold/black.
yoooo! reach out if you want to unload the EC comics :)
Yo

That's not how this works
I certainly wouldn’t trust anyone coming from California. Smokey and the Bandit all the way back.
Haha right?
