By the 80s he was the most recognized human ever to have existed by an order of magnitude. The Beatles were bigger than Jesus, MJ was more popular than the Beatles.
But Dr. Grande probably wasn't born, certainly not old enough to be following music trends, when Michael Jackson was part of the Jackson 5. Jackson's career as a private artist did take off in the 80s when Dr. Grande says he was a kid.

One interesting thing that Macauley Culkin has said was that Michael didn't really enjoy meeting or hanging out with other adults aside from a select few. To Michael, all the adults were just interested in his money or a business opportunity, whereas kids could actually see him as a friend. He also mentioned that the kids Michael chose to befriend were aspiring child stars. This is important because Michael wanted to protect them and provide guidance to them because he knew how cruel the industry can be.

Such a weird story from any possible angle. An adult befriending kids, even sleeping in the same bed without feeling extremely awkward or being aware how suspicious this looks. The parents of the kids involved in this being ok with and supporting this friendship. And the huge amount of money on top of it all that gives everybody involved their own incentives for doing nefarious things.

@@teamcougars - as TheDizzleHawke says - to bring awareness to the problem of child sex abuse - but also because those he hurt are still alive and their lives have been affected by their experiences.
This film shows how predators like Jackson operate and that is valuable information for all of us: too many people have unrealistic notions that sexual predators grab kids in a dark alley and rape them, or are hateful people that we can identify easily.
This film showed that often times their victims love and respect the person who abuses them - this leads to them denying the abuse when asked as they wish to protect their abuser.
Guilt over sexual behaviour - still far too prevalent in most societies - also acts to silence abused children - this film dealt sensitively with all of these issues. I do not agree that it was boring - I found it riveting and informative.
@@honeychurchgipsy6 Exactly! That is why Leaving Neverland is so important. I suspect many MJ fans are afraid to watch it because they might actually believe the victims. I found the documentary to be many things, but boring was definitely not one of them.
When your a grown man you don’t spend the night with children in your own bed. It’s weird and it’s wrong. He should have known this but his fame and power got in the way of his judgement. Michael had a ton of psychological problems stemming from his childhood and his abusive father. He didn’t have a proper childhood and decided to have another childhood as an adult. He was a 50 year old child. Dr. Grande is right, we don’t know 100% if he was a predator but his weird behavior made him look guilty.
It's weird to us, but our mistake here is judging his behavior based on our intuition. He was chemically neutered by his father to keep his high voice which caused all kinds of development issues. People who talked to him said his interest was that of a 12-year-old. Comics, cartoons, etc. To me, it makes perfect sense, given these facts, that he would feel more comfortable with children in a non-sexual way.

An I believe he didn’t but sense everyone just focused so hard on his interest and mental stress of not having a child hood they assumed the worst. Michael Knapp Yes we can know if he was predator or not, it only takes a few hours of research to find how where those allegations originated (NAMBLA pedophiles who targeted him since childhood and one of them assisted Evan Chandler to concoct allegations) and how absolutely ridiculous they are for literally hundreds of reasons. His sleepovers have nothing to do with fame and power. What power did he have anyway when America treated him like less than human any nobody could tell any lie about him and get away with it? MJ grew up sleeping with others all the time including unrelated adults who treated him better than his own father. He literally considered sharing his bed as an act of hospitality. I totally agree with you. I would NEVER have let my child have a sleepover/s with an adult. I don't care how famous or rich the fucker was. It's a major red flag. Having said that... Michael was an oddball. He lost his childhood thanks to mean Joe. But I really don't think he sexually abused any children. Not 1 famous rich person/ child has ever said he touched them. @@dragonflysteampunk4266 one of the main reasons he settled was because his team and lawyers advised him too because if a case goes to civil court before a criminal court then all the evidence would have to be laid out and if the accusers team had inconsistencies and holes in their story they could then change dates and evidence and that would leave Michaels defence going in blind. It makes complete sense that he would want to pay them. It’s strange to me that even when the 1993 accusations went to court the parents didn’t want to be involved anymore and refused to testify

I met and conversed with Michael Jackson on a plane trip from El Paso to Dallas his brother's sat behind me and Michael to my left. Their father, Joe was seated up toward the front of the plane. Michael was to perform for the Ed Sullivan show in New York. Before boarding the plane, I saw Michsel practicing dance moves before boarding. I got the impression that his brothers were indulgent. But during the flight, Michael chewed his fingernails and focused on Joe, who constantly called Michael forward on the plane. The parental control he was subject to was overwhelming. I see Michael as a nervous and frustrated kid who just wanted to escape the controlling adult world. Children would be his escape. But Children grow and change rapidly. So their presence would never be on a plateau like adulthood. So, he sought out more than a few. This would be his neverland.
That's a really good analysis. I agree. I don't think he sought out s*xual gratification from children. He definitely wanted an escape, to be a child and to maintain a presence of innocence that was robbed from him by fame. Who could blame him? He just wanted to be the child who he wasn't allowed to be.

