This is so good, dark and atmospheric that it left me sweating. Inferi is probably top 5 melodic death metal bands of (all times) this era. Props to Malcolm for creating such a monster band and keep it alive throughout the years.
I'll tell you guys straight out, I developed Epilepsy 6 years ago and music has been the biggest help keeping me leveled and centered. A man with his priorities in check. I saw these guys with Archspire and Obscura and, as far as I'm concerned, they stole the fucking show. There was another band there that was really good, too. They were called Exist. I hadn't heard of them before, still haven't seen anything from them despite my constant scouring of the interwebs for more metals (though my searches are always fairly open ended, I rarely actually search a band by name), but they were absolutely fuckin' wicked too. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
I've just read the lyrics for The Abhorrent Art fot the first time and this EP blew my mind again - 1. The lyrics are so incredibly well written, they might as well be poems in a collection of H.P. Lovecraft related works. 2. The vocal energy, timing, metre - is so *incredibly* well performed, it's honestly one of the best things I've heard yet.
I really appreciate that man. I spend a lot of time writing lyrics and arranging vocals patterns. My goal is to craft words that enrich the music but have the ability to stand on their own. Cheers!

Been a huge fan since the end of an era released in 2009.. still my favorite album of all time. I remember talking with Mike at a show before it was remade and told him something along the lines of "I'm sure it will be great, but the raw production is something I love about that album after so many playthroughs.. I'll admit the production from Path of Apotheosis on took a bit of time to get adjusted to, but it's grown on me in a big way. Best guitar playing in tech death in my opinion, just all over the place so often. Spencer just came out of nowhere to be one of the most solid players in metal in general, and Steve is sounding better than ever as well. Can't wait for more.
