As tourists there in 2005, we bought carry out lunch several days from Harrod’s and it was better, cheaper and healthier than most restaurants in the area. Sandwiches, juice, salads, then we walked a few blocks over to Hyde Park, sat on a bench and ate while watching people walk by - it was lovely. I also bought a travel umbrella there, which I still carry. Happy memories.
Whenever I return home to London I always visit all my high end favorite department stores. I love it all. Thank you from a homesick English man. Merry Christmas.
I had no idea that Harrods was so beautiful , luxurious, eye candy for the soul. Thank you for such a wonderful tour. I appreciate it. Can’t wait to go one day and experience it for myself.
What a great tour of Harrods, miss it so much. Love walking around and looking at all the prices. When ever this pandemic is over, I will come to London again.
Thank you Hannah so much for taking us on tour around Harrods. Love the food floor. Used to have lunch upstairs near the fruit area. Haven't been for years now but so pleased it hasn't changed at all
At some Grocery stores in America, if it says " Buy 1, get 1 Free", and you only purchase 1, you get it at 50% off !!! It might be worth asking, when at Harrods in the Food Court or Christmas Decor! THANK YOU so much for sharing the tour. What a WONDERFUL tour..... finally able to SEE inside Harrods, and specially at Christmas, WOW! The decor of the Food Court, Etc. is just stunning, took my breath away, reminded me of a few mini Bakeries & Candy Stores here in the USA. They probably tried to copy Europe & Harrods!
Glad I watched with this brekkie, the food hall is amazing. Yes you should have picked up that christmas sausage roll from F&M it was soooo good. I do love the watch section of Harrods, it's like my happy place.
Everything looks so good but just imagine coming hpme and telling your spouse "Honey, I got gifts for everyone on our list but I spent $5,000 on chocolate" lol haha 😛
First time viewer from USA. I visited Harrods in 1985. It was stunning then as well as now. The eel you could buy then in the fish shop was impressive. Thank you for the Christmas tour of Harrod's and back down memory lane!!!!🎄💞
I’d been there Dec, 2019 before COVID spread out very good luck for me I will be there again after our government allows us to fly . Thank you for lovely video
i watched your "tours" last year and loved them!! thank you so much!! i must say that i find the windows very unChristmassy. nothing for those of us who like the more old fashioned displays or animated for children. so glad i caught this!! i'll be hunting them down now. lol!
yes @Marlene Braun, the change in Britain’s demographics has affected that - its been noticeable last ten years. But my favorite local shoppes keep the CHRISTMAS in their decorations and will never change.
Department stores supposedly put Christmas front and center in their windows if they think it is needed to draw shoppers in. It is said that the space allocated to Santa inside a department store reflects the store’s relative pessimism about their sales. The more they worry about sales, the more space Santa gets. I agree that Harrod’s at least in years past was able to draw enough tourists at Christmas time that they didn’t bother with Christmas-themed windows. One would expect them to try to appeal to British shoppers given the downturn in tourism.
Wow, I am salivating! 😋 it's 1am in USA and I would love to be at Harrods buying chocolate and cakes! ❣ I am definitely planning a holiday trip to London after the pandemic. 💯
I loved watching your tour of Harrods. I want to go there someday, when Covid is gone. I can probably only afford items in the food section. I love to eat!
Thank you for the lovely tour. I love London. I have had the opportunity to visit several times. I have actually really been to Harris’ and I purchased 2 teddies for my daughter and me. Oh you make me want to come over since it is opened up now. Merry Christmas!
I was there over 30 years ago and in addition to thinking I was in food heaven I was so awed by the architecture. I wish I knew where I placed my reusable Harrods green shopping bag! Whenever the day comes that I am back in London I will definitely return there! ❤️🇨🇦
Relatable shopping:) If I were at Harrods, I would go a bit bonkers lol~ And I would definitely have a drink or 2 at the posh 'food court'. I hope you do another Christmas tour for 2021!
Im only halfway through but I must say before I forget, I'm amazed that nobody is staring at you while vlogging. Here in the states I noticed Americans will stare or try to move out of view of the vlogger. Here some youtubers won't vlog in public because they feel uncomfortable. It's refreshing to see it's more acceptable in London or so it seems. Great video.