That is why I like Dr. Grande's channel. Even when he is going to catch a lot of flak he is still honest and sticks to the facts as they are known (since a lot of the facts never become public knowledge).

Normally I like Dr. Grande's reviews and analysis. But not this one. I found the movie not boring at all and I feel like Grande misses the bigger picture about the kind of offender Michael might have been.
The master criminal theory is not in that movie at all imo. I don't know what Grande watched but this time I can see he was previously biased. The offender Michael might have been is not a master criminal but more of a naive pedophile with too much power and an unique way of grooming based on his persona. I would have expected a totally different kind of analyses even though Grande does make some reasonable points.

@@jeffreyking4448 How do you *not* find it boring? At least 30% of the “documentary” is repeated drone shots from high in the sky. It just goes on and on. Also, I was born in 1978, and like Dr. G, I lived this in real time. I remember everything as it occurred. I remember Michael being my first favorite artist, my first crush, my first huge confusion over his ever-changing appearance and the constant tabloid reports. I remember when the first accusations happened and, on live television, Michael (via satellite from his home) spoke out and urged the world to allow him to prove his innocence. Then, I recall that he settled, rather than doing so.
As a lifelong, hardcore MJ and Janet fan (I honestly do not love any artists more than them), I recall feeling conflicted and questioning his innocence. That went on for a number of years, though it never deterred my adoration for his craft. Still, I doubted him. I recall when the Basher documentary was aired. It looked so bad. Michael seemed so lost and so opposite of the man I’d loved from the age of 2. It was difficult to look at him. It hurt my spirit. It was painful to imagine all of the craziness. But, again, I watched and lived all of this stuff in real time, and I’m leaving out things, as there’s just so damn much (his marriage and on/off relationship with Lisa Marie, his absurd sham of a marriage to Debbie because she was his surrogate and he was still seeing Lisa Marie, how he looked and seemed at his celebration that was filmed in NYC just a day or two before the 911 attacks, etc).
Phew. There’s more to unpack than I have the energy. But NONE of it was boring. This movie is one-sided trash with absolutely no evidence, and though it shouldn’t exist at all, if it had to, it should’ve been 90 minutes, at most. Finally, I have read, watched, and listened to every piece of evidence from the State of California and the FBI files, as related to Michael Jackson and these allegations. It took a long damn time to do, but I did it. And, finally, Wade Robson is a snake in the grass. Just a few years before this “documentary,” he can be found singing Michael’s praises and insisting he will be apart of the Vegas show that was created. Wade was not hired or used for said gig. Wade is not a honest or noble person. Read up and learn about him. He’s after money. That’s a fact. He feels entitled to said money. As for Safechuck, he just seems easily swayed and desperate, too.

MJ was ‘smart enough’ to know which boys he needs to hold back on & which he can go all the way with. I believe that if Michael had done anything wrong the FBI could have got him. The fact that they investigated him for 10 yrs and found nothing is huge on its own in absolving Michael of any offences leveled against him. Let his soul rest in peace.

It has taken up residence on this video along with a handful of other trolls, with numerous fake profiles. It/they have mental health issues. This would make an interesting case study for Dr Grande.
Also of note: one of the maids, and one of the star “witnesses” in that movie, was fired by Michael in the 90s (I believe- don’t quote me on exact dates) and subsequently lost a lawsuit and was sued by Jackson. I couldn’t think of a more believable motive. Every single person who accused him of anything had something to gain. And those who didn’t need the money or fame- at least not as much(Macaulay Caulkin, Corey Feldman, and Aaron Carter), said their relationship was one of the purest, safest, and most innocent in their young lives.
Probably Adrienne McManus. She was fired for stealing a lot from Michael's property. Blanca Francia was a maid that was with Michael in the 1980s.

Unbiased? Todd Grande is obviously a Michael Jackson fan. That seems to be clouding his judgment, like that of many other fans who refuse to believe the artist they grew up with, and whose music they loved so much, was a pedophile and child molester.

They literally threw my parents out of their house and my brother wasn't allowed to see him again. His parents never believed that their son could do something so horrible. He said that his lawyers advised him to stop putting himself in a position to be extorted like this, but he indignantly maintained that since he is doing nothing wrong, there is no need for him to stop. It showed a spectacular naiveté that was sad to watch. They say he had Peter Pan Syndrome, stunted emotional growth. If that is the case, it would explain a lot.

