Happy New Year! First time viewer and wanted to thank you for offering your list template for free! Also, have you tried a vacuum sealer for your freezer food?😊
Happy new year! Welcome to the group! You're welcome, I'll be doing a run down of how I like to scribble all over the list on Sunday's video. Obviously you can do it however you want though, I hope it helps! I have looked into vacuum sealers but with my space being so tiny, I didn't see a need to rush and buy one. I did however think if we got a deep freezer or something a sealer would be Amazing! Do you use one?
@ yes! But it seems you have found the right buns for the job, and you shop for similar foods so it lasts long term. I have found that’s where I struggle, when my organization took isn’t “quite right” or when I’m always putting something different in the area…which is how my freezers are.
@creativelycountry1617 I linked the bins I use if you want to explore options. I do buy a lot of the same products but putting them in the ziplock bags is game changer since it's uniformed size. If you give me more details, I might can give you suggestions.
@@MindiTV I have a slide out bottom freezer and love the idea, but struggle with daily function. It has helped to put some bins in for general categories… but I often freeze containers of leftovers, which aren’t the same sizes. Just wonky stuff. But I do love the idea of ziplock bags being the same size
New subscriber here and congratulations on your weight loss. It's important to indulge a little in things that you love so you don't crave them so much and end up over eating.
Exactly! I don't treat myself often (usually once a month) but I don't over do it when I do treat myself. It's all about balance. Btw welcome to the fam! And thank you!
Welcome! The mushrooms absorb all the ice so when you go to cook them they do have a ton of moisture. Depending on what I'm cooking, I'll sometimes cook them separately. It gives am earthy type of water, actually good for stroganoff, beef stew, or similar. Other than that, the texture is closely if not the same as fresh-cooked mushrooms. I prefer this method rather than canned, that texture is weird.
Welcome! I'm working on a free master list that I will be sharing with everyone who wants to download it. It will mimic mine but will have room to adjust for each user. I'll mention it when it's posted. I hope it helps! Thanks for the click and comment! Ttyl 👋
@ oh awesome. Yes I’d be interested. We like to keep a very well stocked pantry and freezers. I try to have a years worth of food but as we use it we replace those items and with the cost of food skyrocketing I can’t always add to the pantry and buy 2 weeks of groceries. The prices are crazy now.
Most definitely agree! That's why I shop for the deals. If I had the space, I would stock pile a bit more. Maybe that'll be possible in a couple of months when we move. Do you use some of the same techniques I do? Like the meat in individual bags or the Dissolvable labels?
@@MindiTV yes I definitely do. If it’s something I know we won’t eat right away like steaks, I’ll vacuum seal them. But chicken and ground beef I don’t because we eat a lot of it lol. I use labels and I also buy all of my baking things in bulk. It’s pricey but organic and I know what’s going into my baked items. I order those from azure standard. Last 25 lb bag of flour lasted me a year. So for that I put up more than half of it and seal it in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. Then when I need more in my container, I’ll open one. Sealed in Mylar flour can last like 10 plus years. Also I don’t get any bugs that way. Put the bag in the freezer for a few days then I open and section it up. I should make a video of all that lol
Oh wow! That's awesome. Feel free to give me tips n tricks whenever! Sounds like you know some things. Oh btw, I posted the template a couple hours ago. It's in the description box for last video and also on my community page. Let me know what you think! Also I checked out your channel, I'll be subscribing as well!
First time watching you enjoyed this so much I’ll be watching from now on 👍❤️
Welcome! Thank you! What was your favorite part?

Freezer organization goals though!!!! 🎉
Thanks! I try to keep it organized but sometimes it gets a little chaotic!

Hmm that is a tricky one. I wonder if Vertical use of space would help... 🤔 *think filing cabinet style*. Or if like items were stacked on each other.

Thank you so much! It's definitely slow progress with its up and down. But I'm proud of myself!
Excellent video. Question on freezing raw mushrooms-how is the texture after defrosting? New subscriber.

New subscriber here. I go to 3 stores sometimes depending on the sales for the week. I like your master sheet though. Great idea

I love the idea of chopping and freezing my onions…. I just feel like they make me whole freezer stink? Suggestion?
Any way you can vacuum seal them?
Once I ziplock bag them that's the last I smell of them. They don't make your freezer stink.
That's an option
@@MindiTV I must have strong onions, the smell through double zip lock bags, I just quite doing it?
I use yellow onions. Not sure about how other types are. What kind do you use?
