Best thing I’ve ever used besides cut bait and chicken liver was actually chunks of cheap beef. Blood in the water = BIG catfish. Also never under estimate a live blue gill (crappie is even better) about a 2-3” bluegill a foot off a big bobber early in the morning or right at sunset. 😎
@@Thealmightybyron try sardines smell of them catfish pike and bullhead loves smell of them .u can cut them up in parts or just use whole fish put hook threw mouth and head when u go reel it back in it make it look they swimming away from them make them case it faster
With monofilament, when the hook gets stuck, it normally just snaps off at the swivel and all you loose is the hook, a cork, and a 3 foot long leader. But with braid, it does not snap, and you loose your whole rig along with a ton of line you had to cut off. That can be 75+ yards of line left in the water if you’re fishing off of the bank. Not only is braid a complete waste of money, it forces you to litter and leave a shit load of it in the water. 20 pound monofilament is far superior for catching catfish.
@@fathersonfishing3941 that’s not the point🤣 my point is you don’t need a shark rod and 30 pound test that’s crazy!!😭 only real fisherman can use light gear and catch big fish