He didn't have any Peter Pan syndrome. He was just a person that related well to children, but was around lots of people including a lot of adults. People only focus on children because it's salacious. If you have ever seen videos of Michael playing, you'd see he was really an adult being goofy rather than a person with some kind of syndrome.

I’ve got fourteen years of normal life to draw on, but Michael only had seven or eight years, and those years were far from normal. Plus he was a million times more famous than I ever was. But the truth of being rich and famous is that it then becomes possible to live life in an extreme way, unfettered by many of the constraints that most of us have to live with. And that can cause great damage. Sadly, I have personal experience of that happening. The person can easily tip into a world that is unbalanced, and sometimes quite dark. They can then begin to see reality in a distorted way - the usual ‘moderators’ are not there. The most obvious example being with the use of drugs, which can then go on to cause even greater distortions. Even on a low level, and without drug use, a person who is largely unfettered by things like money can end up overplaying their hand, and wielding too much power, which I have seen backfire and damage relationships and self worth. There is much to be said, from what I have seen, for the things that moderate our lives. Even being extraordinarily talented can bring the shadow side of human nature into the equation. Being an artistic genius is not necessarily a recipe for happiness. It can lead you to question yourself and what you are doing, to anguish and torment in some cases, and it can also build a climate of distrust, as you get to be more and more suspicious of people’s motives for befriending you. At this point you can even begin to doubt those friends and family members who you have always trusted. So not only the genius suffers, but those close to them, too. Not for everyone. Some manage to handle great wealth and great fame. But many get burnt. It’s that old one about absolute power corrupting absolutely. And people with huge wealth and fame can also fall foul of unscrupulous people around them, who want a chunk of the action. Genius is, it seems to me, a bitter sweet thing in which you fly extraordinarily high, but also have the ability to fall from these exceptional heights. It’s a difficult one, but I have seen people undone by fame and fortune, and adopting extreme and unhealthy ways of living. What an irony that having money, power, fame - things many of us would secretly rather like to dabble with - myself included -can have the potential to wreck lives.
Michael loved his fame. He felt it was God's way of providing him with love and provisions for not only poor children but for a damaged world.
As someone who was a victim of abuse since childhood I understand how victims can not understand what they experience was abuse, I was in my 40’s before I could come to that realization. But I never changed my story, I always knew and could tell anyone exactly what had happened. I don’t want to claim a person who is a victim is just trying to manipulate the system. At the same time people who put out false claims ruin it for those of us who are real victims. I will never be able to come to a real conclusion about MJ.
I saw some of their interviews in Leaving Neverland, and I think that they definitely knew what happened, but that Michael managed to persuade them that he needed their help to save him, and their protection against the accusations - so he cast them as the heroes in their own little fantasyland, and that's why they denied all the charges back then. I found that quite believable - but then, I am neither a psychologist, nor an abuse victim, so I wouldn't know to which point you could actually be gaslit into defending your abuser.

The explanation they said in the doc of being manipulated and why they changed their story is believable until you actually read court docs. They changed their stories about 6 times over the course of their lawsuits alone. Their stories kept evolving with each contradicting the last over the course of the lawsuit. Like looking back doc after reading court docs, there are many things that really do not make sense and they left out a lot. Like one that that really jumped out to me was Wade’s story of when he was first abused. When you read his and his mother’s depositions on Wade’s first claim of his abused it completely does not make sense.

I never thought Michael Jackson was guilty of child abuse. He was guilty of simply being weird. As for the parents, every one of them failed to show good judgment regardless by allowing their children to stay overnight at the ranch.

I have to disagree in regards to law enforcement being viewed as competent; I work with several victims of childhood sexual trauma who had law enforcement drop the ball, in regards to the crimes committed. It's not an uncommon commentary; I myself was a victim of childhood sexual trauma by an adult and when law enforcement was notified, they took a report and it didn't go any farther than that. It's probably the most egregious category of lack of justice within the US legal system.

When I worked as a medical social worker I discovered that clients who were being untruthful with me usually embellished their stories in order to attempt to add validity to their claims. Sadly, I finally began to notice an unsettling pattern which was that people who were dishonest often went over the top with their accusations. It appears as though Wade Robson and James Safechuck have fallen into the same pit. It's always astonishing to see just how far people will go for money--they will completely ignore the harm done to others in endeavors to get what they want.

