    Double bonus with this one!

    NICE project! The shots with the ping pong balls shows another piece that looks like a lower plywood stop block. Is that correct? Thanks.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 года назад

      It took me a while to figure out what you were referring to but I get it now. That plywood block was just placed there to keep the catapult from firing while I took a picture of it. I guess you could make it a permanent feature of the catapult but it was not its intention and was only put there temporarily. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    Man I was watching this thinking "Cool I got stock for this"..gonna try it.
    (btw how did you drill 1/4 holes in that wood with out it splitting?)
    Then the end comes and this 50 yr old man with failing eye sight (not lol)
    turns into a overall wearing 8 yr old, with a sling shot in his back pocket
    incase the catapult fails, madman giggling.
    You sure your name ain't Calin and own a stuffed tiger??
    Sorry I'm long winded tonight lol. Take care.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 года назад

      For starters, I've never had an issue drilling pine. You just have to make sure your bit is sharp. Twist bits will split it like there is no tomorrow but a brad point will cut it no problem. As for the 50 year old man.....you missed a couple of years. The 8 year old boy? He's in all of us. It's just that some of us are afraid to let him out. As for Calvin, my mother used to like that comic strip because it reminded her of me as a boy. I was a handful to say the least. LOL. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week Dale. Now get out there, make a catapult and bring out the overall wearing 8 year old in you. LOL.

    Hey Ken, I could tell that you made the catapult for yourself. Now if you really want to have a discussion with your wife over the need for making such a weapon for a child take it into your living room with the kids. Just to have a little extra fun, as the kids would do, get some golf balls, not wimpy ping pong balls, and then in about 6.5 seconds sit down with your wife and talk about the need for a new plasma television to replace the broken TV. Ain't we having fun? God Bless my friend.