My husband’s niece lives in Chippenham, whenever we get to visit her from California, I am going to Harrods that’s for sure! It would have been fun during Christmas time, everything looks so pretty and I would probably buy a lot! 😁💖... We call hampers, Picnic baskets and put our dirty clothes in what we call hampers! Lol. I just had bought a couple boxes of Walkers biscuits right before Christmas, no pictures of the Queen on the box though. There’s a store called World Market that I buy chocolates, biscuits, candies (sweets), teas and coffee. Certain things come from England, Germany, Italy, France and even from Japan. They sale all kinds of merchandise too. But I hope to travel more abroad in 2021! 💖
Hi Hannah, thankyou so much for this one. I do miss Harrods soooooo very much. I will get back one day, but scared at the amount of money I might spend! So sad to see so few people when you visited. Let's all hope that this year is a distant memory some time soon.... regards from Catalonia, Reni... un beso
I worked for Harrods in 72/73. My sister worked for a detective agency that was periodically hired by Harrods to check up on the employees. We loved the days that the Food Hall was being tested because we were allowed to keep the food that was purchased. I had a standing order for the Beef Wellington! Working for Harrods in those days was a blend of Are you Being Served and The Peter Sellers movie I'm All Right Jack. There was an understanding between the House of Fraser and the employees. The company paid poor wages and the workers did no work. I had a discount of a penny in a shilling but I bought nothing all the time I was there
Such a beautiful store. You could spend an absolute fortune in there if you're not careful lol. It's so refreshing to see your reaction to all the lovely foods. You're like a kiddy in a candy store. Excellent vlog as usual. X
We been going from Gothenburg, Sweden to London each year about Christmas and Harrods and their food hall is an absolute must to visit for us. I also one year went and asked an employee about "Christmas Balls" to which my wife nudged me and said "its CALLED Christmas ornaments" (you called them "Bau balls?!), so now we have this as a yearly routine that we must buy new beautiful Christmas Balls from Harrods each visit. I even have 3 of the really big ones that look like Fabargé made them that comes in really beautiful satin boxes. I also have the Union Jack one at 32:59, and its quite nice that they put the years on them. Having 2 small children we also had to visit Hamleys and have a "Cookie Monster" milkshake at the shake place on the top floor.
Thank you for the tour I have been to Harrods 3 times but one of my favourite decorations there.A green harrods vintage delivery van its about 2 inches and hangs on tree. When all this madness is over will definitely go back. Merry Christmas💚🎄💚
Sooooo impressed with your vlogs on Harrods, Suffrages, and the Savoy afternoon tea Hannah! I love that you spend such a significant amount of time in the confectionery and bakery sections I would really enjoy those areas too. As a new subscriber from Calgary Canada your videos are so clear and well-organized I really want to come and visit London. My family is in Northern Ireland so I definitely want to spend some time in the British City before popping across to the Emerald Isle. You are just great for tourism England and I hope they're compensating you! ;)Thanks for the great videos and looking forward to seeing more.
Hi Ryan, probably an autocorrect on your comment but it is Selfridges, not Suffrages in Oxford Street. Like your comments though. Missed a trip to Canada this year, we were in Grouse Mountain/Whistler skiing and Vancouver was great, if a bit too Chinese these days. Always loved the gardens on Victoria Island. Must visit Calgary someday.
I have never been to London but l will definitely put it on my list of places to visit , Harrods will be top of my shopping list. It looks absolutely fab,

Lovely walkabout around Harrods, thank you on behalf of those unable to be there this year. I’m in Sweden and it’s traditional to make pigs out of marzipan. Fun to see them in Harrods do them too.
Remembering: decades ago, first time in London, and a fella hurried into the tiny lobby of my hotel and called out “Heads up everyone! Harrod’s opened their Christmas store!” It was October. Well, I had to go of course, and what I recall most is an absolutely cavernous room filled with Christmas crackers!
I think I liked the window with the toys and paddington Bear.......thats what Christmas is all about.......children of all ages!Is there a crowd limitation in London stores? We cant eat inside anymore as of now in the US.Nice having Harry and meghan living down the road!!
I miss true toy windows too! They do limit the number of people in stores but you can eat in the restaurants indoors with the same household. But you can't walk around eating to take your mask off x
Oh Hannah, THANK YOU. First time in over 20 years that I cant visit in December. LOVE seeing and thank you for doing. You have covered my favorite stores this vlogmass ❤👊👍🥂🥂🥂🥂
Wow Hannah! So Impressed with this Vlog, Great Job. I was in London three years ago today visiting my son, who did a study abroad for his second semester. There are 2 types of people in the world: people who "miss the carnage" and people happy as hell to not have overcrowded shops for once 🤣