I graduated with a post graduate degree in documentary filmmaking, and I want to address a common misconception. Many people think that a documentary is supposed to provide all the information on a topic (ie: both sides of a story or all of the research), however the foundation of documentary film is simply non-fictional storytelling. Documentaries are just capturing life or a story as it is happening in real time. In the case of a film that is retelling the story after the event has occurred, you are more likely to have a lot of research and development prior to filming & as a result have more information provided. @@thecollector4332 yes, you are totally right. James and Wade could have pursued legal action & filed a lawsuit. However, a lawsuit and documentary are separate channels of income. I stated that they didn't receive any financial compensation from appearing in a documentary, and that is true. James and Wade were not paid by the filmmakers for appearing as subjects / giving testimony, they do not own the documentary, and they have no rights to any residual profit of the film. If either of the men have financial profits from a lawsuit to the MJ estate, then they would be receiving income form the lawsuit & that is not money earned from the documentary. I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for your interesting analysis. I keep thinking about Michael's last voice recording by Dr. Murry (Michael's personal physician who was charged for 2 years imprisonment as responsible for michael's death ). I was completely amazed by what Michael said to Dr. Murrey in that tape while he was under the influence of Propofile and was in a horrifying state of being. In that recording, right before dying, the only thing he talked about to his Dr. was to build more hospitals for children, how much he loved children, how much he felt their pain, and the fact that he himself had never had a childhood. He obviously could not have been calculating or lying about his deep sense of care, responsibility, and love for children to the last minute of his life. Can such a person be a child abuser? If you haven't heard this recording, please find it on the internet. I would love to hear your comments about it. I am not a"fan" of MJ, but I believe that he is completely innocent and these guys are after money! Thank you.

The answer is yes, such a person CAN still be a child abuser. There's a possibility that MJ thought that what he was doing wasn't 'abuse'. He probably believed that's how he was showing love and affection, in his own twisted way. He was probably delusional. I think the reasons Dr. Grande lays out as making him look 'suspicious' and guilty are enough to convince anyone of his guilt. This isn't normal behavior, and the only reason it was tolerated and he got away with it every single time was BECAUSE he was so famous and loved. He could do whatever he wanted, and he did.
Also, Dr. Grande should look into the list of items that FBI found in his home that also would add to some highly 'suspicious' behavior. The man literally had a children's theme park in his backyard. His whole behavior, the things he would choose to surround himself with, the clever manipulation of families and victims, the fact that he did not stop after the first accusation. You can't stop a compulsion. You can't stop being attracted to a certain type of person that you're attracted to. He had a 'type'. He didn't sleep with 'kids', he slept with cute little boys, that he would "dispose" of later after they'd grow up. That man was sick and he should have gotten help.

I came to the same conclusion, and I will add this: To me, it is suspicious that these two accusers waited until Michael was dead. It makes me suspect their motives as being purely financial gain; perhaps justified by them telling themselves it can't hurt Michael because he's no longer here. Regardless, again I concur, it's tragic.
There is nothing that suggests that the two specifically waited for Michael to pass away. Both Safechuck and Robson explain in the documentary that the phase of having their own children is what significantly contributed to helping them recognize and accept that they indeed were abused by Michael. That being said it is not unusual for victims to come forward after the perpetrator is no longer present; just take a look at Jimmy Saville's case. Are you to suggest that the hundreds of alleged Saville's victims were also driven by financial gain?

It was found that the train house had not been built at the year he mentioned when he was that age. And a host of other allegations that don't add up. y'all don't seem to realize that michael jackson didn't actually sleep with children on a daily basis or even a regular basis. the only real testimony of him sleeping in the same bed as a child is Gavin Arvizo. which is what you all talk about but you're doing it from a 5 second clip where gavin says "michael said if you love me you'll get on the bed" however when you watch the whole damn thing, the context of the situation is that gavin wanted to sleep with michael but michael decided that he'd sleep on the floor and leave the bed to gavin. gavin insisted but michael stood his ground and said that quote to him. on top of that, they werent actually alone. frank cascio (michael's assistant at the time and family friend) said that michael invited him to sleep on the floor with him because apparently he didn't trust the arvizo family and he didn't want to sleep alone with the kid.
I also just read that his niece was there the whole time Wade Robson was there and they actually ended up dating as teens. So she contradicts his story

I've found a few with the whole conversation/interview and he says Michael wanted him to sleep on the bed and Michael would sleep on the floor. So they went back and forth with "no, you sleep on the bed" "no, you sleep on the bed" and to end it Michael says "if you love me, you'll sleep on the bed" meaning the final you (Gavin) sleep on the bed with your brother and I'll (Michael) will sleep on the floor. Not "if you love me you'll sleep with me in the bed"

i have always felt that Michael was likely guilty of poor boundaries and probably had developmental issues. I'm the same age as he would be and i remember how famous he was at such a young age, it's likely he never had 'normal' childhood experiences. it was also always rumored that his father was harsh and demanding, pushing him beyond his limits, using Michael and the other children for his own aggrandizement. How could a child raised in that way possibly learn to develop healthy human relationships and boundaries? (of course one could argue that a few of his siblings may have turned out to be reasonably functional adults) The scope of his talent and generosity makes him appear to be sensitive and emotional, but with no other outlet than fantasy which he had the means to express creatively, but not interpersonally. I don't know if this was addressed in the movie but he was also a pretty severe drug addict, which further impacted his judgement and behavior, and ultimately led to his death. I'm not ruling out that he may have been sexually inappropriate, but I don't see him as doing it for manipulation or control. I believe he was a lonely tragic man, trying to live the childhood he never had and found joy in sharing that with other disadvantaged children who would also been deprived of a 'normal' childhood. Yeah he had developmental issues. He was abused severely by his father, and was forced to work as a performer from a young age. That’s not gonna produce a normal person.
Not to mention the fact that the media has always painted him as weird and bizarre, allowing us to believe any narrative that could be construed about him. For example like when they used to say his skin was white because he didn’t want to be black anymore. A lot of us believed that and not until he died did the autopsy actually tell us he had been telling the truth. :/

Yea wow. They told their story after he died. My cousin molested me at 3. He was shot and killed when I was 9. I didn't tell anyone til I was 13. When I was 9 my dad molested me. I'm 31 now. My mom died four years ago and I never told her. I didn't really understand what happened. My father was schizophrenic and the abuse involved a lot of catatonic behavior. So I was left confused and disocating. I wouldn't understand this until a few years ago while in therapy.

OK but what was most suspicious about the documentary was the mother of Safechuck said she "danced for joy when MJ died for what he did to her son" in 2009 when he would have been nine years old, ´when Safechuck himself said both in a sworn court deposition and on Oprah that he "didn't realize he was molested until he was 13 years old", so the mother couldn't have known back in 2009. Also Safechuck alleged that the abuse intensified in 1989 after MJ's Grammy performance in New York, despite the fact that the Grammy's was held in LA that year. But leaving all that aside, where is the hard evidence? All we have to go on is their word. Last time I checked it was only women who got believed without question, I thought men still had to provide proof? Yeah I smell a massive money grubbing rat.

The big difference Culkin had from Jackson's accusers is Culkin's wealth, I think that's very telling. I think is could be the reason they remained friends and the other didn't. Culkin and MJ were in the same world, the other had to go back to their world's and I can only speculate, when Jackson's child friends became teenagers & money came in to the relationship as it inevitably would, in Jackson's eye's they'd become like every other adult in his life and while not cutting them out of his life completly, he'd keep them at a distance . The two guys in the documentary had failed careers and were having financial difficulties in the years since Jackson had passed away. Also they seem to be harbouring feelings of rejection. I would be interesting to know if Jackson had funded or financial helped those two until his death. Paedophile's know what they're doing is wrong & not acceptable to society, they go to great lengths to hide their depraved side. The fact Jackson made no bones that he enjoyed the company of children & in the documentaries he authorized he doesn't shy away from sharing that part of his life, instead he embraces it. Abusers are very good at differentiating between those they can exploit and those who will kick up a fuss and retaliate. I do agree with you that McCaulay Culkin was not targeted because he also had wealth and influence. But speaking as someone who used to enjoy MJ's music, and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt initially, I can't agree with you that Jackson appeared "innocent" to me. He suffered an abusive childhood and was exposed to sex via his older siblings at a very young age and I believe became irrevocably mentally damaged as a result. It's interesting that Dr Grande covers none of these details of MJ's early life in his analysis, especially when one considers how crucial our developmental years are in forming who we become as adults.

I think it was his childhood trauma from his father. He don't realize how weird it is to share a bed with children, especially boys because they're the same sex and Michael's not gay. The children he invited to the house were orphans, seriously ill and had no childhood, he just thought it was right to share love with them, and everyone should do it. He never invited anyone to his bed, they played around his house and slept wherever they wanted, he used to sleep on the ground or go to another room to sleep. It was mentioned, but one of the most important considerations to me is that he was so very famous and rich. The fact that so many people depended on him for money or wanted money from him throws shade on their motivations - this goes for people who would defend him or the people who say they were abused by him. It’s difficult to know the reality of the situation when everyone involved is potentially compromised.
The Michael Jackson case reminds me so much of a Sherlock Holmes tale. Michael Jackson looked and acted in a way that made him LOOK guilty to the casual observer, but when the facts and circumstances are actually studied, the accusations against him fall apart.
Once you get past that, you can go back and look at why Jackson acted the way he did, and it’s really just a tragedy. Assuming he is innocent (which, again, the facts strongly sugges), his life is one of the saddest you could possibly have. My belief is he desperately wanted to be loved by his father and others, but instead he took constant abuse and his way to cope with it was to create a place where he could both experience what it was like to be a child and also act as a father figure for children he believed could have had lives similar to his. He didn’t want any child to grow up the way he did. It was socially inappropriate at times, but I do not believe he was a predator and I believe he was genuinely naive and good-natured.
I only started believing this recently. I was watching Michael's eyes as he performed at 11. Go back to those videos. He was in fear, definitely of Joseph. Because he worked so much as a child, he was uneducated, so when he said things like the most loving thing you can do is share your bed, is definitely misunderstood.

Wade and James's stories actually haven't been consistent. Wade has changed his story multiple times since 2013 and James didn't hop on board until he knew of Wade's lawsuit with the Michael Jackson estate.

i’ve heard that people can become stuck at the maturity level they had at the time of being traumatized. we KNOW joe jackson was a monster who abused and exploited every member of his family, forcing a very young michael to work like an adult performer. it makes sense to me that MJ never really matured past that early time in his life. perhaps mentally, he was 9 years old, and could only relate to other people at that level. because he was forced to work harder than any child ever should, he had an amazing work ethic throughout his life, and of course he was extraordinarily talented, leading to his success. but he never really had any successful romantic relationships. personally, i believe MJ was a generous person who loved helping others; and he spent his free time playing with kids with whom he could identify. we can never know for sure, but i do believe MJ was innocent, and an easy target
There’s a Brazilian documentary called “Michael Jackson: innocent or guilty?”, and there we can see that all of that accusations were inconsistents in many matters. The film doesn’t defend Michael, just the truth. They did a lot of analysis, including facial.

If you watch the Bashir special "Living with Michael Jackson" and you go toward the end when Bashir is interviewing the boy who recovered from cancer, there's a moment that the boy says:
"he really a child at heart, he acts just like a child."
I think that's it. I think the other kids just saw him as a big kid because maturity wise and emotionally he was.

@@UnBroken11100 I knew somebody with PeterPan syndrome. They are an adult physically but child mentally, he did end up being arrested and charged as a sexual predator. No matter the age, there is still a need of a system of discipline in order to learn, which children often have trouble grasping unless something mundane traumatizes a child, usually something such as touching hot objects, getting bit by an insect etc. Children will often repeat an action without proper discipline. Michael might not have realized what he was doing was wrong, but being America's pop sweetheart proceeded to protect him. Safechuck claims to have been sexually abused by MJ between 1988 and 1992 and one of the places where he was allegedly abused was the train station, which was not finalized until 1994. However, in 1994 he was 17 or 18 years old and this does not fit the narrative mentioned above at all. Moreover, in Leaving Neverland Wade and James said that they had never met each other before Leaving Neverland and that MJ was trying to keep his "victims" apart. However, behind the scenes of the production of the Jam video clip filmed in 1991, we can see that Wade, Brett Barnes and James Safechuck are together.

Hundreds of victims and people who witnessed the abuse came forward and did not ask for money and saville's former associates at the BBC have stated that his behaviour was lude and predatory; this was common knowledge amongst staff. Staff at the hospitals where he used vulnerable and sick children have also come forward and talked about how their concerns were ignored and were not listened to. Nurses, secretaries. Dozens of people talked about how he would take caravans onto the road with him so that he could lure children into them. Saville had free and unlimited access to several establishments for which he had keys and was allowed to roam freely around independently, with no-one to question or challenge him. Many children, who are now adults have come forward and talked about their experiences of being rounded up by saville and his accomplices to be taken to paedophilia dens where he and others would subject multiple children to abuse.
MJ was subjected to gruelling and inhumane investigatory procedures by various agencies, was vilified in the press was under constant surveillance for the best part of two decades which culminated in a criminal trial which returned FOURTEEN 'not guilty' verdicts and exposed multiple lies and contradictions and efforts to deceive by the prosecution (including attempts to falsify evidence against him). The accusers stories sound really good when they’re the only one telling them.
The alleged room alarm looks suspicious if you don't factor in the fame factor. The greater one's celebrity, the greater target one becomes. I wish George Harrison had had an alarm/safe room.
Also, the alarm helped Michael's case at the trial. The defence used it disprove one of the accuser's claims. Star Arvizo said he sneaked into the room, crept up the stairs and witnessed abuse, but the alarms prevented anybody without keys from accessing Michael's room without the bell going off.
Yeah. I'm also wondering if it could have been due to the abuse he suffered as a kid. Kind of like PTSD. He always struck me as someone stunted. Or maybe something similar to a dissociative disorder. I think this movie was crap too. I've always felt that because of Michael's own history of abuse and trauma that he stopped growing emotionally at some point, like 10-13. He wanted friends. He loved the innocence of kids and felt like they didn't want anything from him like every other adult in his life did. I don't think he ever abused kids, he just didn't comprehend that it looks bad. He was so innocent in his heart that it didn't click. Also because of his massive wealth and fame, no one ever told him no. That's a bad combination. As a survivor myself..i feel much more comfortable around kids because i know they wont harm me. Being a victim doesnt make you an adult predator. I just believe he felt safe amongst children. He didn't stop growing emotionally. He was an adult who liked being goofy because it was fun and brought him publicity. Without the first accusation, no one would have thought twice about Michael. Michael had adult friends and girlfriends. He befriended families and would go visit them. He wasn't shy, he just was bashful at times.

He never went to normal school and never had friends. His dad beat him constantly and his older brothers did drugs, smoked and had sex in front of him while they were on tour. Question: why out of all the rich and famous celebrities, did people "pick on" Michael Jackson in terms of allegations? Michael at the very minimum was naiive/foolish in the way he acted. The parents too were starstruck and idiotic too- those were more trusting times perhaps.
My take on Michael Jackson is that he was extremely screwed up by his father's abuse, and being a child star who never really got to be a child. I think he just wanted to be a kid, and saw kids as more genuine and trustworthy than adults. So had a LOT of problems, but I don't think pedophilia was one of them. Then again I grew up in the early 90s when he was still famous, but also very weird so I had no memories of him being more normal to fall back on.
I grew up in the 60s so my sister n I loved the Jackson 5 and I was clubbing when he went solo and huge success with Thriller in the 80s. Michael Jackson was everywhere in the 80s. So age wise I’m a contemporary to him. Since you guys are younger you’ve got a different view.
Believe it or not there were constant jokes out there about his “strange behavior” and odd affinity to kids. Joke after joke about him liking kids TOO MUCH.

This is the best analysis I have seen since LN was broadcast. Thank you very much Dr. Grande. I had the same thoughts but couldn't express them the same way as you can. I'm 34 and come from Russia and I never was MJ's fan but I watched LN because I'm interested in psychology and because MJ is a legend. Something made me doubt these stories while I was watching it. Towards the end of the film, I was inclined to believe them, though. After that, I started to do a research on the Internet and look for arguments supporting or exposing both sides of the story. After having weighed a lot of pros and cons, I would say now I rather believe MJ was innocent, given the weakness of the cases against him, the result of the trial in 2005, and the questionable credibility of the accusers. I also trust Tom Mesereau and find his arguments very rational and reasonable.

After many hours of watching videos and a 2-month investigation of looking at the facts from the OTHER side, I am now 100% convinced Michael Jacson was one of the purest souls on the planet. In the 2004-2005 case, he was charged and his case went to court because there was evidence. Cases don't go to criminal court if there is no evidence to support what the accuser is saying. Not guilty does NOT mean innocent, neither does it mean a "vindication". R Kelly also received the same verdict on 14 counts in 2008, he was just as guilty as Michael Jackson. The train station and Grand Canyon accounts of the victims in Leaving Neverland are not lies.
There are no lies in Leaving Neverland. Imperfect recall is not lying and there is evidence of a previous train station. James never claimed that the abuse in the station happened on a particular date. The train station was just one of many locations where he described the abuse happening at Neverland. The fact that James personally took photographs of the completed train station (the photographs shown in Leaving Neverland) proves that he was there before and after the station was complete.
He mentioned a number of places where the abuse occurred in that section of Leaving Neverland. If this is a case of imperfect recall, then that is not sufficient to contradict his entire story.
There is also plenty of evidence and eyewitness accounts to suggest that an earlier version of the station was built without a permit before the official permit dates in 1993.
Wade did stay at Neverland while his family went to the Grand Canyon. In her 1993 deposition, Joy said that she went to the Grand Canyon with her family. She left on the weekend (3/4 February 1990) and returned the following weekend. Wade did not lie about being left behind. Mark Quindoy's testimony states that he took MJ and Wade out in the car on Friday evening (9 February 1990), a day or two before Joy and the rest of the family returned to Neverland.
Facts don’t lie. There were no charges in 1993-94 as the accuser’s story was not credible. 13 months of investigation were needed to try to corroborate the story and there was 0 evidence, despite involving multiple services, including the the police, Santa Barbara sheriff department, LAPD, with the help of FBI. The settlement was for a civil trial - the accuser’s family started a civil trial for money and, unconstitutionally, a judge ruled that it could go before the criminal case. After that, the state of California changed the law so that such a monstrosity would never happen again and now a criminal case always precedes the civil one. That’s why the 2005 accuser didn’t get a dime, as he too l, like all 5 accusers, went first not to the police but to a civil lawyer to see how to sue for money. The 1993-94 accuser had all the right to continue speaking but chose to take the money and run. He was called as witness in 2005 but refused to participate and his mother and sister made statements in front of jurors in 2005); while the father who started the whole lie asked the judge to be granted the right to release an album about the allegations. That’s what you do when your son was “abused” - you release an album 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The 2003-05 case was an absolute farse, the father of the accuser testified for the defense, telling the jurors (and the world) how Janet Arvizo repeatedly taught her children to lie for money. Every other member of the family accused a celebrity or a company of sexual abuse and asked for money. 14 NOT GUILTY verdicts mean total vindication, the law says: innocent until proven guilty and not guilty means the guilt was not proven. Because the abuse never happened. So Jackson was innocent.
Safechuck’s lie on the train station abuse is what made that film implode just days after its release. Reed didn’t check any facts, so that’s why the lie is so important, it shows the film has no value. Reed toured the media outlets stating that Jackson was interested in pre-pubescent boys, so that’s why the train station story is key proof to the lie. Safechuck signed 2 declarations stating his “abuse” started in 1988, started to fade in 1990, and ended completely in 1992. In the film Safechuck clearly says he was “doing it” with Jackson a lot and every day in the beginning of his “abuse” in many places around Neverland, including the train station, and that clearly places the story in 1988-89. Since the train station got its permit for construction in Aug 1993 and was completed in spring 1994, it means Safechuck was at least 16 when he would have been “abused” in the train station. So the story Reed told in his media tour was BS, as Safechuck had already reached puberty in 1994 when the train station was built. Also in the film they talk specifically about that train station, illustrating Safechuck’s words with photos on that station - that’s why it’s prime proof of the lie and it totally derails the narrative. Moreover, footage/photos from 1988-1993 show there was no train station at Neverland (that includes areal photo and video from Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding in 1991, vegetation fire in California in the early 1990s, police raids at Neverland in August 1993, and the raid with the strip-naked photos of Jackson the police took on Christmas day 1993 - the train station is finally shown there, under construction). That’s why it’s prime evidence Safechuck is lying and also prime evidence Reed didn’t do any research. A fact error of that magnitude drops his film from the category of documentaries to fake news. It’s like making a film about 9/11 and saying it happened in 2021 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Robson’s lie about the beginning of his “abuse” is also evident as Joy made 3 statements under oath that she took all her family to the Grand Canyon. Quindoy didn’t declare anything to anyone (police etc) until 1993 when he was paid by the tabloid media to say he saw abuse. There’s footage of tabloid reporters talking about Quindoy and how he agreed to say he saw Jackson’s hand touching a child. For a few thousands more, he agreed to say he’d seen the hand inside the child’s pants. Quindoy was so “credible” that even Sneddon refused to bring him to testify in 2005 - and Sneddon’s list of “witnesses” in 2005 was a carnival of freaks. Quindoy, just as Robson and Safechuck, is a liar 🤥

While yes, just viewing it as it is it as extremely inappropriate. But if you see Michel you see a kid, in my opinion he wanted to live through the child hood he never had, he literally acted like a child in many videos. I've always believed that, because of his early fame, MJ never really grew up, at least, in his head. Thus, the delight he got from interacting with children, being himself, rather than the adults around him that probably always wanted something and couldn't be trusted much. The whole story is rather sad.

There was never any evidence Michael Jackson had a desperate desire to sleep with children. That was the tabloids that put that out. Macaully said his family was allowed in MJ's two-story bedroom that was larger than many peoples homes. He told the court his "family" came to visit MJ a couple times a year and many times MJ was not home and the maid would let them into MJ room and he would play on the bed by himself. MJ had guest homes on the property they could stay. He never said MJ invited children to get on his king size bed. He said MJ had games in his two-story bedroom. MJ could not go in public, so he had the money to have them in his bedroom. He said they had to have their parents permission and the parents were welcome also. They sat on the bed played games and according to Macaully sometimes they would fall asleep playing. If the parents wanted to sit on the bed they could. He also said other times MJ would sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor. Wade told the court his family visited MJ maybe 13 times over 25 years. That is about twice a year, and they stayed for no more than a couple of weeks. Wades Mom is who contacted MJ's secretary wanting MJ to bring them to the US based on her depositions 2 years after they met MJ for the first time in Australia which was at the contest sponsored by Target. Joy Robson said they briefly met MJ at his hotel and left,. This was said under Oath. In LN Joy said she was thrilled when MJ died, but that is not what she told the Brisbane newspapers in 2009. He went to orphanages and cancer treatment centers and gave children he never saw again gifts to see them smile. When he heard Ryan White who had aids was denied access to public schools he befriended him and Ryans mom had nothing but good things to say about MJ. Dan Reed did not ask her to participate in LN. The Cascio family was around these people and MJ and never saw the kind of things Wade described. Dan Reed said this show was not about money but like Dr. Grande pointed out Wades and James case is on appeal and they are asking money. The amount is 1.5 BILLION. LN is about Money.
